The hotel lived up to our expectations.. Cosy& Spacious room beautiful decor. Staff were outstanding.. Francesco, Carl and Connor all made us feel right at home.. The whole experience was excellent 👌

Very luxurious and excellent food. I arrived after 8 PM. I still manage to order dinner in the bar. It was delicious and the bar had a wonderful ambience. The staff was incredibly nice. I love the bathroom in my room. I had a towel, warmer a beautiful bathtub and an espresso coffee maker absolutely delicious. I love the staircasein the hotel.

It was fantastic. Our stay was just so nice. Staff super friendly and helpful. Carl was brilliant with us. Credit to your team! Food was excellent. Junior suite was fab with all the lovely extras like shortbread and chocs!

Charming Scottish Hotel. Fabulous Christmas decor. Breakfast selection was excellent. Bedroom warm and cosy.

I was astounded by the lack of interaction with me and my partner at check in. There was no information forthcoming on standard check in such as where Breakfast was, the possibility of booking for dinner, the opportunity to test taste some whiskies etc not to mention no information on the local area and what to do in Edinburgh. Guest care not a priority at reception in this hotel. We did not receive a Goodbye or Travel safely comment as we left. I strongly reccomend that staff are trained to a standard befitting this lovely hotel.

Location was great and practical. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was clean and spacious.

It gets a bit hot sometimes due to the heating but the hotel made sure to have an ac in the room for us

Beautifully appointed hotel, with lush decor. The room was very posh, with nice amenities, including coffee and tea, and of course, shortbread! The hotel bar was great, with attentive and helpful wait staff. All staff were wonderful and helpful. The only little negative was that our rooms were on the lower level, so we could hear people wheeling suitcases across the marble floor in and out of the lobby above, and could hear hotel staff in and out of the freight elevator. Not anyone's fault, just something to be aware of when you book. Otherwise, a very excellent stay!

We loved everything, the beauty and luxury of the whole hotel. 24 hr service - we are early risers. The location. The staff were welcoming and lovely. Our room was beautiful.

Absolutely everything! The hotel was visually stunning, the staff went above and beyond and the room was indulgent.

Housekeeping was amazing -- whether I stayed in my room until noon or left at 9, when I came back it was refreshed. I appreciated the refrigerated water and the selection of hot drinks. Overall, I felt every moment that I was welcome and appreciated, and I was supremely comfortable. The area is quiet and charming while also being a short walk to the shopping districts. A wonderful stay.

Beautiful hotel set in a leafy quiet street in Edinburgh. The decor was period style and beautiful too with a bar and lovely dining room for breakfast. Room was clean and tidy with all the amenities you expect in a 5 star hotel. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Definitely will be back again if I visit Edinburgh. Good off street parking which felt secure.

I always think the staff lack warmth. Perhaps a socket nearer the mirror for drying hair. I did say this on checkout and they said they’d hope to resolve this issue.

The hotel was so beautifully decorated and was so cosy and welcoming. My room was spacious, had a gorgeous view, and the bed was so comfortable. The staff were wonderful - really friendly and accommodating. It took about a 25 min walk from The Bonham to get to Edinburgh Castle, so it’s not “out of the way” but it feels away from the immediate hustle and bustle, which is lovely if you don’t mind the walk. Saying that, if you wanted to get a taxi to the Castle area, the drive is under 10 mins and under £10, too. The hotel breakfast was lovely, and I enjoyed a couple of drinks in the very comfortable and cosy sitting room area which was perfect. I loved my stay and would 100% return.

The worry I had before travelling is that parking at the hotel is very limited and not available to reserve in advance. However, when I arrived, there were several parking spaces available inside the hotel car park, so thankfully parking was not an issue for me.

I really have nothing negative to say about this hotel, it’s absolutely perfect in every way. Great location, clean beautiful rooms, amazing breakfast and very kind staff, always with a smile. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit.

I really enjoyed to stay in such wonderful hotel. Next time when I will in Edinburgh, I am definitely going to be in the Bonham. They have a perfect service, amazing design and fantastic atmosphere. I felt that I touched the luxurious and aristocratic style of Scotland lifestyle.

I enjoyed my time at the hotel and not once did I feel cold or unsatisfied while being in our room. The breakfast was to die for, especially the À la carte part of the breakfast menu. Don't be afraid to eat the haggis, it was delicious and don't let others tell you otherwise until you eat it yourself. You could borrow the umbrella from the hotel and the bathroom commodities were of good quality aswell. 100% would come back.

To begin with, one must understand the architecture and houses that are in Scotland. Most don't have thermal insulation and the older the house, less likely there to even have any insulation. Now the hotel is old, but not in the "crumbling and in ruins" part, but the architecture and room planning is old enough, that the building is most likely protected by the government. Big text, didn't read, but all-in-all ... moisture and window insulation was a problem with the room (but countered by the heating, not once did we feel cold in our room) and the windows are probably older than I am while writing this review. But it's not a hotel specific thing, most of UK is having trouble with this.

Absolutely loved our stay at The Bonham! From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, friendly, and effortless — nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself is stunning; a beautifully restored building full of character and charm, yet with all the modern comforts you could want. Our room was elegant, spotless, and so comfortable, and the little touches throughout really made the stay feel special. The location is perfect too — quiet and refined, but just a short walk from everything Edinburgh has to offer. There was genuinely nothing to dislike — The Bonham is a true gem and easily one of the best hotels in the city. We can’t wait to come back!

Loved the style of boutique hotel and the interior decorating. We didn't do breakfast but did use the bar lounge for drinks and a Bonham coffee which was delicious. Our beautiful room had the bay window on the 3rd floor with lovely views over to the water and to Dean Village. The shower was great with plenty of hot water. Location was quiet & a short distance from the main shopping area but certainly walkable. There are restaurants within walking distance from the hotel for when the hotel restaurant isn't open.

It is a narrow entry into bathroom past the hand basin. Perhaps replace with a slightly smaller one or different shape when next due for refurbishment.

High end and classy

Here are some reasons why I adore this hotel as a return guest and it's always my top pick whenever I visit Edinburgh. - The staff are super friendly and welcoming. There's always someone at the front desk, no matter the time of day. Room service was also very responsive. - Excellent equipment and cleanliness. Particularly, the kettle is quite clean with no limescale (which is something I value highly). - The scenery is breathtakingly stunning, as the seascape of Edinburgh can be seen from my room during my stay(s). - The location is very close to both Edinburgh's New Town and Old Town, making it easy to find. Nevertheless, it's also situated in a residential area, so it's quite tranquil since evenings. - Overall interior design aesthetics (personal preference).
