Hotel du Vin, Edinburgh

Very good hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The premises were clean, well-organised, and tastefully decorated. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was a very good size. Although I don’t smoke, I noticed there was a sheltered smoking area in the courtyard for those who do. The breakfast was excellent, and the bar area was perfect for a last nightcap. Having a kettle and daily water in the room was also a nice touch.

Location. In the heart of the old town, great location to investigate the myriad of streets and alleys in the area.

Excellent location. Lovely staff, very attentive, polite and knowledgeable of wines and food. We took the dog and had to lay extra which is normal but the difference is you get an excellent doggy bag where other hotel just charge and say it for extra cleaning. Top marks

The Menu’s were to fancy for us.

This is the second time I’ve stayed and like the hotel very much. Breakfasts in the morning are delicious.

Just a small . My ensuite was very small and it was difficult to get out of the bath because of space. I don’t recall this from my previous stay and I would still definitely stay here again. But I would check my layout for the bathroom for future stays.

Beautiful place with a nice atmosphere, very good location near to the city centre. Breakfast was great and the rooms are nice and cosy.

Great location and all the staff were exceptional! We loved having the tub in our room to have a soak after biking all day. Loved having the robes in the closet that were available for us. Bed, linens and room were very comfortable. The breakfast was great, and the staff were able to accommodate my dietary needs.

The space outdoors has a fire, and it was always busy, and seats were full when we tried to use it. Maybe having another one would be nice.

This is a really lovely hotel. My room was comfortable, clean and quiet, and all the staff were very friendly. There was also a cosy bar to unwind in after a long day sightseeing. The location is fantastic, not too far from the main town and just across the street from the university, which means there are lots of affordable restaurant options nearby.

Invited my boyfriend for his 30th birthday. We loved the stay. Beautiful interior and very clean. The staff were amazing and kind.

Süper comfy bed and the combination of a roll top bath and double shower. We had Sunday lunch at the restaurant, which was delicious.

The website indicates that there is a walking humidor, but this is no longer the case. In addition, the outside cigar smoking area has minimal heating and shots very early (before 10:30pm) so is not suitable for enjoying a cigar on return to the hotel after a dinner.

It was expensive to stay and the breakfast wasn't great. Poached eggs were hard and the sausage was rubbish. For the expensive cost for two nights the breakfast should be superb and it wasn't.

The staff at Hotel Du Vin is exceptional - the room was lovely and the location sheer perfection. I only ate one meal at the restaurant - breakfast one day - but was treated with such kindness and care. I selected this hotel based on reviews and was not in the least disappointed.

Fantastic location to see all the main tourist sites. Lovely ambiance in the hotel. Staff were really welcoming, helpful and professional. Our room was stunning, beautifully appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, great choice of hot food and a superb spread of buffet options. Loved the porridge!

Excellent location, but also nice and quiet. Beautifully presented hotel and our bedroom was lovely,. We had a great night sleep and the breakfast was great, especially as we're vegetarian which can sometimes be problematic. Staff are first class and it will be my go to hotel next time we're in Edinburgh

Tiny issue - providing toothpaste would be helpful

I booked this for my son and his girlfriend. They told me it was the nicest hotel they had ever stayed at. They loved the room, the food, the location and were blown away by the attention to detail. Now I need to go!

The hotel was located walking distance to everything we wanted to see.

The rooms are named after wineries…no room numbers. It was difficult to find our room since there are many hallways and staircases and no logical order to the room names.

A very lovely stay in a particularly good location. We found everything clean and comfortable and the staff was particularly pleasant and helpful. The only reason for less than a perfect score was they were understaffed and for me, something important, the coffee was terrible.

Location of the hotel is great. It has a causy envireonment.
