The location

Short staffed

Everything about the Hotel is excellent, in particular the quality of staff and the physical environment of the room and the common areas.

However, the arrival/drop- off arrangements for a car are poor. The parking arrangement they have with a commercial car park is excellent, but is 5 mins walk away.

Dinner was OK but not great.

We were greeted in the lobby by Albert and Kathy during our stay. Both employees were welcoming, kind, and very accommodating. Our servers in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner were also very attentive and friendly. Every meal was delicious.

The property was inviting and decorated beautifully for Christmas. The rooms were well lit, nicely decorated, and comfortable. Christmas morning we woke up to the sweetest surprise, the staff placed Christmas stockings on our door filled with crackers, candy and chocolates thoughtful treats.

A first-class hotel with pleasant and helpful staff, who are more than happy to help with any questions that you may have. The whole place is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The room is well appointed and has everything needed to make your stay enjoyable, including a huge walk-in shower and roll-top bath!

Not an issue, more an observation. The room was definitely on the warm side, even with setting the heating to low before heading into the city. We opened a window to let some air in, which let's in the inevitable city noise...

It was lovely, so really no complaints as such .View was some scaffolding and a flat roof, but it's not really the view that would bring you here I guess. A biscuit with the tea would have been a nice touch. I do know that despite these wee things, I would dehinitely stay again. You did ask!!! Lol

Very good hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The premises were clean, well-organised, and tastefully decorated. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was a very good size. Although I don’t smoke, I noticed there was a sheltered smoking area in the courtyard for those who do. The breakfast was excellent, and the bar area was perfect for a last nightcap. Having a kettle and daily water in the room was also a nice touch.

Location. In the heart of the old town, great location to investigate the myriad of streets and alleys in the area.

Excellent location. Lovely staff, very attentive, polite and knowledgeable of wines and food. We took the dog and had to lay extra which is normal but the difference is you get an excellent doggy bag where other hotel just charge and say it for extra cleaning. Top marks

Location was good for getting around the city. Bed was comfortable and overlooked the courtyard which was quiet. Slept well.

The Menu’s were to fancy for us.

This is the second time I’ve stayed and like the hotel very much. Breakfasts in the morning are delicious.

Just a small . My ensuite was very small and it was difficult to get out of the bath because of space. I don’t recall this from my previous stay and I would still definitely stay here again. But I would check my layout for the bathroom for future stays.

Beautiful place with a nice atmosphere, very good location near to the city centre. Breakfast was great and the rooms are nice and cosy.

Quite a unique layout, liked all the discreet seating areas around the bar and lounge areas.

Great location and all the staff were exceptional! We loved having the tub in our room to have a soak after biking all day. Loved having the robes in the closet that were available for us. Bed, linens and room were very comfortable. The breakfast was great, and the staff were able to accommodate my dietary needs.

The space outdoors has a fire, and it was always busy, and seats were full when we tried to use it. Maybe having another one would be nice.

This is a really lovely hotel. My room was comfortable, clean and quiet, and all the staff were very friendly. There was also a cosy bar to unwind in after a long day sightseeing. The location is fantastic, not too far from the main town and just across the street from the university, which means there are lots of affordable restaurant options nearby.

Invited my boyfriend for his 30th birthday. We loved the stay. Beautiful interior and very clean. The staff were amazing and kind.

Loved everything

Süper comfy bed and the combination of a roll top bath and double shower. We had Sunday lunch at the restaurant, which was delicious.

The website indicates that there is a walking humidor, but this is no longer the case. In addition, the outside cigar smoking area has minimal heating and shots very early (before 10:30pm) so is not suitable for enjoying a cigar on return to the hotel after a dinner.

It was expensive to stay and the breakfast wasn't great. Poached eggs were hard and the sausage was rubbish. For the expensive cost for two nights the breakfast should be superb and it wasn't.

Perfect location, so central, perfect place to based for Royal Mile, Castle & all other tourist attractions. The breakfast is beautiful, lovely setting.
