Hotel Gerlóczy Rooms de Lux, Budapest

Breakfast was definitely perfect. They have a long window to have it: from 7.30 to 12am. Really liked this one cause neither am i nor my partner are early birds. I suggest everyone to include it to their stays if they want to enjoy a nice quality breakfast in a very nice corner of Budapest. Rooms are nostalgic with high ceelings, bed is comfortable. Has nespresso machine in the room which is the perfect way to start your day.

Bath tub needs renewal or at least adjustments. Makes noises and looks dirty because of old adjustements eventhough it was perfectly clean.

Staff was engaging.

A charming small/boutique hotel in a great Budapest location. Easy walking distance to major sites including the Danube River, St Stephen's and Parliament House. Plenty of restaurants nearby - but would highly recommend the in-house restaurant to enjoy a quality food with attentive service. An a la carte breakfast is also served in the restaurant, with individual requests also catered. Our room was reasonably large and comfortable with a balcony and an open view overlooking a quiet street and pedestrian-only areas. The bathroom was well equipped with plenty of hot water for the shower. The reception and restaurant staff were very welcoming and friendly. Overall, a very pleasant stay for several days. Highly recommended over larger, impersonal hotels.

We stayed at the most charming little boutique hotel in Budapest and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was cozy and stylish, with thoughtful touches that made it feel really special. One of the absolute highlights was the breakfast—it was hands down the best I’ve ever had at a hotel. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and so delicious we looked forward to it every morning. The location couldn’t have been more perfect—central enough to walk or hop on a tram to everything we wanted to see, but tucked away just enough to feel peaceful and quiet. The only minor downside was that the room had a bath but no shower, which wasn’t a huge issue for us but worth mentioning if you prefer a quick rinse over a soak. All in all, a gorgeous little place I’d return to in a heartbeat!

The location of the Gerlcozy is central to the town of Pest. The River Danube is a 5 minute walk, the Central Square is 15 minutes and the Jewish Quarter 15 minutes. All easy walking distance. The food in the Restaurant was excellent as were the Staff

The location was great. The hotel was absolutely charming (very Belle Epoque) and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The hotel's beautiful bistro is where we had fabulous daily breakfasts - ordered off the menu vs touristy buffet style. Kudos to the chef as the food was delicious and presented beautifully! Be sure and book room with breakfast!

What I loved the most was the historic charm this hotel had. The restaurant is also really nice, a truly traditional feel and welcoming staff. The hotel itself is a beautiful building, with renovated features (like a modern lift) but still a 19th century feel. For us the location was also really convenient. It is a fairly quiet corner but walking distance to some of the popular areas in the centre of Pest. Lastly, the staff was very friendly and there was 24/7 reception service which was handy as we arrived late at night and had to check out very early in the morning.

This is not the hotel's fault as I am not sure if much can be done about it since it's an old building, but while the window sound insulation was pretty good, we were awaken by other rooms coming back late at night, as the doors and walls seem to let the sound in. We could have been unlucky with a particularly loud group of people next to us, if it wasn't the case I think this wouldn't have been a big problem.

The quirky rooms, full of character. The location was great, benefitted from being central yet lovely and quiet. The restaurant was incredible, the food was delicious.... yummy cocktails too.

We absolutely loved our time at Gerloczy. We have been travelling a lot and found this hotel to be exceptional. It's an extremely well run hotel and every detail was taken care of. The room was spacious and well appointed. I cannot recommend it enough. Most importantly though, is the restaurant. The breakfast is exceptional. After trying many other restaurants for lunch and dinner we kept coming back to the hotel for all our meals. Really fantastic!

The hotel was excellent! The hotel has an old-world charm, reminiscent of The Grand Budapest Hotel by Wes Anderson, which adds to its unique and enchanting atmosphere. The location is fantastic – right in the heart of the Jewish Quarter, one of Budapest’s most vibrant and lively areas, surrounded by great cafés and restaurants. The hotel staff is very courteous, and the hotel itself features a wonderful brasserie that also serves as a café. Directly across from the hotel, there is a trendy and modern brasserie, adding to the lively dining scene. While the bathtub has seen better days, everything was impeccably clean and well-maintained, which is part of the hotel’s charm. Spacious room. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel – I had a lovely stay in wintery Budapest

What I liked most about this stay was getting up for breakfast in this wonderful restaurant. The breakfast is a la carte and is exquisite, plus the employees are very friendly. We liked the restaurant so much that we decided to have dinner there and it was an excellent choice, besides being beautiful the place is great value for money.

The only thing I didn't like was that the receptionist tried to change our room IN THE ATTICK for a twin room somewhere. I don't know if it's because we were two men, but even if that wasn't the reason, I'd rather they gave me an explanation and not tell me, there's a couple (what if we are also a couple?) that also wants that room: ehhhh, what do I care?, I reserve this one!, I want this one!... And if that was not the real reason, then I prefer a more honest reason...

Very nice original late 19th century property that captures the era and beauty. Staff are really friendly, the restaurant is lovely and the location is only a 15 minute walk to the river.

The hotel is beautiful....the staff is so beyond helpful with plans and reservations. Plus there is an excellent restaurant attached. Location perfect. Love quaint boutique hotels. Could not have been better!

An elegant hotel in the middle of the city. Close to attractions and transport stops including the 100E bus from the airport. All the staff were friendly and efficient and made sure we had a great experience for our first time in Budapest.

2 single duvets on a king size bed but think this is the norm.

Shabby chic quirky style with beautiful shutters opening up onto the square. We found it to be tranquil yet close to shops and restaurants. Staff were all wonderful. We would definitely book again.
