Steel House Hostel, Copenhagen

Close to the train station. Glad we could checkin and checkout through an app and that we could get a 6 beds for 4 people, the place is cramped! It was clean.

Super small, even with 6 beds for 4 people, still felt a bit claustrophobic. I guess that’s expected from a motel, but I’ll probably skip this type of accommodation in the future

Fantastic location. Clean 4 bed dorm was very spacious and considerate to needs- privacy curtains, hooks in the bedroom and bathroom, lockers, large floor area. Was very impressed. Good social spaces throughout with the games, cinema room and bar etc.

Extra charges to use the kitchen, pool and the gym. This wasn't clear at the time of booking. However, I understand the reasoning behind- the pool was very small (looks bigger on pictures) so it stopped it getting crowded and all the facilities were clean and well maintained considering the age of the majority of guests.

I thought the bed was cozy and I liked how it at least covered my face so it tricked me into thinking there was privacy

Having the bathroom and shower IN the room was bad for light, smell, and noise. Woke up every time someone needed to use it and I just stayed up at 5:30am. Also I used the self check-in and I got all the way to the fifth floor before it occurred to me to ask for the wifi password.

4 days for towels to be changed or trash can to be emptied is a long time for a room of 4.

Great location and value for money. We booked out one room but only for 3 people. This gave us enough space otherwise it would be a bit crammed. Staff was very friendly and the social areas were buzzing with people most of the time. So there seems to be an active social life going on as well.

Shower and bathroom were very small. You have to pay extra for the gym, which seemed a bit weird. Same as for the pool. If you advertise it as part of the hotel, either mention that this has to be paid extra or don‘t mention it as part of the package.

The location was great, amenities were plenty and everything appeared to work!

I liked everything, the family moaned a little about a blocked shower drain, but this was quickly sorted.

It was in a great location, walking distance to the train station/bus stops. Nice peaceful area. Super clean hostel with lots of activities to do in the hostel.

I stayed in a 6 bed dorm and it was really squishy not much room for luggage. No blinds for the beds meant I kept getting woken from the sensor lights in the bathroom as my bed was right beside it.

Great location, great bike rentals, kind staff, clean facilities. Quality cafe with any snacks or food you might need. Great kitchen space as well. Easy self check-in.

The Steel House is located a relatively short distance from the central train station. We tried to use the AeroGuest app as suggested by Stell House, but it took several attempts to check in on line prior to arrival and issues with using the lifts. You can still check in on arrival and have key cards which we chose to use in the end. and the lifts, Although the rooms were small it was what we expected, and having the small balcony was great. The cafe/bar was great.

AeroGuest App was a bit buggy when we were using it. The room was clean but there was some rubbish on the balcony (beer can, plastic wrap).

Location was in the middle of everything. We could walk everywhere. Facilities were modern, rooms were clean, beds were comfortable

Great location for seeing Copenhagen. Fairly close to Tivoli Gardens and the train station and easy walking distance to the main square, the pedestrian street, and other sights. Right next to the lake with walking and running paths. Pretty close to food options, including inexpensive grocery stores. The shared kitchen is inexpensive and easy to use, well stocked with dishes and cooking equipment. Plenty of space in public areas to sit down and plug in. The hostel seems safe and lots of on-site staff. The hostel has bikes onsite in a big, safe inner courtyard - you can rent bikes for a 24-hour period. There is (expensive, daily) parking available in an underground parking garage as well as lots of (expensive, hourly) parking on the street nearby.

It's a hostel, so things are tight and personal space is limited. Lots of music and things happening - but just not my vibe. It can get pretty loud into the night. Parking is expensive.

The room was clean and the bed too. It was a bit too warm inside and the ventilation system was not working properly until it was fixed by maintenance.

Too hot and the ventilation worked only after maitenance fixed it.

There is nothing to "close" the bed like a curtain and the bathroom is inside the room with a very strong light

The location is perfect! Near Vesterport Station, in an area with plenty of bars and restaurants. The staff were very friendly. The building has various amenities (gym, pool, kitchen, bar, etc).

I don't think it's a good idea for each room to have its own AC control; it tends to cause arguments among the guests. The music in the bar was pretty loud, considering it's a place where many people are clearly working.

Location was great and most tourist spots were walking distance. Central Station was a 5-min walk to and fro. This hostel has everything -- bar, pool, gym, cinema etc, but an an extra cost. I also like that the whole building is just the hostel itself. It was clean everywhere. Great value for money. Most staff were friendly and willing to help. Bed was spacious enough to move freely.

I hope the door to the bathroom and toilet were not see through. It was made of glass and though not clearly transparent, silhouette was visible. It is a sliding door and keeps making noise everytime someone would use them. I can also hear the shower sound, which is kind of weird. I wish the beds had curtains at least.

The room is clean, location is next to the train station. I really like their bed. Most of hostel, they always provide very soft bed and quality is not good. Their bed is reasonably firm.

When I do the self check in. there is no information regarding the kitchen and other facilities. I suggest you can add this informaiton in the app.

Nice location. Nice amendities. Gym, pool, game room, relaxation areas, work desks.

Room is very small. Bathroom small. Shower not the best as water spills out onto main bathroom floor. Some issues with the app to unlock the lift/door. It doesn't say it, but you go to unlook the lift, it also opens main entrance door. If you have trouble opening, staff at main desk 10ft away seem used to this and just ignore a lot of people trying to get in, maybe assuming they have key card. You must have device location on your phone, but the app will tell you you need bluetooth on instead.

The public area of the hostel is spacious. It’s quite nice to have a private bathroom in the room.

I stayed in the 4-people room, and the room was not ventilated enough, we felt too warm to sleep well.

I loved the neighborhood, there is a beautiful lake just a block away. The facilities are nice, modern and clean. The common area is huge.

Maybe put some curtains on the bed bunks so the light does not affect too much.

Steel House catered for all our needs perfectly, whether dependent on catering and easy check in and departure online. Super storage facility post check out too. We had late flights booked and wanted to make the most of our day without cumbersome luggage in tow

We were lucky to book a room with a balcony and personal shower, but space around our bed was very tight. It limited access to our belongings, which we used regularly. It wasn't easy to access everything stored under the bed

Great location right in city centre and value for money, comfortable beds and clean facilities, large common areas downstairs around the lobby, and pool / kitchen / etc. available also (for extra money)

shared room was a bit crowded (too many beds crammed into too little space) which inevitably made storing luggage (even just once the floor) a bit challenging if you still wanted to be able to walk somewhere between the beds

Very good location. Nice design. Room mates were friendly and respectful. Locker to lock and store your belongings in the room (bring your own lock though).

Unhelpful staff, only referring to online check-in. Very small room and super small toilet/shower with no place to put anything (clothes, toiletries). No shelf or curtain next to the bed. Very hot in the room.

- The bathroom in the room had a frosted glass door which is a problem when someone goes to the bathroom at night because all the room lights up - Room very small with little space - Difficult to climb in the upper bed !! Stay was comfortable. Common kitchen was a big help and at a reasonable fee.

Room with private bath/ toilet was too small for 2 persons. TV not working.

It is a very modern hostel, great facilities, great staff.

I stayed in a very comfortable 4 bed all female room. Which was great. The rooms were a luxury compared to all the other hostels I have been. The only problem was that it was a Friday night and in the right next building there was a night club that played very loud music until 4 am and no one could sleep in my room. Besides the music you could hear people shouting at the street coming off the night club (probably deaf from the loud noise) and a lot of noise from the cars there was a car hoking constantly at about 3 am (which I thought it was forbidden by law to honk at night).

Really great facilities and spaces to hang out, clean, friendly and safe.

My room was like a sauna due to the sun beating down on the windows all day. Not so much an issue when there’s plenty of places to hang out around the property, but a little steamy trying to go to sleep.

It is clean and easy to access and safe.

Other people making to much noises late and also the glass doors of the bathrooms because they don’t stop the light even when closed so people who wants to shower or go to the bathroom late/early wake up the others

I didn't know that the kitchen, the pool....have extra payment. When we checked in nobody explained us how it works. Also when I made the booking, I didn't see this information.

Location is very good. Center is very near. Kitchen is very usable. Sometimes when it is crowded there might now be enough bowls or space to sit. The baggage storage is very nice. I liked the self check in option. Ventilation is quite strong. I liked that in morning it was not feeling that all people slept there.

The corridor in the room is very narrow. If someone does leave their baggage there then it is hard to walk there. I was suprised that there were no curtains for bed. That made it less private. It is understandable that with limited corridor capacity, rolling doors are used, but they do not have as good sound insulation and smells also travel freely. Ventilation unit is loud. It would be cool if there would be more storage space in area of bed.

Great facilities, a lovely atmosphere, and a good location. I stayed in a 6-bed female dorm and had a really pleasant experience. The vibes were great, and if I ever come back to Copenhagen, I would definitely stay here again.

Having the toilet and shower inside the room, although convenient can also still feel a little uncomfortable, specially when they were right in front of my bed.

This was smallest 4 person hostel room and bed in my 20 years hostels experience.There is even not chair or table to sit there and take on shoes..Or sort clothes.

The atmosphere, gym, pool, tv room, games, eventhing was phenomenal. Really nice staff. Clean toilets and good evening programmes.

The rooms were small and feels cramped if entire room is occupied. The sliding translucent doors gets switched ON everytime someone moves close to the door. This puts a lot of light into the room. While showering the automatic lights goes OFF. Then you need to come out to get it ON again. The sensor needs to be moved close to the shower and away from the door. The locks for the locker are poorly designed. I could open the locker just by pressing and turning, eventhough I had padlocks. The ladders to go up the bed looks aesthetically beautiful but ergonomically it is flawed.
