ABode, Glasgow

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, offering great recommendations for sightseeing in the town. The hotel exuded a historic vibe, which was complemented by the comfort of the rooms and the overall cleanliness. The bed was very large and comfortable, and the bathroom was generously sized, both of which were fantastic.

The doors to the rooms were rather loud, mine needed an extra forceful shove to close properly. The AC fan in the bathroom did not have an off switch, which was unusual, however not a huge problem!

Hotel is very central, there is parking opposite and it's relatively quiet whilst being in the city centre. The staff were friendly and the hotel did everything is should have done.

The en-suite was small and an odd shape. The room was quite narrow but very tall giving an odd overall feel.

Room and hotel temperature was far too hot and couldn’t adjust to a more comfortable cold temperature.

Communication with the hotel before our stay wasn't overly helpful and breakfast was just ok. WiFi overall good but not great for streaming at busy times.

The location and the room was very nice

The temperature of the room was very hot. Even with the thermostat turned down to 17 degrees, and the window open, it never felt comfortable. We also only had one towel for our stay.

Basin cracked in bedroom; hospitality tray lacking in tea & coffee; air con wouldn't go below 19 degrees and kept switching itself back on throughout the night.

The hotel is nice, it was just Glasgow that i didn't like but the hotel was good.

The city

Location was great, room was comfortable and decor was nice. Good tea and coffee making facilities. Shower good.

I asked about parking the week before our trip and was told there was a car park across the road where we could get 40% discount with our hotel booking. Unfortunately, it wasn't mentioned that to get the discount you had to prebook the parking. I asked when we arrived about it and the receptionist said you could still get the discount through the app but you couldn't.

It is a quirky hotel that is well situated in the city centre.

Location was good/across from the car park and away from downtown but very walkable

Breakfast: we paid 40$ sat for 20-30 mins and no one came to help us. We left and got a refund Looks like one waiter only

Very central to everything Glasgow has to offer. 10 mins walk from Central Station. Lovely and welcoming staff all with great personalities. Pleasure to stay in a building with character rather than some anonymous corporate monolith. Place had a nice calm feel about it, maybe because on one of its past iterations it was home to an ex Prime Minister no less. 1912 lift added a new experience which is what travel is about. Beds super comfy. Breakfast exceptional value. All items freshly cooked. As I paid for bed & breakfast could have anything and everything off menu despite some items costing £7 or more each If came in off street. It will be tough not looking a pig and ordering 5 items!

There was no gym but knew that when booked. Fantastic gym literally across road so could have got day pass I guess if wanted Would have appreciated cereal option on breakfast menu and no choice of brown bread other than sourdough. I had long journey and wasn't up for walking too much so was going to have dinner at hotel but restaurant closed on Mondays. I'm sure it says that on website however and there are so many places to eat straight outside hotel so not huge problem but would have been nice to have that option.

Breakfast was ok . Everything was freshly cooked.

I like a fresh fruit buffet and fresh pastries to serve yourself. Everything was available here but had to be ordered. Toast wasn’t offered.
