Hotel Gerlóczy Rooms de Lux, Budapest

The location is great, and we enjoyed the breakfast so much.

The room was really nice and comfortable, but it wasn't dusted during our stay, and on the last day, they didn't restock the coffee.

The quirky rooms, full of character. The location was great, benefitted from being central yet lovely and quiet. The restaurant was incredible, the food was delicious.... yummy cocktails too.

One of the couples in our group only had a bath.

Fantastic location, close to all amenities and lovely room. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It's great to have a restaurant in the same building - the food was very good!

We absolutely loved our time at Gerloczy. We have been travelling a lot and found this hotel to be exceptional. It's an extremely well run hotel and every detail was taken care of. The room was spacious and well appointed. I cannot recommend it enough. Most importantly though, is the restaurant. The breakfast is exceptional. After trying many other restaurants for lunch and dinner we kept coming back to the hotel for all our meals. Really fantastic!

Beautiful rooms, well decorated - great location. Staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. Beautiful building. The weather was very cold when we visited, the hotel was very well heated.

The hotel was excellent! The hotel has an old-world charm, reminiscent of The Grand Budapest Hotel by Wes Anderson, which adds to its unique and enchanting atmosphere. The location is fantastic – right in the heart of the Jewish Quarter, one of Budapest’s most vibrant and lively areas, surrounded by great cafés and restaurants. The hotel staff is very courteous, and the hotel itself features a wonderful brasserie that also serves as a café. Directly across from the hotel, there is a trendy and modern brasserie, adding to the lively dining scene. While the bathtub has seen better days, everything was impeccably clean and well-maintained, which is part of the hotel’s charm. Spacious room. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel – I had a lovely stay in wintery Budapest

What I liked most about this stay was getting up for breakfast in this wonderful restaurant. The breakfast is a la carte and is exquisite, plus the employees are very friendly. We liked the restaurant so much that we decided to have dinner there and it was an excellent choice, besides being beautiful the place is great value for money.

The only thing I didn't like was that the receptionist tried to change our room IN THE ATTICK for a twin room somewhere. I don't know if it's because we were two men, but even if that wasn't the reason, I'd rather they gave me an explanation and not tell me, there's a couple (what if we are also a couple?) that also wants that room: ehhhh, what do I care?, I reserve this one!, I want this one!... And if that was not the real reason, then I prefer a more honest reason...

Very nice original late 19th century property that captures the era and beauty. Staff are really friendly, the restaurant is lovely and the location is only a 15 minute walk to the river.

The hotel is beautiful....the staff is so beyond helpful with plans and reservations. Plus there is an excellent restaurant attached. Location perfect. Love quaint boutique hotels. Could not have been better!

An elegant hotel in the middle of the city. Close to attractions and transport stops including the 100E bus from the airport. All the staff were friendly and efficient and made sure we had a great experience for our first time in Budapest.

2 single duvets on a king size bed but think this is the norm.

Shabby chic quirky style with beautiful shutters opening up onto the square. We found it to be tranquil yet close to shops and restaurants. Staff were all wonderful. We would definitely book again.

Large room, beautiful. Close to everything and yet quite.

Fantastic hotel with great character in a perfect location for walking to all the main sights. The staff were friendly and helpful and the served breakfast was very tasty and a great opportunity to try some Hungarian specialities. The evening menu looked good too although we ate out.

Excellent location, lovely decor, friendly and helpful staff. Our room was very warm and cozy on a very cold weekend in December. Great variety offered for breakfast, and excellent food in the restaurant in general.

The bathroom in our room did not have a shower curtain, just a bathtub. This might work for some people, but we did not find it very comfortable.

Gerlóczy Boutique Hotel far exceeded all our expectations. It's located super centrally - the Christmas markets were less than 10 minutes away by foot, it was central to many other restaurants, a 25 minute walk away from the river, and the airport bus for drop-off/ pick-up was just 2 minutes away, The room was cosy, warm, and beautifully decorated. The staff at reception were excellent and very helpful. We had dinner at the attached restaurant and the food was great!

We were so happy everything was so good staff so helpful and extremely friendly.Restaurant was great,Hot chocolate was the best we have had for a long time.the room was amazing,location is great so central to walk to all the markets and lights. If we ever return to Budapest we will definitely stay in this hotel again both of us just loved it.

Room 4 on the 4th floor was so charming. It is an attic room with big exposed beams. The bathroom tile floor was warm!! The only problem was closing the shower door, but after I figured it out…GREAT.

The mirror in the bathroom is 3 feet away, but there is a hand mirror to use.

The hotel was very centrally located in Pest and in easy walking distance to all its main attractions. The bus from the airport stopped 5 minutes walk away so really easy transfers etc. The room was warm, clean and very comfortable and had everything that was needed to make our stay easy. The staff were really friendly and helpful and it was an extra bonus having the cafe’ / bistro downstairs where we had breakfast and dinner on several occasions during our stay and where the food was delicious. It was quiet at night so we slept really well! The hotel also has an amazing spiral staircase- instagram perfect!!

Brilliant location and within a 10 minute walk of all the various Christmas markets, the river cruise, and then a 5min walk from the 100E bus stop & the metro. Hotel itself was good with massive floor to height ceilings, underfloor heating in the bathroom & an amazing central staircase which runs through the building. All the breakfast is cooked fresh & very tasty

Quite unusual, but for a double bed they give you two single duvets. So no all night snuggles with your partner then!
