The cosy lounge and the level of attentiveness

Our continental and hot option were brough out at the same time, and the plates barely fit on our small table. It would have been much nicer to have the courses staggered, as we felt rushed. By the time we finished our continental dish, our hot breakfast was cold. When I raised this with the waiter, he simply shrugged his shoulders and said that since it's it had already been cooked he couldn't take it back.

Was a relaxing stay with a lovely bar and restaurant fireside. Easy access to airport is a pus with the airport bus right out the door. All the staff was quite lovely and very helpful!

Beautifully decorated hotel. Very comfortable bedrooms. Delicious breakfasts. Friendly staff. I would recommend this hotel very highly.

After a thoroughly enjoyable five-night stay at The Roseate Edinburgh, where we consistently received true five-star service from all staff, our experience was unfortunately tarnished at the point of departure. Knowing we were leaving prior to 7.00am, I deliberately settled our account the day before with Alex and requested the final invoice be emailed to me. On the morning of departure, I noticed the original charge had been credited and a new charge—double the amount—had been applied. I immediately contacted The Roseate seeking an explanation. I was extremely disappointed that Olivia, who processed these charges, did not have the courtesy to contact me or email to acknowledge or apologise for the error. During the call, her response was limited to repeatedly explaining that a mistake had occurred, while failing to understand that my concern was not the error itself, but the complete absence of an apology or proactive communication. The tone of the conversation left me with the impression that The Roseate felt entitled to conduct business in this manner. It was an unfortunate end to what had otherwise been an excellent stay, particularly given that no call or email was made to apologise for the error, nor was a final invoice provided explaining the amended charges. This lack of communication was disappointing and not reflective of the five-star service experienced throughout the rest of our visit.

The room was fantastic. Old school charm and feelings, but definitely kept up well. The bed was probably the most comfortable we had in our two week trip in four hotels. Concierge staff was great!

Breakfast was good, but lacked of options.

It’s a characterful historic property probably focused on enjoyment of the cuisine. I was only really there for a quick sleep one night. Appreciated the yoga mat!!!

There are two parts to the property and one must cross the road. My room was in the basement which is always a compromise but it was ok.

Excellent staff really helpful, friendly and helpful. Very clean, great location with easy access to public transport, parking available. Superb breakfast.

Our room was very comfortable and a good size but was in the second property accross the road and in an extension downstairs at the back. The noise insulation from the two adjoining rooms bathrooms was nonexistent. £20 per day charge for parking is excessive. I would still recommend this property just ask not to be put in the extension in the annex.

Absolutely fantastic stay! Flawless service led by the exceptional gentleman, Alexander, who helped us with everything. The breakfast was wholesome! Enough choices and politely served by Srishta. Did I mention that our booking was upgraded to one of their Junior rooms? It meant a lot to my wife and I as it was our final leg of travelling across Scotland.

Excellent stay - room very comfortable. In House building opposite the main hotel. Parking at the door and a short walk to Murrayfield Stadium and Haymarket. Breakfast was good quality and tasty.

We were on the lower ground floor in the House building so there was limited aspect. Also some noise from the rooms above and next doors bathroom. Didn’t detract from an excellent stay. The waiter on the second morning brought out our museli at the same time as the hot option!

There were no blinds on the windows that worked. The room was incredibly small.

The hotel was beautiful. Although the room was small it was well appointed. The staff were awesome. Alexander went above and beyond to find my husband a doctor. Lucy was always cheerful and helpful when waiting on us in the dining room.

The first room we were in was quite small and, in my opinion, not worth the price. However, we were upgraded to another room which was extremely nice and spacious. The staff is very attentive, so I cannot fault them for that.

Location was only an 8 min walk to the trams & train. Quiet residential area. Staff was fantastic. Especially Alexander and Maya!

Gorgeous room, very spacious bathroom and lovely products. Excellent staff. Loved the building and decor.

Our room was at the front so the noise from the road was considerable. We had a lot of distraction in the night from the traffic.

Due to the unseasonably warm weather the room was quite hot, despite the fan provided, as the window only opened about 15 to 20cm.

The location was great, the beds were so comfortable, and the staff were lovely. I also really liked how the lobby smelled and the dining area was a beautiful place to have meals. The food was very good in the restaurant!

Our room was on the ground floor of their building across the street, and sometimes people would walk closely by the windows, which was startling. We also ordered room service and it was forgotten one morning.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. Ideal location close to the city centre and the Murrayfield Stadium. We would definitely stay again.

The room was on the small side.

The room was lovely, clean, comfortable and very quiet. (It was nice to hear the birds in the morning). The breakfast and service was very good too. The hotel is a little outside the city center but is just a short taxi ride or the bus stop is right outside. Great location for Murray field events and we would definitely stay here the next time we return to Edinburgh. It was a shame we could not stay longer and enjoy the cozy bar and cocktails.

The pillows, bed, and comforter were very comfortable. The shower products specifically the “Scot’s pine” scent smelled incredible & even the smell when you walk into the property smells heavenly!! I loved it so much I asked if they sold a candle or room spray in that scent (unfortunately they don’t). I also really appreciated the congratulations card and treats on our bed when we arrived it made our honeymoon feel even more special :) I was also a fan of the cookies in the room. Also the gentleman who checked us in and showed me to my room was very nice and personable helping us with recommendations on where to go during our stay.

The toilet takes a while to flush & I wish the room had AC, it got a little hot in there at times

Amazing rooms with good toiletries and lots of towels, good location with excellent bus services outside and quickly into the city centre. Helpful & friendly staff, and nice to have the later than usual check out times.

The hotel building is very nice. Accommodation very comfortable, large room with a fantastic bed! So comfortable! Large bathroom. Breakfast is excellent with many options and served at the table. Walking distance from city center but also a bus from airport to city is available just in front of hotel.

I loved everything at the property. Our check in host Tamara was so friendly and accommodating. She really made our anniversary stay extra special. The bed was like sleeping on a big white fluffy cloud. The entire stay was amazing. The next time we book though, it will be directly through the hotel. Thank you.

Booking through booking.com. they really overcharged for the room based on a change i had to make.

It was set just far away from the hustle and bustle..about a 40 minute walk to the Castle which we enjoyed. The staff were friendly and excellent.

The attention to detail with the staff is amazing! Such a warm and inviting place.

The location of our room was on the bottom floor in a basement. The room was small but they did do their best making it very comfortable and with a lot of extra details.

The staff were very helpful, the hotel is in 2 different buildings opposite each other. The room was very comfortable albeit compact. The bonus was there was a lovely conservatory that guests could use with access to the garden. Very pleasant stay.

Great location, helpful and friendly staff. Downsize is that I think for the price, the food options and quality could be better. The room was very comfy but there were stains in the upholstery, so little details could be improved considering it is considered a luxury location.
