Hotel du Vin, Edinburgh

Location was great. Staff were friendly and the vibe was what you would expect from a nice hotel

Price, access issues to 3rd floor, had to find a workaround

Everything! I just wish we could have stayed longer. We stayed in a junior suite with a tub in bump out windows overlooking the rooftops and street below. No issue with privacy. The bathroom with the shower was gorgeous. Great location. Glad I chose to be off the Royal Mile by maybe 1-2 blocks. Not far at all. Still felt like I was on the excitement of it all, but at the same time calmer, if that makes sense. If I go again, I’ll definitely stay here.

Hotel was beautiful

Lovely staff throughout the whole of the stay. Our room was amazing (I think we may have been double upgraded - so thank you!), and super clean. We loved the additional extra to celebrate my birthday. Those small things really add a special something to the trip.

The service was slow at the bar when we'd come back from the theatre, It was just one guy - and we didn't mind waiting, but for just one glass of wine we waited about 15 mins.

We loved the quality of the hotel, the food and the expertise of the staff who obviously care about their guests.

Fantastic location in Old Town. Beautiful hotel with great staff. Food was great but loads of bars and restaurants nearby.

Their "basic" room is top notch - generous size, comfortable bed, bathroom good Bistro menu superb - beautifully cooked steak nd well matched Malbec red wine Breakfast excellent

Fantastic location. Hotel itself was superb. Really personal, beautifully furnished and decorated throughout. Just oozes quality the moment you walk into the small courtyard. Staff all really attentive and super friendly. Hospitality at its best. Something that large chains even 5 star high end chains rarely achieve.

We got upgraded to the Thierry Lombard suite. Wow. What a room and what a bed!! Emperor size I believe. It was all nearly perfect but for one thing. The shower is simply not strong enough. It’s a large rain shower that is barely capable of dripping water. I’m not exaggerating. Maybe there was a problem with water pressure during our stay but if not then something has to be done to improve the water pressure of the shower.

Staff was exceptionally helpful.

It was a bit difficult to get around the hotel. Rooms are not numbered, they have wine names. Charming but I got lost more than once.

It was close to everything, the breakfast was great, the room was large and had everything I needed. The hotel and the room were gorgeous. I thoroughly enjoyed the tub after walking around in the cold drizzle of the day. I was able to come and go from the property to the castle a couple of times while I was there. Nice desk area to do a little work.

The lift didn't go all the way to my suite which sucked with my heavy luggage, but I need to pack less next time!

From the moment we checked in we were treated like old friends! Gorgeous, atmospheric hotel in a great location for exploring Edinburgh by foot! Our room was upgraded as we were celebrating my husbands birthday, champagne and chocolates waiting for us! We stayed on a dinner, bed and breakfast, the food was exceptional and staff throughout the hotel were warm and welcoming.

Only being able to stay one night! Our fault as that's all we booked! Will know better next time! Not being able to post more photos, I took lots!

Every thing was more than i hoped for and the women at the desk she was amazing and helpfull from when we walked in the door untill we walked back out again and breakfast was realy good lovely all we could of asked for .

I would have loved a roll topped bath in my room but it wasn’t to be. Next time…
