Sheridan Guest House, Edinburgh

From the moment we arrived we had such a lovely, warm welcome. The room was spacious, clean & well-equipped with everything we needed. The hosts are delightful! So chatty & helpful. Incredible breakfast too with a good choice from continental, to pancakes, to full Scottish. Location wise, the B&B is in the north end of the city which can feel a little further out but the No.11 bus stops right outside & it’s a 10/15 minute walk to the nearest tram line… both of which take you directly into the city centre. We will definitely return & can’t speak highly enough of this B&B. Thankyou, for such a wonderful stay!

Sheridan guest house is such a beautiful property which Tom and Rowena keep super clean and very welcoming. They are really friendly hosts and can’t do enough for you. We stayed for the marathon and it was the perfect place to come back to and rest afterwards! Breakfast is lovely and they even went to the trouble of feeding vegans - would definitely recommend and will stay here on any future visits to Edinburgh.

Breakfasts were outstanding. Plenty of choices, freshest ingredients, home made sour dough bread delicious. Gracious hosts. Classic, classy decor. Fascinating eclectic art work. Decorative use of indoor plants beautiful.

We would surely visit Sheridan again should a first floor room be available.

Sheridan Guest House is a gem! Looking back at all other places we stayed at during our trip in Scotland, I can honestly say that this was the best place we stayed at. The owners are incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful. The house is filled with charm and warmth. The breakfast is truly spectacular. I cannot recommend it enough!!

There is limited storage in the rooms.

Tom and Rowena were such wonderful hosts and my husband and I would stay there again in a heart beat. The location was perfect and the renovated house was amazing. Loved the breakfast options And Rowena’s home made bread was to die for ! We stayed there for 4 nights, the bus into Edinburgh was about 10 to 15 minute journey and the stop was located across the road right outside the Guest House.

It was perfect, feels like home. Rowena & Tom are amazing hosts. The house itself is lovely with many decorations & small details. Breakfast was outstanding. Next time in Edinburgh - definitely coming back to Sheridan.

Things to be aware of: The location is a bit remote but easily reachable with Bus #11. The room itself is pretty small but it’s visible in the pictures & size is mentioned. As long as this works for you - Sheridan is outstanding!

Tom and Rowena were very friendly and welcoming. Our daily breakfast was a highlight of our day and Tom’s wit. Our room was super comfy. Will definitely stay when Edinburgh again.

Welcome hosts - Tom and Rowena were such lovely, accommodating people.

There was an excellent selection of items for the continental breakfast and everything was very fresh. Rowena was extremely obliging to make a full hot (Scottish) breakfast and the food was excellent and substantial. There was no reason to go hungry during our morning walks. The rooms for lovely and the bed very comfortable. All the amenities of any large hotel chain, with so much charm. The guest house was beautifully decorated and the ambiance was wonderful. Tom was very helpful with his knowledge of the city and how to get around and what we should see. Both he and Rowena made our stay warm and welcoming. It was very easy to get to the guest house from the airport using the directions Tom gave us. and it was very easy and safe to get around the area on foot or by bus or tram.

I can’t think of anything that I didn’t like. The stairs were a bit narrow, but very safe with good hand rails. Tom was very happy to take our luggage up them for us. I am in my late. 60’s and my knees bother me a bit, so stairs aren’t my favourite. In the end, I had no problem navigating them.

If you come to Edinburgh go there. The bus 11 will bring you to the center and back. It is a quiet place with flowers in the garden and inside the house. A little walk at the riverside Leath and you find good restaurants near the coast. Britannia can be reached within half an hour walking. The owner is really dedicated at work and give you best information for your stay. After a two week journey around Scotland I assure you this was a most amazing place.

Everything about the Sheridan guest house was fantastic. Tom and Rowena absolutely fantastic hosts. I would recommend to anyone who wants a good place to stay it definitely is there. Bus service into the city just over the road and a local convenience shop there as well.The breakfast is fantastic as well plenty of choice and plenty of it as well. Thankyou for making us so welcome. 10/10 from me .

The host were really lovely the food was fantastic the room's were clean and there is a good bus service so we all enjoyed our stay there and would go back again.

Excellent and plentiful breakfast. Homemade granola and sourdough bread were wonderful. The hosts are wonderful people who love what they do and go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and at home. They had a lot of excellent suggestions for us.

This guesthouse was absolutely amazing, tom and Rowena were fantastic hosts nothing was too much trouble for them, they really did make our stay most enjoyable. The location of this little gem is brilliant just 5 minute bus ride into the centre and the bus stop is right outside the guesthouse and cost just £5 each all day! We used this all the time. Breakfast was lovely nice selection and the homebaked sourdough bread was the best! We will definitely recommend this lovely place and when we are ever in Edinburgh again we will stay here again

The hosts are very attentive and helpful. Everywhere is very clean, tidy, with everything needed and nicely decorated. Breakfast was excellent!

Tom and Rowena were very friendly, caring and generous. We could checkin early and inside the guesthouse is decorated so well with beautiful art and artefacts. They serve hot scrumptious breakfast of your choice from the menu. We loved Rowena’s home baked sour bread . They use organic eggs and other high quality ingredients. Bus stop was just a minute’s walk.

The hosts are the most lovely couple. We were warmly welcomed and served a most delicious breakfast every day. They keep things extremely tidy and clean. We loved the walk down the Water of Leith to dinner.

The property is a calm oasis, with a gorgeous garden and beautiful art pieces from around the world on every floor. The furnishings are very tasteful and enhance the Georgian design. Our breakfasts were a highlight,and some of the best we’ve had. Rowena is a masterful cook and baker (her sourdough homemade bread is addictive). Her husband Tom gave us great suggestions on where to go and eat. We wished we had more time to try everything on his list!

Tom and Rowena were great hosts. The room was perfectly clean. The breakfast was good and was served with a fantastic homemade sourdough bread baked by Rowena. They served a vegetarian option of the Scottish breakfast for us. I will definitely come back:)

As per the reviews, the breakfast service is a highlight. Tom was wonderfully helpful with arranging our taxi, and they even provided sandwiches when we had to miss breakfast the second morning

This isn't a real problem because the facilities were all wonderfully clean and functioning, however, the bathroom for room 6 is rather small, especially for a larger man. The bathroom was only slightly wider than the width of my shoulders. But again, this was not a real problem.

The bed was a little bit small as I'm 6ft 4ins didn't help over all a great stay...

The breakfast was amazing, the home baked sourdough was particularly excellent! Tom was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast room is a lovely setting, and Rowena's enthusiasm was infectious, particularly concerning her beautiful plants! There is plenty to do and places to eat and drink in Leith, but Edinburgh centre is a short bus journey away. We took a nice walk through several parks which was about 30 minutes to the Royal mile.

Fantastic breakfast, with very friendly and helpful hosts. Beautiful and very clean room. Quiet location, next to bus stop line 11 (city center and back) and the beautiful Leith River walkway. Very practical location to visit both Edinburgh Centre and the beautiful Leith District.

Tom and Rowena are exceptional hosts. They have welcomed us into their beautifully furnished house. We have been traveling quite a bit through the UK right now, this has been the most amazing place we have stayed so far.

A small and very beautiful hotel, run by a very nice and welcoming family. The breakfasts are excellent. The shower and toilet are small, but there is everything you need. You can see that almost all the small details were thought of. Although the room I got was on the second floor (lots of stairs), the bedroom itself Big, cozy and very clean. The bed is really comfortable.

Distance from the center. Takes time to get to know around

Very welcoming, able to drop case off early. King size bed with luxurious bedding, large room with great views over the city. Breakfast a highlight, plenty options and freshly cooked. Everything has been thought of.

There is nothing I can think of that needs improvement, absolutely nothing. The place is outstanding.
