Kempinski Nile Hotel, Cairo

Excellent location, views over the Nile. Liked the rooftop pool. Good breakfast and dinner.

Pricy for Cairo but worth it

The staff at the Kempinski Nile Hotel were exceptional, making our stay very comfortable - nothing was too much trouble. Our room had a Nile view and it was very pleasant to watch the boats in the evening. Food was excellent, although we felt breakfast was a little overpriced compared to the restaurants for dinner. The spa facilities comprise jacuzzi, steam and sauna. It was nice to be able to relax after a dusty and strenuous day exploring Cairo.

We liked the friendly staff, the size of the suite (it was very big and easily accommodated our family of 5), the cleanliness, the pool, the breakfast and the Turkish Restaurant.

Not walking distance to anything interesting, and the taxi's provided by the hotel were not good (friendly drivers, but the cars were very old and broken. None of the taxi's provided had seatbelts for our children, and some of them had no windows. In crazy Cairo traffic that felt unsafe).

The poolbar was nice. But only 7 sunbeds, so if busy you get none. Restaurants good but expensive. Room was clean but a bit worn.

Traveling in Egypt this was without comparison the most expensive. Of course due to being in mid Cairo, but the hotel was a bit worn out and the prices for room and restaurants is x2.

The helpful staff members

The location and Nile view were superb, walking distance to the Egyptian museum, breakfast was sufficient, good selection, no issues with personnel.

The hotel is worn out; facilities are rather basic, not Kempinsky style; on the other hand, prices are very affordable as well compared to peer hotels around. We stayed one night, it was fine

Very good hotel, well located in garden city, central cairo. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, staff was very attentive. We dined twice at the italian restaurant where food was excellent. Their in room continental breakfast is also very good.

The rooms ( we stayed in a suite and a room) need a thorough cleaning. The fabric tapestry was stained, dark from dust. Even though the decor is dates, it could be spotless with some effort.

It was a great location close to downtown right in the Nile. The spa is very good, I had a couple of great treatments and was looked after well.

It's nice but old .. food is not that good ... The entrance is small ... over all, they did a good job maintaining the hotel, but you can see that it is outdated.

Location, personnel, restaurants inside hotel, rooms, breakfast

Hygiene: tiles in shower had something stick on them, hairdryer was very dusty, napkin containers were very dirty, linens had stains on them. During breakfast we noticed that the tables were not cleaned properly after a guest left the table, plate mats were shaken and put again on the table disgusting.

The room was excellen and we got what we asked for. The staff were very attentive, particularly the room staff.

the service in the dining room in the evening was very slow and the food was average. We booked a taxi to the airpot with the concierge the night before we left and it did not turn up the next morning, which was quite stressful. The hotel seemed to have no record of the booking. The men on the door did get us a car, and they were helpful, but it was quite stressful as we were on an international flight.
