Steel House Hostel, Copenhagen

First time in hostel. Exceptional particularly for younger people. Being a senior, it was cramped, but workable.

Room for feet or suitcase, not both!

The atmosphere of hostel ,location and staffs are really perfect. But I didin’t like the room, firstly the room was so small for 6 people, it was not comfortable specially the bathroom, insulation was very poor, you could hear everything.

Good location. Good bikes for rent at a price of 130 dkk per 24h per bike.

Small rooms, a bit of machine noise coming from the ventilation and the outside.

Check in and out was easy, very useful to be able to store bags after check out for a reasonable price. Location was perfect, very easy to walk or get on public transport

Lack of storage in the room - we had expected it to be very small, but would have appreciated better storage as there was no shelving etc to put anything on, only space for the suitcase under the bed. The room itself was clean but the exterior of the window/ facade was not, which was off putting when the curtains were open

Helpful & friendly staff, plenty of activities in lobby (gym is great for a hotel/hostel), very convenient location (right next to Metro line), comfortable bed areas. For an expensive city, this is definitely one of the best value options for accommodation

Toilet/showers were a little annoying, the sliding doors are noisy themselves and dont block out noise from within. Combined with the sensor lights, it makes it easy to wake someone up sleeping next to it. Room was a little dusty in parts

Not letting people check in after 24h00 Someone checked into the room at 03h00 😞 an woke the whole room up 🥴 The bathroom light would be great if it was dimmed at night as it is very bright Curtains around the beds would be amazing for light and privacy!

Fantastic location! Hostel like a hotel, lots to do and enjoy. Staff was very helpfull when I came a cross with problem. Kitchen was good size. Can absolutely recommend this hostel!

Location, style and common spaces

Perfect and helpful stuff, nice pool, comfy lobby. Good mattress in the bed, linen OK. Bike rental directly in the house. Our room was quiet during the night.

The sink was smelly. Little bit mould in the shower. Very small room, no chair, no shelves.

Cleanness and safety. Warm atmosphere.

There was an additional fee for using the kitchen and storing luggage and playing billiards.

Bed was comfortable. Lockers were convenient.

Everything was an up charge. Want to use any of the stated facilities? Pool, kitchen, gym? Gotta pay for it. Lockers? Gotta pay. The bathrooms in room are poorly designed. The only place to put your stuff is on the toilet. Towel hooks are placed so if there are hanging towels and you sit on the toilet, they are literally in your face. No bath mat, so you either have to leave the floor wet for your roommates or dirty your one towel to wipe up. There is no privacy in the bathroom. And while you shower, the lights go off every two minutes so you have to open the door and stick your arm out. In the summer, when there happens to be sun, it gets quite hot on the top bunks and there is no room temp controls. And for us older folks, the top bunk stairs are terribly designed.

Locations (few minutes walking to Vesterport or Kobenhavn or just took a bike!) and Self-service (check-in and check-out) are real convince. Big bathroom also is a plus. I got a conner room with 3 balcony with a view to river, great to get chill (no smoking!) Lobby and lounge where you can have a chat or watch the world cup. There was also a kitchen, gym, game section and pool to use.

A sauna when you get a room in conner with 3 balcony and glass window :) The real issue for me was the wifi (real slimy slow at peak time - like the evening when people are gathered at the lobby).

I really appreciated the central location and the availability of parking. Having a shared kitchen was also handy.

The room was a shoebox, like really. We only stayed 2 nights, any more and I might start getting claustrophobic 😅

I loved its proximity to everything. Metro, central station, Tivoli. It was convenient and had everything you could possibly need for a weekend away.

The mattress topper was pulling away from the mattress and it was really hard to fix so that I wasn’t laying directly on the mattress with no sheet.

The location is great, quiet area, very walkable. It’s a vibrant, comfortable hostel/hotel. Would happily stay here again.

We were in a private room and we knew it would be small but didn’t anticipate just how tight it would be. There was really only space for one of our suitcases and even then it took up half the floor space. The bed has space under it to stow a bag which is useful.

Excellent hostel...nice atmosphere, comfy communal area and good facilities. I was travelling solo and had a lake side room which was lovely. Had the use of a bike so it was lovely being so close to the lakes to cycle alongside them and also close to the city centre

Rooms are quite small but fine for just sleeping and the communal area on the ground floor is great for reading/relaxing.

It was a very convenient moment for me to stay one night. The property was there for me when I needed them due to the train delay. Very kind people. I like the property for their location and the great use of money at a very considerate moment when I most needed it.

Something I didn’t like must be the flashing lights when you opening the bathroom door , automatic touch, but also the policy to be quiet at a certain time . When you coming back from a heavy work shift late at night. Perhaps for next time they should provide with more shampoo and not only the samples in the shower .

The location was really convenient, just a 3 minute walk from the nearest train station. The place was really nice overall, with a nice lobby area and the rooms were also great. The beds were comfortable, and the lockers to store your stuff were big, but personally I couldn't really figure out a way to lock them (but that's a small issue and I just didn't really bother trying to find a way to do it)

There weren't any privacy curtains for the beds, though I guess if you were sleeping on the top bunks it would be fine (but this is just a minor thing). Other than that I don't really have anything negative to say.

I was in a 6 bed dorm .Had requested a lower bunk but had to have too bunk.The climb was really difficult and too few steps quite dangerous.They changed me to lower bunk the following 2 night but had to pay extra 100 kr cleaning fee..Its a great hostel but not if u have arthitic knees.

Great hotel, clean rooms and a good location. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it.

The hotel was nice overall, but most activities were paid and the prices were quite high. More reasonable pricing would make the experience much better for guests.

The location is very close to central station. It has very nice common spaces and the whole thing is well organized. Many staff were super friendly. The beds were comfy.

The shared rooms are tight especially when you don't know the others. It was hot in the room at night

Close to the train station. Glad we could checkin and checkout through an app and that we could get a 6 beds for 4 people, the place is cramped! It was clean.

Super small, even with 6 beds for 4 people, still felt a bit claustrophobic. I guess that’s expected from a motel, but I’ll probably skip this type of accommodation in the future

Fantastic location. Clean 4 bed dorm was very spacious and considerate to needs- privacy curtains, hooks in the bedroom and bathroom, lockers, large floor area. Was very impressed. Good social spaces throughout with the games, cinema room and bar etc.

Extra charges to use the kitchen, pool and the gym. This wasn't clear at the time of booking. However, I understand the reasoning behind- the pool was very small (looks bigger on pictures) so it stopped it getting crowded and all the facilities were clean and well maintained considering the age of the majority of guests.

I thought the bed was cozy and I liked how it at least covered my face so it tricked me into thinking there was privacy

Having the bathroom and shower IN the room was bad for light, smell, and noise. Woke up every time someone needed to use it and I just stayed up at 5:30am. Also I used the self check-in and I got all the way to the fifth floor before it occurred to me to ask for the wifi password.

4 days for towels to be changed or trash can to be emptied is a long time for a room of 4.

Great location and value for money. We booked out one room but only for 3 people. This gave us enough space otherwise it would be a bit crammed. Staff was very friendly and the social areas were buzzing with people most of the time. So there seems to be an active social life going on as well.

Shower and bathroom were very small. You have to pay extra for the gym, which seemed a bit weird. Same as for the pool. If you advertise it as part of the hotel, either mention that this has to be paid extra or don‘t mention it as part of the package.

The location was great, amenities were plenty and everything appeared to work!

I liked everything, the family moaned a little about a blocked shower drain, but this was quickly sorted.

It was in a great location, walking distance to the train station/bus stops. Nice peaceful area. Super clean hostel with lots of activities to do in the hostel.

I stayed in a 6 bed dorm and it was really squishy not much room for luggage. No blinds for the beds meant I kept getting woken from the sensor lights in the bathroom as my bed was right beside it.

Great location, great bike rentals, kind staff, clean facilities. Quality cafe with any snacks or food you might need. Great kitchen space as well. Easy self check-in.

The Steel House is located a relatively short distance from the central train station. We tried to use the AeroGuest app as suggested by Stell House, but it took several attempts to check in on line prior to arrival and issues with using the lifts. You can still check in on arrival and have key cards which we chose to use in the end. and the lifts, Although the rooms were small it was what we expected, and having the small balcony was great. The cafe/bar was great.

AeroGuest App was a bit buggy when we were using it. The room was clean but there was some rubbish on the balcony (beer can, plastic wrap).

Location was in the middle of everything. We could walk everywhere. Facilities were modern, rooms were clean, beds were comfortable

A lot of people smoking outside and the doors are left open so the smoke drifts indoors

Great location for seeing Copenhagen. Fairly close to Tivoli Gardens and the train station and easy walking distance to the main square, the pedestrian street, and other sights. Right next to the lake with walking and running paths. Pretty close to food options, including inexpensive grocery stores. The shared kitchen is inexpensive and easy to use, well stocked with dishes and cooking equipment. Plenty of space in public areas to sit down and plug in. The hostel seems safe and lots of on-site staff. The hostel has bikes onsite in a big, safe inner courtyard - you can rent bikes for a 24-hour period. There is (expensive, daily) parking available in an underground parking garage as well as lots of (expensive, hourly) parking on the street nearby.

It's a hostel, so things are tight and personal space is limited. Lots of music and things happening - but just not my vibe. It can get pretty loud into the night. Parking is expensive.
