Hotel Lincoln, Chicago

Location is good. No other hotels in the near vicinity.

The staff gave me a handicapped room and did not tell me until I already checked in. I would not normally care but it did not have a regular shower and flooded the bathroom. I had to put towels down on the floor and wipe up water. 1 elevator not working

Dee (Dolores) at front desk was amazing. So professional, helpful and welcoming!

Property was well located

Rooms were noisy- could hear hotel guests in adjacent room including elevator in hallway.

We stayed at room 1106, the room design and the view.

cleanliness of the hallway was not great on that floor, noticed our bathroom had Qtips already opened in the bathroom and a dirt print about 12"x12" on the top blanket right corner of bed.

The heating/cooling mechanicals were so noisy, sleep was impossible without ear plugs, even with them the motor was a dull roar.

The location was close to the zoo. Parking was easy.

The room was small and next to an elevator which we could hear. The in room heater sounded like a truck starting every time it fired up. The bed was small and low to the ground. I hit my shin on the frame which was a very sharp corner. The roof top lounge was closed to a party.

Was not offered drink ticket as other were and the upstairs balcony was off limits due to a private event, so I was not able to go and even check it out.

Great location on the south end of Lincoln Park. Walkable to Old Town and many restaurants. Cool eclectic lobby with rooftop restaurant and bar.

The actual room was clean and comfortable overall. The bathroom is very small with very little space to set out toiletries.

When I asked to change rooms because the first room was completely inferior, they made they change and were very pleasant about it. I would not recommend room 810 to anyone.

The first room I was assigned was completely inferior. Full size bed with uncomfortable mattress, peeling furniture, 1 dingy window, no mini fridge and right next door to the elevator shaft. I realize it is an old hotel but the elevator sounds like its on a pully and I shared a wall with it. I was considering just leaving the hotel but I thought I would at least ask about changing rooms and the staff obliged.

Location, location, location! Great walkable neighborhood. Friendly and accommodating staff. The main area of the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The rooftop bar was nice. The attached restaurant, Americano, was fantastic!

Listing my room as a "Lake View" room was a bit of a stretch considering that I could barely see the lake by the angle of the room. My view was mostly of the school building across the street. A dirty washcloth was left on the shower head from the previous guest. The shampoo and conditioner hadn't been restocked before my check in. The coffee cup for the in-room Keurig coffee maker was too tall for the machine. A large dirty laundry cart was parked in front of the elevator doors and remained there the entire time during my 2 night stay.

The receptionist was a little harsh and rude. We arrived 15 min before check in, she told us that our room was not ready yet and she couldn’t check in us. Ok that can happen, but, I have travelled a lot, usually you just check in, and when the room is ready, we’re notified . She didn’t offer to help us with our luggage. We had to ask if they had a place to keep our luggage until check in, of course they had and, with a bad attitude took the bags. Then, she instructed us to get a seat and WAIT! We saw other people in the couch, also waiting. We left, returned at 3:05 and other nice lady, took care of us. This people are supposed to know manners and their work is to take good care of the clients. Even though the other lady treat us well, first impressions are important. Sadly, we’ll never go back.

I did not receive early check in and then I got my room over an hour later than the regular check in time and I needed to be somewhere. I requested late check out and did not get that either. The hotel did nothing to appreciate my concerns. Also, there could have been a fridge in the room

The location of the hotel is excellent. Lincoln Park Zoo is across the street. We took our kids there every morning before we went to see the city. My wife and I walked to a second city performance one night and that was a 5 minute walk. We also walked with the kids to see the Blue Man Group at the Briar Street Theatre. My wife and I were very happy with the location of the hotel because we could easily walk to our destinations.

I thought the price was somewhat more than I wanted to pay. For the price I paid, I would expect a better bathroom that is more up to date and everything works properly.

The hotel is in a nice location. The restaurants are great (if pricey), and the staff were friendly enough.

The room did not match the photos online. The tub in the bathroom had stains — either from a lack of cleaning or being an old tub. Housekeeping didn't replace sheets or towels, but placed them back in their original location to look like the room had been "cleaned." The decor is supposed to be retro, but the entire hotel just feels tacky.

Staff was very pleasant and helpful. The weight room was nice enough. The farmers market was right across the street Saturday morning.

I didn't like the hidden fees for bicycles, etc, that I didn't use. One of the shades in the bedroom wouldn't raise.

Location is fantastic! Love the restaurant at street level as well as rooftop restaurant and bar. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. Liked the shampoo, conditioner and body soap products provided.

No mini fridge! Had leftovers to bring to hotel from lunch and had to throw them out. The bathrooms in the lobby were not clean and pretty gross.

We loved the top floor restaurant. Beautiful view of Lincoln Park Zoo and lake Michigan. The food was great and staff lovely. Great location.

It would have been nice to have a small refrigerator in the room.

The unit is a bit rundown. The AC unit really old and loud. The bathroom doesn't have a fan and the toilet barely flushes. I got a studio and it seemed a bit smaller than I imagined. Said ~500 sq ft but seemed smaller.

The location was fabulous! The suite was spacious. Having two bathrooms was nice.

The gym machines didn’t work. The tv/cable was off most of the time. I didn’t get the room I paid for ($100 difference)and their compensation was to waive the amenity fee ($30) - which they didn’t. Ended up charging for it anyway and when I have called and emailed, I get no response. Sheets/pillows for the pullout were hard to find and had to go to the desk twice for service.

We were only offered a disabled room, the bathroom door was a sliding door and left little to the imagination. Not used to having a request to pay up to 25% more on an already high bill for a cup of coffee from the little cafe in the hotel.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The coffee cafe is a plus. The location for me is a plus since my family moved in the area

Our room seemed to be renovated from the horror we had previously with mold and grime in bathroom , dirty carpeting etc. However, there was absolutely no shelving in the bathroom to put cosmetic case, no garbage pail, no door on the vanity( pipes showing ) no hook to hang clothes no place in shower to put soap etc. not a functional bathroom. No handle on closet in hallway ?

Staff, location, comfort and decor all get a 10! I unwittingly booked a teeny tiny room with a teeny tiny bed (and an AMAZING VIEW), but the front desk staff happily upgraded us to a junior suite with a king sized bed for a nominal charge. The location of the Hotel Lincoln just can’t be beat! It’s directly across from Lincoln Park, within blocks of multiple bars and restaurants and a short taxi/Uber ride to many neighborhoods and downtown. I’m pretty picky about bedding, but the beds and linens were perfect for us: firm mattress and super soft linens. Also, the hot water was almost instantaneous, water pressure in the shower was great and seemingly unaffected by varying levels of use by other guests. This is an older hotel, but tastefully decorated with whimsical pictures, murals, and furniture.

Construction! The hotel is undergoing renovation and while it’s understandable, it wasn’t disclosed when we made our reservation. Not only did we get to listen to all the normal noises of construction each day, we also got to listen to the workers shouting, singing, cussing, and even fighting. All in all, it was a minor inconvenience as we were outside seeing and visiting family most of the time, the nondisclosure was the real chafing point.

I found the staff's service to be exceptional; they were friendly and helpfulful.

The room was small and rather outdated, and the bathroom tile was in poor condition, not to mention that the bathroom itself was very small. The bed was too hard to sleep on as well. This hotel needs to be updated to more modern-day standards, particularly with the price charge per night for a room. However, if you want a good location near many of Chicago's best places, this may be a good choice.

Free water and coffee. Cleaning lady was very helpful when we asked for something.

Some details like they gave you cups for the coffee machine that did not fit, which made it impossible to make the coffee... Forgot the trashbag in the room after emptying it. Forgot putting new bag in. Also the high speed internet was, well the slowest internet I have ever used 😄

The coffee in the coffee shop is amazing! The room setup was also unique, definitely a fun experience. The proximity to Park West, the water, and Lincoln Park were the main reason for our choice. The valet service was perfect and timely.

The volume in the rooftop lounge was ridiculous. It was incredibly difficult to hear and we had to yell at each other (both in our 30's and healthy lol) We even sat outside for a bit and it was still very loud.

I loved the modern vibe and the staff was absolutely amazing!

A few outlets didn’t work by the bed. And we woke up to super loud construction a few rooms over that was pretty loud.

Heating made extreme sounds. Asking for more blankets as an alternative resulting in three thin ones that weren’t warm enough. They didn’t want to send up more, because we already had some. Incredible. The coffee bar downstairs was open two mornings of the five we stayed there. They had a free coffee corner with so-so coffee but free croissants etc.
