Steel House Hostel, Copenhagen

I like the pod style beds. It makes it feel more private in a 6 bed room. It was modern. It was quite clean, not immaculate. Had lockers in the room (you need your own lock). Bed linen and towel provided. Great location. Train and attractions within walking distance. Felt very safe walking at night in the area.

The lockers were in a bad position behind the door, so if anyone walked into the room, the door would slam off the lockers. The shower room was very small, it was a bit hard to move around but still functional. An extra railing on the top bunk would be good because I felt like I might fall out. Hidden costs - paying to use the guest kitchen etc.

Body hair on the floor of room and down the side of the bed Room very small - only 2 of us in a 4 bed room, nowhere to store large bags or to sit apart from on bed. Room to warm and unable to alter air con temperature. Had to pay to use the kitchen. Not allowed to use the fridge unless you are staying more than 2 weeks. Charge for use of things that are standard in hostels

the isolation of the beds is not enough, semi-transparent panels look stylish, but it isn't the best of ideas, you wake up every time somebody switches the light on and off, and it goes on all night long. some curtains to provide more privacy would be great as well

Super efficient and high quality, especially for the price.

Room was clean, and it was in a safe neighborhood. Close to grocery stores and the train station. Staff happy to answer any questions I had. Close to the central train station and stores if you needed to get some food.

The bed for upper bed is too high and slippery if my feet are still wet. There is no towel for floor.

The location was very good and close to the train station and a few minutes walk from Tivoli and other attractions. I had no trouble finding my way from and to the airport. I even loved the cinema room which was quite nice to chill out in. You could also use the kitchen if you wanted to which cut some of the expenses as well It is next to a lake and you can take walks there as well- very relaxing

The rooms were smaller than l thought. But otherwise everything else was okay

No double bed for the family

The hostel looks really great in my opinion. The staff is nice and there's always something's going on. The highlights for me were two things. Firstly, there is a locker rental service in the –2 floor. You can left your luggage for 24 hours for something around 10 euros. The locker can be opened many times without stopping/renewing the rental service. If you exceed the paid time, you just pay the difference. Honestly, I think that anyone can use this service cause you don't need any identification from the hostel to use it. Second highlight for me was the fact that each room with shared beds has its own bathroom. And mine was pretty clean, so I am really grateful for this — not all hostels do this job quite right, at least in my experience. I would also say that the bed itself was nice and looked a bit more secure and private than usually in hostels.

I did not quite like the strict check-in policy — it cannot be made earlier than 15:00. And this is literally impossible since the check-ins are made on a computer by yourselves. And the computers are just locked up until 15:00. I am totally fine with not going inside my room before 15:00 — I read the property rules, it's ok. But why I cannot check in at 13:00 and then explore city until midnight just because I would love to do this? And then directly go sleeping instead of trying to check in using computer after a couple of beers. Anyways, for me it was not problematic, I just do not quite understand why make it so inflexible for traveling people. Apart from that not many things to be negatively reviewed (for a hostel, I mean).

The staff was friendly and helpful, and the facilities were well-maintained. The common areas were inviting, and the location was convenient.

Light sleepers may want to bring earplugs.

The location was perfect, the atmosphere in the house was very good. Lower beds were perfect, staff was great. Breakfast-options are ok.

The upper beds are only accessible via a very difficult ladder and should only be used by very fit people!

Room was dusty and had hair from previous guests.

Bed was heavily stained but did have a mattress topper on it so we weren’t directly in contact with the heavily stained mattress.

Industrial looking building. Very big and there are plenty of spaces to lounge. Even a swimming pool and gym (needs to pay)

Can't understand to pay to use the kitchen. A bit weird. Even need to pay to store luggages. Feel this place is rather commercialised.
