I liked the location of the hostel, the staff was very friendly. Convenient check-in and check-out.

There's really very little space, nowhere to leave things. I'd like to see towels refreshed more often. Sometimes the door key cards didn't work (I was told this happens when a new person moves into the room).

It was above average, a dorm in a hostel.

The stairs for the bunk beds were kinda dangerous I fell on time because they were slippery.

Good location, a few blocks from the train station and right beside the lake. I stayed in a 6 bed dorm. Beds were comfy and bathroom (toilet and separate shower) in the room was great.

Disappointed that you have to pay for early luggage storage. Could not check in, even 1min before 3pm. Also disappointed that gym and pool are available only at extra charge!

Room and bathroom a good size ans very very clean. Fairly priced left luggage lockers.

The location was great. Lot of restaurants and bars nearby and it's an easy walk to the centre. The room and bathroom were small but fine. It's not a cheap place but in Copenhagen centre you can't really find cheaper places. The hostel itself seemed quite good in terms of providing lot of things for customers e.g. kitchen, swimming pool, gym, activities etc.

More shelves, hooks and hangers. It's okay that it's a small room but would have loved some hangers for clothes or shelves for our stuff. The space under the bad for luggages was very practical!

The location was great being very central and only a few steps away from the lake which was gorgeous for early morning walks. There was a high standard of cleanliness, bathrooms were cleaned daily with comfortable beds, nice cotton bedding and towels provided. As far as hostels go Steel house was pretty special. I liked the lounge area by the bar very cosy to unwind there after a long day exploring. I used the gym which was well equipped although didn’t get to use the pool. Staff were mostly helpful and the bike hire although a little expensive was very handy to have.

There were extra charges for many of the facilities; including using the kitchen which is standard in most other hostels. Breakfast was quite basic and as someone with a nut allergy some of the options I couldn’t have

I didn't like the fees to use the kitchen. To sleep during the week is 20£/night and the weekend is 50£/night/bed always sharing the room , so can't say that is cheap to explain the extra fees for using the kitchen.

I had a very good experience at Steel House Copenhagen. The hotel is right in the city center, making it easy to explore Copenhagen on foot or by public transport. The rooms and common areas were clean and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere felt modern and comfortable. The staff were friendly, the facilities were convenient, and everything worked smoothly. A solid choice if you want a clean, central, and affordable place to stay in Copenhagen.

Location was perfect, also the vibe and personel were great

I didn't like how the lights in the bathroom flicked on as somebody passed. I would also prefer maybe a separate toilet in the hallway and curtains by the bed, but that might be just preference.

Great location, very comfortable, easy to come and go.

The motion sensor lights in the bathroom was the worst. With the glass doors it lit up the entire room even with everyone else sleeping.

Pool

The social areas are nice and cozy, the rooms nice and clean. Very central location. In the 6-bed room each beds has its own light, two plus and USB plug as well as a wall 'bag/shelf' inside the bunk to put your phone/waterbottle etc

Only one thing, the rooms have no coathangers and the tiny hooks are not too easy to hang stuff on and for some clothing items it can be a bit damaging to hang on something like that. Also, the censor for the light in the shower could not see the movements in the shower sonlights went out and you had to open the shower door a bit for it to come back on. No biggie.

Friendly staff. Amazing position within the city. Organised hangouts with host Mati were fantastic to meet and connect with other travellers.

Bed had no curtains. Using the facilities cost extra, e.g. kitchen (even if you just need a mug).

I was in a room for 6 girls and I feel like the toilet door could have been thicker for the noise and maybe not have the light turn on every time someone got close to the door.

Lots of good tables to sit around in comfy chairs, food and drinks available, comfy beds, personal lockers.

The steps for climbing up to the upper bunk are slippery if you are wearing socks. The locker doors shut with a bang.

Access to pool, city centre location close to all amenities. Lovely friendly vibe in the communal areas.

There was a street party/nightclub next door that was quite noisy late at night

Propably the best hostel in Europe. Everything perfect, super clean, super easy checkin with an app, amazing price and location.

Fantastic location, knowledgeable and helpful staff, brilliant vibe and atmosphere, clean and comfortable room and I loved the inclusive way the lounge was organised so that you could have a drink at the bar whilst eating your own food from outside.

Its good value for money

The bedsheets on my bed is itchy. I just did not complaint anymore while I am currently in the hostel coz I will only be staying for 2 nights. It seems the bedsheets was not changed.

A top-notch hostel and excellent value. Very complete, well-maintained facilities (incl. a small pool and gym!). A few notes that might help other guests: 1. Their room categories are a little weird. The room photos are more accurate than the descriptions/icons. Sometimes "a bunk bed" means one bed in the stack of two, and sometimes it means the stack with both beds. A "Single" and a "Twin" are the exact same room, with 1 Full bed. I booked a Private Twin (which in standard hotel terms would mean a room with 2 separate beds) and got a dorm room with 3 stacks of bunk beds (6 beds total); I was assured that it was the correct room, and private, but I couldn't help but feel like 5 strangers were going to show up to occupy the other beds, and I can't possibly use so many bunk beds myself, so I asked to change to a Private Room with Terrace. Fortunately, there was one available. 2. The private Single/Twin rooms do not have a closet or lockers. The only storage space is an open cubby hole under the bed. The hole is big enough for 2 carry-on-size suitcases. There are 2 small wall hooks behind the door. Compact! 3. The front-desk staff are all nice people, but I found the women staff to be more helpful than the men in terms of anticipating what I'd need to know. The dudes seemed to assume guests already know everything. For example, Dude: Here's your key. Dudette: Here's your key, and by the way, the key app isn't working right now so just use your key in the elevator and door. Or another example, in response to a request to rent a bike: Dude: Okay, that's 100kr, here's the key. Dudette: That's 100kr, here's the key, you have the bike for 24 hrs, the bikes are around this corner and through the door in the courtyard, just find the one with the same number as your key; when you're done, just park the bike and bring the key back.

May be useful for some people to know: as of April 2026, there is construction in a couple of buildings adjacent to the hostel, with materials and equipment in the street. On some nights, I noticed 1, 2, or 3 homeless people sleeping/encamped outside those buildings. They didn't try to bother me, but their presence might make some guests (like solo women or families with small children) feel uncomfortable. Easily avoided by walking around the block on the side next to the lake. (I didn't note any other construction-related issues.) The ground floor lobby/cafe/work/social spaces music is often really LOUD, like the hostel is doubling as a disco (which is kind of the high-energy "New York" vibe that it advertises). If you want some Danish 'hygge' or quiet to work or chat, you may have to find a nearby cafe or bench by the lake.

The kitchen is awesome, and the swimming pool and the staff super friendly. The location is great as well.

I didn't like that we needed to pay for everything else on top of the room. Had to pay, for swimming, kitchen and almost all the games. It is really expensive to pay for such a small room and they said the room would be clean every 4 days, we were there for 6 and it wasn't clean once.

Great property, very comfortable beds, excellent facilities and a very good location for exploring the city on foot. A short walk to the central train station. The staff are very friendly too.

I stayed with my teenage children for 3 nights (Wed-Fri). We booked a private room. It was perfect until the Friday night; very noisy and we couldn’t get to sleep until about 1am. Otherwise no complaints

Nothing, it was as expected.

Due the circumstances of cancellation in train traffic in Copenhagen I saw this as a perfect opportunity to stay at one of my favourite hostels. What I liked about it is the 1. comfort of beds 2. sociable people and 3. great location.

Something I didn’t like was perhaps the constant lights that went off and on when you entering the bathroom. Mostly for other peoples point of view while sleeping in the dark . I would be one of them . Perhaps there’ll be more of a light switch, instead as a suggestion. Nothing more to say . I love this place.

The location is good and the beds were quite comfy. A female dorm was fairly quiet.

Unfortunately the fact that this hostel charges extra for the use of the kitchen is absolutely insane. I´ve been staying in hostels for 20 years and I´ve never seen this before. Also the dorms are very tiny, I stayed in a 6 bed female dorm and there was no room to open your suitcase and there was just one toilet and one shower. You can imagine the problem when 6 ladies want to use it in the same time. You also hear everything through the glass doors. No big communal toilets and showers available where you can go without queing. There was a sticker that the bathrooms are cleaned every 4th day and the cover of the toilet seat was hitting me in the back everytime I sat down. Not pleasant at all.

I'm really satisfied with my choice. My neighbours were very polite and quiet. The bathroom was properly cleaned. The room fully met my expectations. The location is within walking distance of Copenhagen's tourist attractions.

Keep paid luggage storage in your mind.
