Great location. Easy access to a park and Glasgow University. Our room (Arran Suite) was very tastefully decorated. Jennifer at the reception was very hospitable! She went extra length to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

We loved the location and the breakfast was OUTSTANDING. We were pleased the windows in the lower level rooms were large and looked out to a lovely garden

The bathroom was too small. The hand nozzle in the shower was broken (not adjustable).

The whole team would not have been more helpful and welcoming to our family and friends group, accommodated for a local wedding. Jennifer was especially welcoming on our (early!) arrival, and Claire similarly helpful. They even found our daughters’ coat after checkout and made sure we had it back. Really recommend this as a super change from typical hotel life. Breakfast is lovely, rooms very comfortable, and the use of the dining room as a lounge is a real bonus. Plenty of local eateries so not a problem not having an evening restaurant. My only regret is that we didn’t have time to try one of the treatments offered!

Loved your staff-Kittie showed us around when we got there and made us feel so welcomed. The house is beautiful with a sitting room to read, coffee and tea and treats available. The location is perfect within a few min walk to the Kelvingrove museum and park area. Our room was comfie and pretty with great pillows. The breakfast and Jennifer was just delicious. I didn't expect such a variety of home cooked foods. Seriously, a 5 star review and I"m somewhat picky about things.

A very stylish interior design

The breakfast was excellent and so was the location to great restaurants.

The bed was 2 singles pushed together which meant there was a lump in the middle of the bed, making it not very comfy.

I loved the hotel - the atmosphere and the staff were lovely. Breakfast was great and the area was fun. Room was beautiful.

No help with the luggage on those stairs was a surprise at this price. Also rigid times with no service from 8pm. The room was lovely but not great for privacy with the bathroom facilities in the room.

Everything, from where is situated to the character of the building inside. Our room was more than expected. Late check in available, breakfast included and quiye various.. With one tiny con.. A proper coffee machine wouldn't mind with decaff too. Just to fulfill the morning experience.

The staff were fabulous and accommodated every need. The who feel to the guest house was calm, sophisticated, superbly finished with attention to detail & charm. The beds were beyond comfortable, the lounge area near the dining was such a cosy spot to unwind & read. Loved the proximity to fabulous cafe’s with a huge selection of culturally diverse cuisine, west-end attractions and cultural attractions including museum & gallery. Would highly recommend to those seeking charm & old world character.

Such a beautiful location in a lovely part of Glasgow. This felt like somewhere very special to stay.

We thought we had a Smart TV but it seemed to be a standard TV? Remote batteries were also nearly gone. Apart from that we loved the place.

Great service and kindness from the staff. It made us feel very welcome and at home.

Great period property. Fantastic decor and attention to detail in the property with the furnishing etc. Jennifer on reception so really welcoming and informative, and staff in the morning serving breakfast equally nice and friendly. Breakfast was great and a really nice setting. I wish I was in town for longer than one night!

Garden view from room was disappointing

Room was lovely and the whole building was full of character. Very clean and the staff were amazing! They couldn’t have done enough for us! Breakfast is also lovely! They put a lot into their presentation and customer service.

Rooms aren’t very well sound proofed. However, it is an old building so probably not masses that can be done about that. They also have plenty of house rules about noise after 9 which was respected.

The location was lovely and quiet considering it was in the bustling west end of Glasgow. The room was decorated in keeping with the Victorian period of the house and the staff were very nice indeed. Indeed we slept so well that we nearly missed our breakfast which was lovely.

The location was fantastic and the room was great. We had a separate bathroom and the room was priced accordingly. Robes were provided so it was no issue. Breakfasts were very good and the view from the lounge was lovely.

We had a small problem with the flushing of the loo,also one of the window locks was broken so couldn’t be closed.Courtney was extremely helpful and polite,a great asset.

The proprietor was very friendly and helpful as was the staff. The location near Kelvingrove Park can’t be beat.

I think this is a personal preference so take this with a huge grain of salt. I enjoy the quaintness of B&Bs but I’m starting to prefer the solitude and escape of hotel rooms.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The management/staff couldn't have been more accommodating waiting up for my late arrival and phoning me to let me know I had left something behind. 5* guest house, would absolutely recommend!

Clean, comfortable, tastefully appointed

Lower rooms were a bit dark. Carpet was rumpled in places which is a tripping hazard.

Breakfasts are always very good in all the B&B's/guesthouses, but this was on another level for me as poached egg on top of a stack of black pudding & haggis with a base of tattie scone was divine. Location was perfect for us visiting Glasgow as the host city for the 2023 UCI World Cycling Championships. Alamo overlooks the lovely, quiet Kelvingrove Park yet short walk to the best streets in the West End with an abundance of great cafes, bars, restaurants & shops. Glasgow is a vibrant city to visit & we really enjoyed our stay.

I was in a room by the breakfast room/living room and you could just hear people in that room if you wanted to sleep in. Luckily I have ear plugs so it wasn’t much of an issue.

Very pretty place. Liked the bathtub and toiletries, having tea/coffee in room, comfort of bed, tv in room, sink in room, breakfast. Staff was nice and helpful. Liked that it was quiet and within walking distance of transportation, restaurants, museum and park.

Basement room was a little damp. Could provide lighter covers for summer. Tables in dining room were too small (removing the plate liners might help.) Entry should be lit during the day and after hours. Sorry not to have interacted at all with hosts.

This property is ideally located equidistant to the exhibition train stop and the Kelvin Bridge Subway stop, about a 10min walk each way. It is located in a vibrant, trendy part of the city, close to the University and the SEC as well as the Kelvingrove and Hunterian Art Galleries. The rooms are well appointed and suitably grand. But the highlight of this establishment is the personalised breakfast service. Delivered to your table or to your room, it always come with a smile and is always fresh and warm. The veggie haggis is a must try. Special thanks, particularly to Jennifer and Steve for their hospitality. Its this type of service that made me more satisfied with a guest house stay over a commercial hotel chain.

I cannot praise this place enough. From the second we arrived, absolutely spoiled by the amazing host who couldn't do any more for us. The building itself is spectacular, beautifully turned out and with a rich history that stems way back. There is local art displayed and for sale throughout, plenty of information to local attractions and very friendly, helpful hosts to help. Our room was beautiful, the bed was really comfortable and I cannot stress enough how amazing the bedding was - so glad there was no hollow fibre duvets in sight! Our room had a private bathroom which was stunning, lovely deep bath, lots of hot water and additionals including bubble bath which was a lovely touch. There was also access to extras which were above and beyond like a communal fridge, communal dining room to use to bring food in with. It was close to everywhere we needed to be, and the neighbourhood a lovely walk in the evening. Then there was the breakfast, I cannot understate how amazing the breakfast is. The menu had hot and cold options, veggie options and fresh fruit. Coffee was proper cafetiere coffee, the bread was amazing and the cooked breakfast options done to perfection. There was nothing I can say negative about this place, it is hands down the best hotel we've stayed in, ever. We'll definitely be coming back, only difference is it will be for a much longer stay! Thank you so much for having us, we felt well and truly spoiled in your care and your beautiful home.
