Some of the bartenders were not that great. Most were excellent, but some rude.

Ahmed at reception greeted us and set the tone. He took his time answering our questions and giving tips on places to walk, What a great welcome. Room service was on the ball, fast, reasonably priced and elegant, Everything worked. Great channels on the TV. Fabulous shower. Unbelievable location. We are walkers and this is the best!

The hotel staff is extremely helpful. I booked at the last minute after arriving at a disappointing nearby hotel. Sean at reception was very accommodating at finding a room with early check-in. He then upgraded me to a corner king suite with a beautiful view. The room is comfortable and exceptionally clean with all expected amenities.

Everyone was so nice and helpful. And Tavern on Rush is amazing.

This hotel is located near Rush and State, a lively neighborhood with lots of restaurants and bars. It’s convenient to the Loop and to many fun venues.

We had a wet bar but no fridge. We wanted to refrigerate our leftovers but couldn't. Also, the bathroom door--well, you can see through. Who wants to see their significant other taking a crap?

The view was lovely. I like the fact the tub was right there by the shower. The water stayed hot and the staff was excellent.

I had a junior suite on the 10th floor. There was no microwave in the room.

The location at the top of the Magnificent Mile was perfect for sight seeing, dinning, and bar hopping.

Unavoidable maintenance I'm sure, but one elevator was down the entire time we were at the hotel, and that created long waiting times.

Excellent room and warm welcome by staff. Comfortable bed and nice towels. Location was excellent for an event that we were attending in the neighborhood.

one elevator was not working. only gave us 2 sets of towels for a reservation of 3 people. front desk staff not very friendly or welcoming. valet staff very nice. room was very small and had no refrigerator.

I was expecting it to be closer to Michigan Avenue, it was a 10 minutes walk everytime.

From the atmosphere of the building to the staff my stay was impeccable beginning to end. I have stayed in thousands of hotels over the years and this one makes my top two. I am looking forward to bringing my children to visit Chicago this year and we will be staying nowhere but at the Thompson.

The valet was a bit overwhelmed. Two valet attendants would be more efficient in my opinion.

Room didn’t meet my expectations, and the staff didn’t accommodate my only 2 requests before checking in.

Rooms were large, clean and comfortable. In walking distance to wherever you want to go.

Room was great and VERY comfortable bed and linens. Also the room was very quiet.

Location in downtown was perfect, near the lake and great restaurants right across the street. Cool decor.

The location is excellent for walking to Michigan Ave. and the lakefront. The Metra stop is a longer walk, but not bad. We had a double room, #614, with lake views and windows on two sides. It made for a great stay for me and my daughter.

Great location in the Gold Coast area. Very clean, very courteous staff for the most part.

Property did not inform us that the bar and restaurant were under renovation until the day after that I could cancel reservations for free! They did give a fifty dollar credit but over charge me for the stay and had to call to straighten it out! Clerk told me that recreation center was on the 4th floor but didn’t look like I needed to know that because of my physical condition??? WTF really!!! Pets are allowed. Beds were comfortable but short and my feet hung off the bed, $1,200.00 for Two nights ouch!

The location was ideal. Close to great restaurants and shopping. The room and lobby were welcoming and beautifully decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful.

I absolutely loved Alex at the front desk. He was attentive and kind enought to search dinner locations for us. The room was spacious and quiet. I felt very safe in and around the hotel. TAHE VIEW was amazing of the lake.

Although I was grateful, I did not like having to stay in a double room when I reserved a King room. There was no microwaves or refrigerator in the room, that was disappointing. The bath tub was difficult to drain. The parking rate of $75 a night was horrible, but it's downtown so it was expected. Even with those minor concerns we enjoyed the stay and the staff. I would stay there again.
