Exceptional service, staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.

The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. The room was a great size as was the bed. There was a great choice for breakfast which we took advantage of.

we thought the breakfast was a little expensive for what we had.

Staff service was terrific.

The beds are too high. I am quite small and disabled and the beds are too high fir me to get in and out safely. A pair of steps is not a sensible solution for people who have mobility problems. What’s wrong with having some beds which are the traditional height. I had to sleep in a camp bed at the Balmoral.

Had a lovely time. Staff were great and solved a couple of problems immediately. Very clean.

Beautiful hotel central location. Great staff. Very clean room. Lovely little touch with chocolates and we were lucky to get some macaroons. Both these were delicious and much appreciated. We highly recommend a stay here as the hotel goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable

Turn down service was an added extra touch which was quite expensive and wasn’t really worth it but that was our choice. Maybe if we had been using the room all day it would have been appreciated. Also surprised that the hotel does not stock Coke Zero or Pepsi Max. Being diabetic these are the mixers I have to drink. Diet Coke/Pepsi are not agreeable with my stomach and I’m sure others are in same position. Other than that we love staying here and highly recommend it for a special treat.

On arrival you are greeted at the door and bags/cases are taken as you check in and are then taken to your room. The first thing that hits you is the scent in the lobby, it is beautiful! The room has all amenities that you need from water to lotions and potions. We were greeted by a card and some treats as we were staying for our anniversary - this was a pleasant surprise. We went out for the evening and on return they had turned down the room and made a love heart from petals - left slippers and water by the bed. Very nice touch. As an addition we had a Scotch whisky tasting in the Scotch bar, amazing staff, very knowledgeable and provided a relaxing environment. Staff very happy to help with anything - nothing is too big or small! Brilliant! The hotel is central to shops, stations and tram/bus stops.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was lovely and clean, the bed was very comfortable. Lovely touch with the chocolate fudge on the table as a gift, it was also delicious.

In other places I have stayed at a very similar price the drinks from the mini bar were included. No mini bottles of shampoo/conditioners in the rooms. We phoned down for extra milk but it took at least half an hour to arrive. They were very apologetic but if I had been waiting on it my drink would have been cold.

Amazing service from beginning to end! Hotel is traditional in the best way possible and charming.

Only slight criticism is that the water wasn’t particularly hot in the mornings for our showers.

The property is stunning its central to everything and the staff go above and beyond to help you in every way. We were only there for 2 nights sadly never got to use the spa I will do next time. Definitely be back. Highly recommend this hotel 💗

Fabulous, clean well presented room, comfortable bed, great pillows, clean, beautiful hotel, great staff, central location, parking for ease, would recommend and return. We look forward to staying another of this chains hotels.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we knew that we were in for a splendid experience. The bell men were welcoming and attentative. The reception staff, very accommodating and professional. We checked in at 1pm and our room was ready. An excellent start to our stay. Our room was magnificent and spacious, with welcoming truffles and shortbread biscuits which were delicious. Our child was spoilt with decorative snowmen, freshly baked cookies and milk daily. Carrots, mince pies and milk for Santa were given on Christmas eve, for the big man himself. On Christmas day a beautiful stocking was gifted filled with festive treats. Well received. Breakfast was stupendous, and our Christmas lunch was exceptional, with some beautiful dinner jazz playing in the background. This was one of the best and enjoyable Christmas we've ever had. Our room didn't have a lovely view and at times was dark. The fire alarm going off on boxing day night. We had to go outside in our Pyjamas.

Understated luxury. Staff friendly, warm & genuine but left with enough privacy & independency to be able to relax easily. Food & drinks, delicious. I was worried as the spa was closed for renovations but didn’t miss it or notice any building work.

The hotel location is excellent and attached to the Edinburgh Waverley station and situated between the both towns (new and old). The hotel staff warm greeting. Prompt and early check in. Spacious and clean rooms and optional amenity to children. Food quality and breakfast were excellent.

Exceptional staff service from concierge to waiting and house-keeping. Delicious breakfast and one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. A generous upgrade just added to the perfect stay.

My artistic wife said in her subjective point of view the decor of the junior suite was a little bland.

The Hotel is in a busy but good location. Near the bus and train station. The staff are attentive and this is easily achieved with so many staff.

The Hotel is in need of updating and investment.

First of all the staff had heard that we were going for my partners birthday and they upgraded our room for us. The staff are very friendly and helpful and despite it being a very high end hotel, the staff are not stuck up or overly formal, they are just normal Edinburgh people. I loved that.

The only improvement would have been if I had stayed longer and had time to use all the facilities.

The attention to detail was outstanding. Putting up a kids tent in the room, a Christmas stocking on the door, wrapping the phone chargers with small clips, all wonderful small touches that made one feel welcome. Service in restaurants was very good!

The Christmas Day meal was very disappointing, especially for the price.

We spent four nights here over Christmas, as a family that travels a lot, this was a stay that really stood out. The staff went the extra mile and the attention to detail was unparalleled. From a little robe and slippers for our daughter. Milk and cookies every evening. One detail that I’ve never had before, was our charing cables next to the bed were neatly tied every night. The staff were all tremendous, if there was an option for a 6th star ⭐️ that would’ve been well deserved.

The service is exceptional and all staff are friendly and helpful. The quality of the food is wonderful. Beautiful hotel. We had a great suite overlooking the castle and Princes Street.

Our stay at the Balmoral was wonderful. Made so by all the staff but I have to mention a very special thank you to the chef in no1. Unfortunately I was unable to experience the menu with my family that we had so enjoyed on previous visits due to a medical condition I was suffering from at the time. I mearly had to mention the problem and the solution was produced with no fuss. With every course he prepared a small portion of soup that reflected the flavours of the wonderful courses. So big thanks to all.
