The Merrion Hotel, Dublin

Great facilities and location

45 minute queue for breakfast. We were told by staff that this was normal because it was a Sunday morning… There were other areas within the hotel that breakfast could have been offered, which would have saved our waiting time, and surely if this was standard for a Sunday, as was suggested by reception staff, then the demand should be anticipated with a plan in place. Also, just want to say that this was our 3rd time staying, and we had never experienced such a delay at breakfast before…

Exceptional curated spaces, really enjoyed the festive high tea in the lounge. A champagne and still wine selection at the bar and breakfast was delicious. Room and bathrooms were spacious and staff were friendly and accommodating.

Noisy kids at early hours in the wellness area, the hotel should consider ring-fencing access to specific hours for families and others for adults only.

A very elegant hotel, undoubtedly, although we are glad that we spent only one night there, because the luxury and modernity of another 5 star hotel in Dublin we stayed the second night also made a huge impression on us, it's up to you what you like, if you prefer a noble hotel or more modern but definitely the Merrion will be one of our favorites in Dublin. The building is very noble, inside there is a beautiful garden that delights in summer, and in winter it is simply there, the staff took great care of us, the room was very comfortable, the bed too.

The restaurant is good but not outstanding.

The cavern bar was far too loud for me , so we didn’t stay there.

We spent a very lovely weekend at the Merrion. We really enjoyed the pool and the spa and the breakfast was fabulous. Very quiet and relaxing environment while being close to the city centre. We will be back!

Room excellent food very good and staff would be the reason I would return. It’s very pricey unfortunately but for a special stay in the capital and its location makes it a winner

The price of the rooms and restaurant costs are high so value for money is harder to accept. But other than that I can’t wait to visit there again soon

The staff were all polite and courteous, very helpful & professional. The room was clean , the bed very comfortable. Excellent location. The sauna and shower facilities were great to have after the marathon when a late check out couldn’t be facilitated.

Expensive. I booked the room almost a year in advance for €505. I spoke to another guest who booked the same type of room for the same night less than a week ago for €80 cheaper. I’ve stayed in this hotel many times, but this will put me off as a 1st choice from staying here again.

The personnel were very friendly and helpful and the hotel has a lot of character and is very comfortable.

One afternoon when we wanted to drink a cup of tea, there was no room neither in the lounges nor in the bar as there were so many people (probably not all guests at the hotel) enjoying afternoon tea.

Everything was just great! I celebrated my birthday here with friends, and we were blown away by the experience. Both restaurants were absolutely incredible — the two Michelin-starred Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud offers a fine dining experience like no other, while The Garden Room was perfect for a more relaxed yet still exceptional meal. The atmosphere, service, and attention to detail made this stay truly memorable. The hotel's facilities were also fantastic. We enjoyed relaxing in the cozy Drawing Rooms with their open log fires and treated ourselves to some amazing cocktails at No 23. The Merrion Spa and Health Club was a peaceful oasis where we made the most of the pool and sauna. I highly recommend this hotel for a special occasion or just a luxurious getaway. I will definitely return if I’m back in Dublin

I loved everything about my stay! The restaurants were incredible, especially Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud, and the atmosphere throughout the hotel was warm and welcoming. The spa and pool area were also very relaxing, making the whole experience perfect. Highly recommend!

We were very impressed by the little "additional" touches, such as the band to hold the cables from my charger box and spectacles cloth, because the staff had noted that the cables were dangling loose and we both wore spectacles. Reception, concierge and doormen were all very helpful in giving us directions and getting taxis. The room was spacious, clean and very well equipped. We enjoyed a meal in The Garden Room and were presented with a "Congratulations" plate of cake and fruit, as we were celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary (Emerald), in the Emerald Isle. Overall, we had a most enjoyable few days.

Everything! from the moment we walked into the hotel lobby you knew that you were going to enjoy the stay here The staff were helpful, very friendly and consummate professionals. Public spaces were very comfortable and we particularly enjoyed the garden area and being able to relax with drinks or snacks Our bedroom was supremely comfortable with all the amenities plus that one could want together with lots of little personal touches including little bon bons (to die for!) Everywhere was extremely clean Loved the atmosphere in the Cellar Bar. We returned from a late concert and amazed to find we could order snacks here until 1230 am! This hotel is obviously managed by a team who truly know what they are doing and their guests want!!

Bought a bottle of Chablis which was simply poor quality but still cost 75 Euro . Wine list very expensive and our room had a view of a side street which was not great.

I had a lovely big room at the back of the hotel which was very good news because the junction/road outside was being resurfaced at night and the noise would have kept me awake. Thank you Merrion Hotel.

The staff were exceptional ,from reception to housekeeping and restaurant, the concierge service was outstanding. The breakfast was lovely and great gluten free options(a rarity !)
