The Ritz-Carlton Las Colinas, Dallas
Spread across 400 acres of rolling hills in Irving, Texas, The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas is a massive luxury sanctuary with a deep local legacy. Longtime Dallas locals know it best as the former Four Seasons resort, which initially opened in 1986. Following a massive $65 million transformation, the property officially debuted its reimagined, ultra-premium Ritz-Carlton identity, blending high-end sophistication with classic Texas hospitality.
The gorgeous redesign was spearheaded by world-renowned firms Jeffrey Beers International and LEO A DALY. The design team beautifully wove the property’s ancestral roots as a historic horse and cattle ranch—originally called “Little Ranch on the Hills”—right into the architecture. Guests will spot subtle nods to this heritage everywhere, from custom saddle-stitch leather details and warm amber tones to contemporary equestrian-inspired artwork and ash-wood finishes.
A major crown jewel of the resort is its rich golfing history. The legendary TPC Las Colinas championship course, designed by Jay Morrish in consultation with golf icons Byron Nelson and Ben Crenshaw, was the proud host of the PGA Tour’s annual AT&T Byron Nelson tournament for more than three decades. Today, the pristine green expanses double as a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, heavily emphasizing local wildlife preservation.
Foodies have plenty to look forward to here, notably Knife Italian by Michelin-starred chef John Tesar, a high-end steakhouse concept that pairs local Texan purveyors with bold Italian flavors. Guests can also grab a botanical-inspired cocktail at Bar Juniper in the main lobby, or escape to the freshly updated luxury private villas clustered right along the edge of the golf course.
The resort’s location makes it incredibly easy to explore both the cultural and natural attractions of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Right down the road, you can marvel at the famous *Mustangs of Las Colinas*, a breathtaking, larger-than-life bronze sculpture of wild horses galloping through a granite stream. If you fancy a short drive into downtown Dallas, iconic landmarks like the Dallas Arts District and the historic Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza are just minutes away.
Expert reviews
“Looking like a Frank Lloyd Wright–designed country club, this hotel is quite possibly the city’s best. Rooms have balconies that overlook the Tournament Players Course, site of the Professional Golfers’ Association’s EDS Byron Nelson Championship. Luxurious resort-style rooms take on warm earth tones.”
