First class location in a stunning building. The amazing staff friendly yet professional always ready to help. Excellent restaurant and bar with great cocktails of all styles. Fabulous spa, had the most amazing facial.

This hotel is an oasis of calm in Edinburgh city centre. The staff - all of them - are unfailingly courteous and competent and so very helpful.

There was nothing that I did not like.

Exceptional hotel with spa facilities and pool that have just been renovated. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. The location couldn’t be any better. Right in the centre and within walkable distance from many interesting monuments, but also right next to the train station. The breakfast offered a great variety and was all fresh and delicious. Highly recommended.

Everything about our stay was incredible. The location, the room, the friendliness of the staff, and the restaurant and bar were sublime. We stayed here for the last night of our honeymoon, and the staff brought us a bottle of champagne and huge raspberry macarons. Concierge were very helpful, and there's nothing negative I could say about our experience.

Staff remembered my name. Breakfast was lovely and staff handed me a big box to fill the day I went to the highlands. Restaurant was great and enjoyed all.

Would stay there again if I am ever back in Edinburgh .

Excellent location that made it easy to get to tourist destinations. The room was comfortable and large. The bathtub/shower combo was fantastic. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful, courteous and provided great suggestions of things to do/see in the area. They went above and beyond to make sure that I had an exceptional stay at the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely use it again.

I love the balmoral. I always feel welcome and the staff are amazing always going the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect.

The room I stayed in 502. I appreciated the team trying to get me room 500 as it is my preference. But room 502 was not my favourite. It wasn’t the teams fault. But in future I would just rather not be put in a room with no bathroom window. It made me feel claustrophobic.

Had dinner in brasserie which was exceptional

Expensive and on checking my bill saw a charge for servicing the room which I have never ever been charged for!

The Balmoral is the perfect location to experience Edinburgh. It is simply a must. Situated perfectly, the best staff I encountered on my 6 Days Trip in Scotland. The restaurant is simply fabulous, you have to eat there.

Stunning old building that is appointed and beautifully decorated. My 5th floor room was lovely. Complimentary still and sparkling mineral water was appreciated. Had drinks and dinner at the hotel's french brasserie. Service excellent and the food was very good.

I do not like the oversized tubs with the glass half door. Anyone over the age of 60, with rare exceptions, will have a hard time getting in and out and would prefer a shower without the oversized tub. That said the bathrooms are well appointed and very clean. Love the Sean Connery 007 photos.

The staff were truly attentive and could not do enough for us. Location was great for our purpose Room and amenities were all exceptional.

It was still very expensive (but I guess that you get what you pay for) so the cost would be a factor in choosing where to stay on our next visit to Edinburgh

Breakfast was excellent, staff were super-friendly and location really central and right next to train station.

My son Max and I had a magical stay at The Balmoral. The staff were just wonderful. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay extra special for Max (age 9). Our trip to Edinburgh was a special treat because he's a huge Harry Potter fan. He absolutely loved Edinburgh and all it's Potter lore but the stay in the Balmoral was by far the highlight of his trip because of how kind everyone was to us (as well as it being a beautiful luxurious hotel of course).

Upon checking in we will a really get so welcome. Checking is was breeze. The hotel is so nice from the exterior to interior to the room and the staffs especially the housekeeping.

Staff was amazing and super helpful. Only issue was that mattress was a little hard.

Beautiful hotel. Location was perfectly situated for visiting all local monuments, restaurants and public transportation.

It was unfortunate that the main lobby and gym and other were not available for use. This is the only reason why I did not rate every category as exceptional.

Amazing staff and location. Afternoon tea did disappoint and a few areas of confusion with the bills and random things charged to our room like dinner that we did not have. Addressed quickly though my reception staff.
