Being next to train station has its challenges as street can be very busy and also if you park your car at balmoral we could not get parked as taxis outside hotel … so we had to double park outside

The hotel is a piece of art ! So beautiful ! The service was amazing ! The location could not be better- so close to everything you want to be

Great location and excellent service throughout. We upgraded our room which was worth the extra charge. The Balmoral is a bit more expensive than other hotels in Edinburgh, but well worth it!

The hotel itself is stunning, lots of character and old features. Decorated for Christmas made it even more special. The room size was perfect.

Can’t say there was anything I didn’t like.

Lovely hotel, architecturally beautiful and imposing. Great location for accessing all the typically tourist sights in Edinburgh. Beautiful public rooms, bar and restaurants. Lovely spacious Rooms and very comfortable large bed.

Spotless, incredibly comfortable, central location, staff very friendly and helpful, attention to detail, room service food was delicious. Spa is very nice too.

That it’s too expensive for me to stay regularly!

The bed was harder than I would of liked, but that's a personal preference. There was no turn service, not a huge deal, but I had the service previously

From the man on the door helping us in with our bag to the room maids to the management, everyone was so attentive to our needs, so helpful and willing to go above and beyond expectations

The spa was closed, but that was not an issue The hotel Is expensive but the cost is justifiable

Great location, very traditional and service top notch.

Breakfast service could be better, and wife's Gluten Free bread was like polystyrene, so easy to serve good quality Gluten Free products nowadays.

Ideally situated next to Waverley station and on the Main Street, near a tram stop which ran to the airport. Luxurious feel and lovely comfortable room. Excellent soundproofing from the outside world. Highly attentive staff. Nice swimming pool and spa area and very extensive gym!

It’s on a very busy part of princes st right next to Waverley station - I thought very convenient but if you want somewhere a bit quieter this is not for you.

Beautiful grand hotel and very central. Stunning vibey and beautiful bar.

The carpet in the entrance area was very dirty which detracted from the stunning space!

Location Amazing views Great service

We had a Deluxe room which was huge, very comfortable and great bathroom. Location was amazing, especially as im disabled, close to great shops and restaurants. Breakfast was served and buffet, lovely. Children aren't allowed in the bar but allowed around the corner in the same area. Dinner in the Brasserie was amazing, well worth a visit with lovely staff. All the staff were very friendly and polite!

Only complaint was if you sit near the bar during breakfast they fill the ice about 10.00am which is very noisy and not pleasant when eating breakfast. I did tell a staff member but I heard it the same the next 2 mornings, so obviously didnt take any notice of me!!

The staff are all wonderful without exception, the bars and restaurants are the best in Edinburgh

The staff were exceptional and couldn't do enough to make our stay memorable.We were greeted with a smile all day long. Breakfast was delicious and our bed very comfortable.Excellent location.

The service here is outstanding as is the location. The whole focus is on old fashioned courtesy and nothing is too much trouble for them. I think this is the best hotel I have stayed in.

Service and staff excellent but breakfast to table not up to standard what was expected

Bacon and toast slightly burnt. But I should have said something at the time instead of accepting it as the staff were excellent.

So centrally located that if you’re a walking it’s accessible to restaurants, historical sites, shopping, public transportation & what have you!!!

Beautiful Hotel and exceptional staff, couldn't do enough for you. The bed was lovely and big but a little hard for my old bones and the pillows were far too soft and gave no support, so sleep wasn't too good sadly, but everything else was perfect.

The optional room service charge of £31.75 per night! We declined to pay this!

The staff was amazing. Barely had to ask for anything because they volunteered to do everything before we even asked. Concierge hooked us up with tickets to the Castle and Real Mary King’s Close even though they were sold out on every site I looked at. On site restaurant was great, and host sat us right away even though there was a 45 minute wait for people not staying at the hotel.

Gorgeous and sumptuous room, with everything of the highest standard. Every afternoon we received a knock at the door with home made cookies and milk for my granddaughter. All the staff (especially reception and room service) were professional, very helpful and friendly.

The decor, the choice of bars, restaurants, the staff, the location, basically could not single out one specific highlight.
