Steel House Hostel, Copenhagen

The location of the accommodation was great, very close to the central train station. The price was also very affordable, offering excellent value for money.

The room was quite small – only one or two people could move around while the others had to stay on the bed. When we arrived, there were hairs on the floor and in the bathroom, and one of the towels had a stain, which I hope simply didn’t wash out even though the towel otherwise looked clean. We also didn’t enjoy the food offered.

The staff was excellent. They were knowledgeable, friendly, warm, and embracing. The whole concept of the place was very unique, and I appreciated that.

The lighting was horrific. When one has to go to the toilet, the light is abrasive and sets off one's circadian rhythms. I know because I am a sleep specialist. I've assessed many hotels and spas professionally. The glass door to the toilet/shower area is ridiculous. It's heavy, loud and cumbersome. That there was nowhere to sit inside the room, except on the bed, or the toilet was annoying. For the price, I would say that it was more in favor of the house than for the guest

The shower drain was plugged and did water would not drain properly so The shower could only last about 3-4min before flooding. The bed were okay, but not very comfortable.

I dont know if each room is different or this hostel actually listens to reviews, but the room did have curtains on the big window. Very good location. Nice beds, easy to get into the top bunk. In 4 bed room the bathroom light wasnt THAT bad.

The cleaning lady came before the check out time (she didnt tell me to leave but i felt bad that she came in to take other checked out peoples bedding and she would have to come back after i check out). Automated lights in the bathroom were annoying. The rolling door didn't close 100%, literally no privacy in there sound wise.

Really good facilities and bed was comfortable.

WiFi is very weak in the bed room. Constantly seeing lights on and off when people come at various times do the night. Understandly this is not the fault of the hostel.

The beds had a bit of privacy and were very comfortable.

There was little to no room in the bedrooms making it very hard to maneuver, get dressed, etc.

Great location (next to Central Station, a short walk to the old town). Large common area w/ hot water for tea.

Room was tiny with no chair or small desk. Be aware that you pay for every „extra“: storing your bags in lockers, using the gym, etc.

It would be great to have curtains for each bed to provide more privacy and ensure a more comfortable sleep. Because of the light sensors in the room and the fact that there is no way to darken the bed area, it can sometimes be difficult to get proper rest.

It was an amazing stay. Arrive with a party. All staffs were very accomodating and happy assisting. Room was clean. Amenities are cool. Rented a bike and it was really awesome. Definitely highly recommended to stay.

The room was tiny, with the bed only fitting in and making it difficult for two to even move in the room. No table to put a water bottle. Too expensive for the offering.

It is modern, not far from center but cheaper than similar places, self check in, friendly staff, the room was tiny but it had a big window... I would go again.

I couldn't find the WiFi password, maybe i missed something in the self check in but it wasnt in the room. The bathroom sensor doesnt work where the shower is so after 2 minutes it goes off, you have to open the cabin and wave hand. The AC fan was constantly (fairly quietly) noisy but thankfully we didn't need it and turned it off. All little things to improve for next time.

No chair in our room. No beakers in the bathroom. Room was not cleaned at all during our stay. Need to pay for all extras ie kitchen use, pool etc.

Nice kitchen, luggage storage, proximity to the central station. The room was clean and quite in the night time. The kids loved the beds. Very friendly staff.

It maximize services beyond hostel expectation. I like pool, kitchen, lobby living area, with our limited budget. My kids even learnt to play chess and trump.

The room and bathroom was quite small. Add-on kitchen’s eating area was sometimes full. Refrigerator is full, no freeze. run out of utensil.

The vibe is great here! Solo travellers, families, couples everyone felt welcome. Great location right next to the center of Copenhagen.

The dorms were a bit too small, even by the regular dorm standards. Cleaning frequency can be a bit more.

Lockers in the room are unavailable to lock with standart travel padlock. You need one with thick ring, what makes these lockers just a shelf wothout it. PS Stop dancing salsa

We arrived late and it was easy to find, very close to Metro. We used the electronic card to get in. Beds were very comfy.

The bathroom lights are on a timer, but as we didn't know this we spent a good deal of time trying to work out how to shut them off. A simple sign in toilet area, shower area or near main lights would have avoided this hassle.

• The dorm itself! The bed is made, you get a fresh towel for which there’s a numbered hook in the bathroom; shower gel included, a hair dryer provided... Decent ventilation, never felt stuffy (4x). Honestly, what more could one wish for? • Proper lockers are always a bonus • The kitchen, although it (naturally) has its “peak hours”, and the 3rd fridge certainly needs to be repaired ASAP • Couldn’t be more central — literally a 5-minute walk from the train station • Never used but appreciated the gym & swimming pool

1) I found the common area/-s a little uninviting, but that’s only a matter of taste; 2) The WC downstairs (-1) deserves more regular cleaning 3) Why charge for something as silly as darts? Literally no electricity involved 🤔

Swimming pool was very cold and a lot smaller than the pictures showed. If going to pay £3 per person for 1hr some warmth is expected.

Nice rooms, a lot of nice spaces to chill relax watch something, eat, work, swim or workout. Bar was great too i had many breakfasts. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and sweet.

I didnt like the doors for shower and toilet inside the room that makes it less private as people can hear everything. The cleaning of the room was being done very early 9:30-10:00 earliest i’ve seen in all of my hostels stays.

there are no curtains in around the beds, and the lockers were inconveniently placed behind the door. Also, getting down from the top bunk is a death-trap if you're wearing socks.

Had an amazing stay at the Steel House Copenhagen! The staff at the reception were incredibly friendly and helpful, making check-in a breeze. The room was clean, modern, and comfortable. The location was perfect for exploring the city.

The room was very clean and the bunk bed set up was fun for a group of four. Everyone gets their own pod with their own outlets which is very nice. The actual property has a lot of events going on but up on the fourth floor you couldn’t hear anything which was great.

The only things to note are that the light system in the bathroom needs to be fixed because when having a shower every 2 minutes you needed to open the door for the light to turn on again. This would be easily fixed if they just switched it to a regular manual light switch. Also a bathroom mat should be provided so that the whole bathroom doesn’t get wet. Also important to note that although the kitchen is well equipped, it can get incredibly busy and overwhelming at times. So, if you are planning to properly use the kitchen I would say that you should try to cook outside of typical meal times.

I’d say this Hostel isn’t for solo travellers hoping to make friends. Strangest vibe of families and much older people (also lots of after work drinking in the bar from surrounding offices) made it hard to spot any other solo travellers. There was a little scheduled but minimal activities planned for people to get involved with. I’ve travelled alone a lot and always made a friend in the hostel but this time I didn’t… I would suggest more effort in activities or maybe a WhatsApp group for guests.

Good location, walkable to many cafes and restaurants. Co working space downstairs and quite vibey throughout the day. Fantastic value for money.

The rooms are small so to do anything, they encourage you to be downstairs in the communal space. I needed to take a call but couldn't find a corner that wasn't playing loud music.

The location was amazing, we could walk or bike everywhere. Staff was great, very helpful and friendly. There are lots of things happening and the vibe is great. The room was cute and me and my friends loved it. We stayed in a private room for 4 people.

Even tho the room was cute, it wasn’t very clean. The windows and drapes were smudged. We also found some stuff under the mattresses which wasn’t very pleasant.
