Amazing central location, beautiful interior and great staff!

Perfect location and looks stunning

I had an amazing stay at Oktogon Haggenmacher. The receptionist was very friendly, and when I needed to print something for my travel journey, they were kind enough to help me. The location is also excellent, as the metro is only a 5-minute walk away. The area felt very safe, and I didn’t feel uncomfortable at any time during my stay. If you’re coming to Budapest, this hotel is a great option.

My stay at Hotel Oktogon Haggenmacher by Continental Group was very pleasant. The reception staff were friendly, helpful, and provided everything I needed. The room was very clean and well-organized, and the hotel lobby was absolutely beautiful. I also appreciated the luggage lockers available after checkout. My only comment is that the sound insulation between the room door and the hallway could be improved. Overall, it was a great experience.

It smelt amazing the minute we walked in! The staff were very accommodating and they left us a a little bottle of wine for my husbands birthday which was so so nice!

Interior of hotel was beautiful.

Hotel was clean but the carpet in our bedroom did not look clean. Two single duvets on the first night meant it was uncomfortable as a couple. We did get the chance to ask for double but this may be a standard for couples. I can appreciate that singles could be better for friends who are sharing. Towels are not changed every day. We are charged for water it should be complimentary.

Very beautiful hotel in a great safe location, walkable to all attractions. Dozens of restaurants around the corner. Simple but delicious breakfast with greens, eggs, pastries, fruits. You can also have coffee/water at the lobby during the day. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay! :)

We found the room a bit small, but its a minor thing

The overall feel of the hotel is excellent, it's worth reading the history behind the renovation to see how this was incorporated into the design and the feel. Everything was clean, well kept and the hotel actually had a 'scandi' feel to it. Facilities were excellent, particularly the secure locker room which makes early arrivals a breeze.

The receptionist staff could not have been more friendly. We were looking for cocktail bar recommendations and these were forthcoming and all were excellent. The bartender at the small upstairs bar was also excellent and made a mea espresso martini.

The hotel is centrally located, making it easy to reach many of Budapest’s major sights, yet it remains quiet and peaceful. The room feels both cozy and spacious, offering a comfortable place to unwind after a day of exploring. A 24/7 gym is available, which is a great bonus, and the breakfast is genuinely excellent. On top of it all, the staff is super helpful and welcoming, adding to an overall great stay.

A true place to feel good from the very first moment. Beautiful rooms, a lovely atmosphere and a cozy bar that invites you to stay. A special thank you to Patricia in the bar, who takes such wonderful care of the guests. Her warmth, communicative nature and genuine love for what she does are truly special and far from self-evident. You immediately feel welcomed, cared for and at ease. I can wholeheartedly recommend this bar and the entire place – with Patricia as its heart and soul.

Our first hotel on our 5 week trip and it really set the bar. Stayed three nights. It’s so close to the metro and all the sites. Walk up the road for twenty minutes and it drops you right where the huge outdoor ice rink is, Christmas markets, a castle, theatres and museums and a walk across the road to the metro and a bus stop all on every corner. The staff were great. The room was so comfy and the service was excellent. The interior of the hotel foyer is incredible and the sauna facility really hit the spot.

Absolutely unforgettable stay! This was my very first solo trip, and I couldn’t have chosen a better hotel. From the moment I arrived, I felt incredibly safe and comfortable at Hotel Oktogon both inside the hotel and in the surrounding area. The location is perfect: walking distance to everything you want to see, and the metro is literally just a few meters away. The hotel itself is stunning it truly feels like staying in a beautiful museum. The rooms and gym are super clean, modern, and well maintained. Everything felt fresh and thoughtfully designed. What really made the experience exceptional, though, was the service. The staff were amazing from the reception to housekeeping always kind, helpful, and professional. I couldn’t have been more satisfied with my stay, and Hotel Oktogon played a huge role in making my first solo trip to Budapest such a positive and empowering experience. I would 100% stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone, especially solo travelers. Will be back!

Beautiful place, very clean, well equipped (we really enjoyed the sauna), friendly personnel and good breakfast. Our room was to the inside and very quiet. The location was perfect for us as it is not in the middle of Budapest‘s tourist parts, but you can still reach everything by foot.

The staff were brilliant, the beds were comfy, the location was next level - loved it!

The hotel bar was very small but there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby!

We are a couple, the bed was split and the blankets were suitable for a single person and not a double blanket, so it was less comfortable and suitable, we didn't sleep as well as we wanted

The bed was so comfortable and the bedroom was a good size. The interior of the hotel was beautiful and a lovely space to have breakfast in. I was impressed at the special table for gluten free bread and cake options for breakfast. The hotel location was perfect for getting the metro and the tram. The reception staff couldn't have been more helpful. They were so friendly.

The only thing I can possibly think of is that there were no coffee sachets or pods in the room - just tea and a nespresso machine presumably to boil the water. It didn't bother us not having a coffee in the room as we just went to breakfast to have it. But maybe others would want a early coffee in the room

Beautiful place, centrally located, close to metro station.

Poor breakfast service, no plates, no cutlery, no glasses, no cups, you had to wait and wait until clean stuff were put on the buffet.

I loved the onsite sauna and lounging area! And the room was spacy and comfortable.

It would have been good if the sauna didn't shut off between 12 and 4pm. Perfect time for saunaing in winter!
