Steel House Hostel, Copenhagen

Its amazing! The location, the staff, the bunk bed is clean, the bar and cafe, the waiting zone, everything is perfect and def would come again!

The room was a bit congested. Also, it needs some space and a table or something to open the luggage when using it.

Great stuff, clean room, modern design, well equipped kitchen but only one for 1000 people. Central railway is 1 stop. Nice lakes 20m nearby. Interesting activities like yoga, salsa, free walking tours. My first Scandi country impressed with good English, perfect system of transport , clean and simple design and chilly windy summers.

Long corridors and labyrinths on the floors, any room is far from kitchen. Fare but long/detailed check-in. Paid services: 1st time in life I payed to use kitchen((

no privacy in the dorms, could do with a curtain really at the very least. could do with better lighting too - i arrived at night and was left to fend for myself with getting a huge backpack in a high up locker in the dark.

Budget option for solo traveller, a lot of common space for working and chitchatting, kitchen available, bath towel provided.

Kitchen is overcrowded in dinner time, additional cost for luggage storage. My room is facing west, it’s very hot in the evening.

We asked with my friend to be in the same room, but the staff rejected it, but in my friends room was in the whole time an empty bed.

The staff was amazing; very kind, warm, and helpful. The ability to rent the bikes, with no reservation/notice, was great for us.

Copenhagen is expensive and the option of using a 6 person room as a family room made it more affordable. Also, it had a pool. The common spaces were nice. Close to train station.

There was an additional charge per person to use the pool and reservations of a time slot had to be made. Didn't realize that until we were ready to use the pool, but it worked out. The pool was quite cold so we didn't stay in too long. The top bunks are quite high off the ground.

The room was clean and equipped with private shower and toilet, even though it is a shared room. The staff was so kind to quickly help with hair dryer issue at 1 am. There are plenty of spaces to hang out and do activities.

The room was pretty much a bed and bathroom. There is no room for luggage (except under the bed) or anywhere to hang clothes. I know Copenhagen is notorious for small spaces, but this took it to another level.

This hostel is a very big one, but looks tidy and clean. The staff were able to help me several times when I had questions. The toilet door lock in our room was broken, and someone was sent to check it out on the same day after I reported it. Spacious lounge on the first floor to enjoy your coffee before starting a day, or relax with a pint in the evening. Beds clean and comfortable, several options for breakfast to go. Joined the walking tour of the city - really enjoyed it!

I would feel more comfortable with curtains on the bunk beds in shared rooms - allows for more privacy and peace of mind.

The location is great, close to the city centre, great staff and facilities.

Even if it is “just a hostel” it would be nice if the rooms would be vacuumed and washed on occasion. The bathroom was clean, but the rest of the room was terrible.

We liked the space under the bed for our luggage.

No curtains for privacy or against the light

New modern hostel. Towels included which is nice. Kitchen, pool or gym access are extra, though just a little more for those interested to use. Stayed 6 bed dorm. Modern, nice beds which are fixed so noise or rattling if person on top or bottom bed moves. Plug and light switch at each bed which is practical. Locker for each bed though so can bring your own lock or else buy one at reception if want to put lock. Not really a backpacker hostel so wouldn’t really recommend for solo travellers hoping to get to know fellow travellers in the hostel

Very little space in room, just a very narrow corridor between beds so very little space if you want to be at your luggage getting some stuff/packing etc. Also toilet and shower in the room itself which can be pro or con. Was in bed right across from toilet and unfortunately not everyone thinks to use the toilet not in the room for number 2. Also door of toilet is sort of non-transparent glass, so can’t see in or anything though at night if someone goes to toilet the light inside lights up the room itself, especially for two beds across. Should make the door less transparent for light

Excellent location, fast check-in without any contact, you just need your own mobile phone. Pool was also great.

It's not as close to other things in the centre as you might think - but really this is nitpicking. The steps up into the top bunk could be made safer/less slippy

As for a hostel - One of the best.

The upper bed was not comfortable.

Swimming pool, nice bar and lounge with some food sold, some organised activities, comfortable vibe, guests of all ages including families, great running alongside hostel around the ‘lakes’, good central location, good value for money.

Glad I was pre-warned about compact nature of dorm and (small) extra charge for use of pool/gym/kitchen.

Bed was comfortable, there was some privacy of the bed, but not much. It was clean and the place was close to city center, location was good.

You had to pay for everything. Okay, towel was free, but only one per stay. If you wanted to use the kitchen: there is a charge. If you want to leave your bag there: you have to pay :-( There was not much privacy, specifically in the shower and in the bathroom, they had glass doors.

Distance between the hotel and the Old City was very short, which made almost every trip avillable on feet. The room was also nice and clean, it has only 9 m2, but for 3 nights was comfortable.

Best hostel in Copenhagen. Good location, clean, kitchen is well stocked and you don't have to pay for it.

Nice hostel, but I much more preferred Next House from the same franchise. Staff is much more helpful and facilities seem to be better taken care of over there.

A member of staff redirected me to self check in when it wasn't that busy. I know that there's this option but I still prefer the interaction.

Great location – right in the city center, within walking distance of the central station, Tivoli, and other attractions. The hostel is stylish with an interesting lobby. There’s a lounge, café, TV room, arcade machines, pool, gym, and kitchen. Some facilities and activities require an additional fee. Every evening there’s a happy hour and themed events – quiz night, bingo, yoga. Check-in and check-out can be conveniently done online.

We had a private room with bunk beds. I usually have trouble sleeping in hotels, and this was no exception – the mattress and pillow were uncomfortable. The toilet and shower are separated by glass doors and have about 90% sound transparency, which gives no sense of privacy while using the bathroom or showering.

The location is perfect, close to the train station, very close to Tivoli and the shopping street and beautiful surroundings. The room was small but still very nice for two people. The bar, lobby and sitting area were great and very lively and fun. We checked in and out online and had a digital room key in my phone through the app. Everything very user friendly and easy to use. Over all we loved our stay there.

So bed is too soft, no hooks for clothes, very little space in the shower

The kitchen is good, with all the paraphernalia for cooking, 3 huge fridges, cooktops and a lot of space to eat. The bar beer was great, a lot of games & activities. The hostel it is close to a lot of attractions, easily reachable by Metro/Train/Bus which are all in close proximity of the hostel.

Clearly the rooms require a much better ventilation/AC. It was extremely hot inside the room during the night. The window only opens for 5 cm which doesn't help much with the ventilation as the AC inside the room seems to be very weak. Also, using the elevator with the phone app it's quite tedious and annoying. 9 out of 10 times it didn't worked and I had to request a separate plastic card so that I can use the elevator.

A bit irritating that a loud concrete drilling sound started near our room at 8 in the morning :-( and that cleaning already knocked on door at 8:30 in the morning

Very clean place with good vibes. I liked the events organized in the hostel and that you can rent a bike for whole day.
