The location is perfect. You can't beat it!

The unit is a bit rundown. The AC unit really old and loud. The bathroom doesn't have a fan and the toilet barely flushes. I got a studio and it seemed a bit smaller than I imagined. Said ~500 sq ft but seemed smaller.

The location was fabulous! The suite was spacious. Having two bathrooms was nice.

The gym machines didn’t work. The tv/cable was off most of the time. I didn’t get the room I paid for ($100 difference)and their compensation was to waive the amenity fee ($30) - which they didn’t. Ended up charging for it anyway and when I have called and emailed, I get no response. Sheets/pillows for the pullout were hard to find and had to go to the desk twice for service.

The location was absolutely perfect! Easily walkable to so many places we wanted to see.

Bathroom was quite small and bathroom door squeaked/didn't close fully so not a lot of privacy

We were only offered a disabled room, the bathroom door was a sliding door and left little to the imagination. Not used to having a request to pay up to 25% more on an already high bill for a cup of coffee from the little cafe in the hotel.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The coffee cafe is a plus. The location for me is a plus since my family moved in the area

Our room seemed to be renovated from the horror we had previously with mold and grime in bathroom , dirty carpeting etc. However, there was absolutely no shelving in the bathroom to put cosmetic case, no garbage pail, no door on the vanity( pipes showing ) no hook to hang clothes no place in shower to put soap etc. not a functional bathroom. No handle on closet in hallway ?

Staff, location, comfort and decor all get a 10! I unwittingly booked a teeny tiny room with a teeny tiny bed (and an AMAZING VIEW), but the front desk staff happily upgraded us to a junior suite with a king sized bed for a nominal charge. The location of the Hotel Lincoln just can’t be beat! It’s directly across from Lincoln Park, within blocks of multiple bars and restaurants and a short taxi/Uber ride to many neighborhoods and downtown. I’m pretty picky about bedding, but the beds and linens were perfect for us: firm mattress and super soft linens. Also, the hot water was almost instantaneous, water pressure in the shower was great and seemingly unaffected by varying levels of use by other guests. This is an older hotel, but tastefully decorated with whimsical pictures, murals, and furniture.

Construction! The hotel is undergoing renovation and while it’s understandable, it wasn’t disclosed when we made our reservation. Not only did we get to listen to all the normal noises of construction each day, we also got to listen to the workers shouting, singing, cussing, and even fighting. All in all, it was a minor inconvenience as we were outside seeing and visiting family most of the time, the nondisclosure was the real chafing point.

I found the staff's service to be exceptional; they were friendly and helpfulful.

The room was small and rather outdated, and the bathroom tile was in poor condition, not to mention that the bathroom itself was very small. The bed was too hard to sleep on as well. This hotel needs to be updated to more modern-day standards, particularly with the price charge per night for a room. However, if you want a good location near many of Chicago's best places, this may be a good choice.

Free water and coffee. Cleaning lady was very helpful when we asked for something.

Some details like they gave you cups for the coffee machine that did not fit, which made it impossible to make the coffee... Forgot the trashbag in the room after emptying it. Forgot putting new bag in. Also the high speed internet was, well the slowest internet I have ever used 😄

The coffee in the coffee shop is amazing! The room setup was also unique, definitely a fun experience. The proximity to Park West, the water, and Lincoln Park were the main reason for our choice. The valet service was perfect and timely.

The volume in the rooftop lounge was ridiculous. It was incredibly difficult to hear and we had to yell at each other (both in our 30's and healthy lol) We even sat outside for a bit and it was still very loud.

I loved the modern vibe and the staff was absolutely amazing!

A few outlets didn’t work by the bed. And we woke up to super loud construction a few rooms over that was pretty loud.

Location was fantastic! Beds were very comfortable.

Heating made extreme sounds. Asking for more blankets as an alternative resulting in three thin ones that weren’t warm enough. They didn’t want to send up more, because we already had some. Incredible. The coffee bar downstairs was open two mornings of the five we stayed there. They had a free coffee corner with so-so coffee but free croissants etc.

Location was excellent, near Old Town and Lincoln Park, and downtown is walkable. Nice lake views from my room also. The staff were fantastic and extremely helpful. The bar on the roof is worth a look too.

The hotel itself is quite old, and acoustic insulation wasn't great between rooms. My room was also directly outside the elevators on my floor which was the source of quite a lot of noise. To be fair though, if I had raised that with staff, I'm sure they would have changed me to another room, but I was only there for a couple of days so didn't bother.

Where it was situated

Very tired hotel. Other than the manager who was efficient. The housekeeping was below standard. Our room was partially cleaned. The bathroom was cleaned.but soap not put in there. The bed wasn’t made other than twice in the week that we stayed. The security door at the front of the room had inadequate fixtures with screws coming away from the door frame.

Probably not hotel’s fault but the service and prices at the rooftop Parker restaurant are off. We have stayed this hotel minimally 45 days in last 4 years and have seen decline in this restaurant. Take our advice and go across the street for breakfast at Nookies.

The staff was extremely nice and I liked the breakfast offerings at Elaine's.

I had problems with the heating/cooling. The staff transferred me to another room but the temperature remained too hot for me although i had set it up for 70 degrees.

Cover on heating/ac unit wouldn't stay on, missing a curtain on closet, missing a bedside lamp in room (612).

Great location and excellent , kind, and accommodating staff, especially given how cold it was. The associated coffee shop and restaurant are good. I was not expecting the amenities fee, but I did enjoy having the bottled water, the drink, etc.

The room where I stayed was clean but a bit stuffy, and it was difficult to adjust the temperature, so it was stiflingly warm, and the shower was not great. It was fine, but the quality was not up to the level of the cost, in my point of view.

Our room had 2 beds but they were semi private as the coffee bar was in a narrowed hallway between the 2 beds. Unexpected good surprise!

The bed was hard. Pictures made the room seem larger - should have paid more attention to the square footage.

no coffee machine refills and cups updated daily and called to ask for some and never delivered. Your fitness room too small and no cups for water and no paper towels or spray to clean equipment (have not seen a hotel in 2 years that does not do that).

Can’t beat this location! Rooftop bar and restaurant super cool.

Unimpressed with set-up and service. I get that it’s an old hotel, but as a guest, I shouldn’t have to unplug the TV to make coffee or vice versa bc there aren’t enough outlets for all the appliances. Ice bucket but no water cups. No housekeeping services our entire stay so had to ask for coffee/cups and TP. TP and walls were about the same width, so heard our neighbors all the time.

I liked the feel of the hotel and the look of the building

I was informed that next year they expect a remodel and I would love to come back and see the updated version.

Safe location, clean, modern, quirky decor. Fun spot. Rooftop bar and coffee shop on site.

No refrigerator in room. Rooms very small. Parking $68 for less than 24 hours.

Not value to money, very old and low quality comparing to the price. No housekeeping everyday and made by requested only.

Great location. Across from Lincoln Park and the lake. Quiet and central for Lincoln Park location. Really decent cafes nearby, and great for daily outdoor exercise / walks.

The lobby was not clean. Way too many dogs and dirty furniture. Felt 'grubby'. There were treats on the ground for dogs...where were the treats for the paying guests? So odd. Elaine's cafe needs to clean up a bit. Food needs to be served from a very clean place in my opinion - and it does not feel clean. Parker Rooftop restaurant is fantastic. Food was super and the drinks / cocktails also. View is top notch. Great vibe.

The location in Lincoln park was desirable.

The room was teeny tiny and janky. In lieu of a headboard there was a shower curtain. I think they blew their wad making the lobby look cool but all other spaces are rough, old and not in great shape. It felt like I was in a hostel.

Communal areas scruffy particularly the lifts, no tea available in the evening, room a bit dark needs a lift. Wall colour not good.

It was my first time staying there and I really like the location. It's convenient to my friends in Old Town and right on the Lake where I enjoy recreating.

For some reason the water was switched off in the middle of the night - couldn't get water out of the tap or flush the toilet. There was no notification before or after.

Liked the size of the junior suite. It was very quiet.

Furniture in the suite was a bit worn.

Location was perfect for our plans (Mozart Immersive, Lincoln Park Zoo, shopping on Southport, Theater on the Lake)

Air conditioner was noisy and street construction outside our window was noisy and started around 4am. Need to provide ear plugs.

We love being close to Lincoln Park and several bus lines that can get you downtown. Seth with housekeeping was exceptionally friendly.

Rooms are a bit odd in configuration and musty.

Bathroom had no privacy and no fan, our room wasn’t ready on time so we ended up in a different room (paid for a lake view but didn’t get one), no breakfast on site.
