It was hard as a guest to book into the communal dinner. Being told we can book up tp two hours prior is incorrect. We couldnt book even 72 hours prior.

The location was great and I could walk to many attractions and find dining,shopping the statue of the little mermaid. The hotel room was super clean and I loved the retro decor. The Bar and Dining room are nice and offer meals.

The fire alarm went off the morning I was too check out but it all worked out so all good. But it was a little inconvenient

the property is as good as anything we have experienced any where in the world. tha area surrounding the property was fabulous. we loved Copenhagen

Kanalhuset was truly wonderful. It was clean, bright, beautifully decorated and very well located. We’d been traveling for a while and really appreciated the washing machine, it’s such a chore doing laundry, but such a luxury having a machine! The staff were all wonderful! The food served was also great. I highly recommend staying here.

Fantastic location, and really friendly staff! Bed was comfortable too, and the hotel room was well-equipped with everything we needed!

Breakfast food is delicious but on the pricier side for the small-sized portions. The room is in the basement, so not much of a view, but we had a heat wave while we were there so very much appreciated being in a lower unit to have cooler air!

Beautiful old building with wonderful mid century furnishings, feels more like a home than a hotel. Friendly helpful staff, the most delicious food and a the most comfortable bed. Location is perfect for geting around Copenhagen.

Danish design rooms are amazing. I loved all the simple yet cosy decoration. I stayed there for 2 nights and I felt super comfortable.

It was a converted historic property that was very neat and clean. While I prefer having a TV in my room, they didn’t have them, but it was so charming, I didn’t miss it. It was also just a short walk to shopping and not that far of a walk to the Little Mermaid statue.

The location, the building, the taste of the interiors, the space of the room and the bathroom, the bar, the social dining formula, all the other activities (running club, yoga, knitting)

That I had just one day so no time to fully enjoy it!

An original, beautiful and unique building in the heart of Christianshavn. Loved the large room, decor, the unique touches and welcoming items like slippers and a tote, really appreciated the fan in the room

I stayed here for two nights and it is a perfect location in Copenhagen. Christianshavn is beautiful.. Near enough to the city centre, but also just far enough away to be detached. I booked a 20 square meter room, as I was staying alone and on arrival, was told that my room had been upgraded. I was offered an apartment on the second floor, which was probably around 80 square meters, with a kitchen, separate bedroom, laundry room; it was utterly stunning. The apartment is very stylishly presented with mid 20th century Danish design furniture, as is the rest of the hotel. On the first morning I had breakfast at the hotel, which is typically Nordic, healthy and beautifully presented. All of the staff I met were friendly, helpful and professional, which really was the norm for my stay in Copenhagen. I can't fault this place, it is perfect..

What didn't you like? Leaving this place, I could of happily stayed there..

We absolutely loved Kanalhuset's location. We also loved how community-focused the hotel was and how much space we had in the apartments — it truly made us feel like we were part of the city. Our one note would be to potentially add a fan in the rooms for hotter summer days :)

Was not pleased that my check out bill had charges that someone else had charged to our room. Staff quickly resolved. The community dinner was fun! Note that the beer/wine, dessert and coffee are extra.

Very unusual style, quirky furniture and fantastic location. A great blend of Scandinavian home style and standard hotel services. Gorgeous location near many amenities, without street noise.

We loved everything about our stay at Kanalhuset. It's such a beautiful hotel in a great location and with the most lovely staff. We had booked one of the smaller rooms, but ended up staying in one of the apartments, which was amazing and so beautiful. We had the bestest of times and would happily stay there again.

Amazing large apartment funsished beautifully. Great team. The social dinners in huge dining room are excellent and worth doing.

It got a bit stuffy in the apartment, no AC. A fan would have been good. Also, if you stay there, they leave a note to go to the Bar in the morning for freshly ground coffee BUT it is not free - when we were leaving, they charged us quite a lot for the coffees and it left a sour note. When queried, they said we needed to ask for the the ground beans and plunger to take our room. This was not clear at all and we just ordered them from the bar and took them back to our room thinking they were free.

Nice location, close to train, nice amenities in apartment (bonus points for having a steamer for your clothes), good view, excellent food, fun social dining, and great staff.

We really loved our stay here. The location is perfect- close to everything but not in the hustle and bustle of the busy areas just a few streets over. We participated in a few of the events the hotel was putting on, like the morning dip and the communal dinner. Both were great. I also really like the branding- would love to see it on some merchandise. The hotel’s common area is in the bar/dining room, there aren’t TVs in the room, there wasn’t a coffee pot/fridge in the room- so just manage your expectations that this isn’t set up like a traditional hotel. This don’t bother us at all, but still thought I’d mention.

The room on the bottom floors are street level, so there’s some noise.

Kanalhuset is perfectly located in Christianshavn. The metro from/and to the airport is very close and you are also very close to the opera, the theatre, Nyhavn and Indre By. However, all the other quarters (Vesterbro, Nørrebro, Østerbro etc.) can easily be reached, especially by bike. In the area around Kanalhuset are some nice cafés and bars to enjoy a coffee or an aperitivo before dinner. The highlight are the apartments, which are spacious and beautifully designed with mid century scandinavian furniture and design objects. There was pretty much everything you need, including a washer and dryer and even a steamer for your cloths. The bed was very comfortable, one of the comfiest I have had in a hotel so far. I’d absolutely recommend splurging on an appartment. The appartments will not only be much more soacious but they are licated on floors 1-3, while the regular rooms are in the souterrain. We had lunch and breakfast once at Kanalhuset and it was delicious. They offer quite some social activities (we would have loved to join the bath and the cruise and singing, but they weren‘t offered when we were there) which are free to join if you stay at the hotel.

The only thing that could be improved are the blinds in the bedroom. They didn’t really block out a lot of light and being in the north in June, it gets dark very late and bright very early. They do provide sleeping masks but blackout curtains would be better. They also wrote that the bed can be set up as a twin but in reality there will be an additional foldable bed, which unfortunately is nowhere near as comfy as the big bed.

Nothing to dislike

It gives a personal touch to your stay. Staff is very nice and helpful, they have different activities that their staff encourages all guests to do - singing, swimming, running. The rooms are nice and the service is top notch. They organize communal dinners where guests get to interact with local folks and share food and stories.

Lovely property in a brilliant location! Apartment was fabulous and the staff were all so helpful and friendly.

We stayed at one of the apartments for 4 nights, and for some reason the bathroom has a strong sewer smell especially towards the end of the night; it was appreciated that the cleaning service took place in the morning when we're out and came back to a less smelly bathroom, but the odor surely came back every night 😂

Location perfect. On the canal and close to everything. Our apartment was beautiful. Simple yet stylish. Very relaxed hotel with everything you could need but not showy.

Apartment yet has restaurant and lovely bar

Everything was just amazing! Very comfortable, well localed, cozy, and with so much care about the details!! Would definetely recommend! The breakfast in the cafétéria is the best breakfast we ever had in Copenhaguen!
