The location was great - the cafe & food were excellent, rooms were very clean & comfortable -lovely old world look- staff friendly & helpful.

The shower was weird with no door and just a ridge holding the water back.

We liked the proximity to transit options and the many great restaurants within short walking distance. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Antique appointments are quaint and lovely. Comfortable beds & linens.

Our room on the 1st floor was rather small despite high ceilings. We needed to open windows to make it cool enough to sleep but street noise was then a problem. Its an old building with less than efficient heating/AC. The shower drain was very slow.

Second time we stay in here. We love the location and the breakfast in the morning at sun there. Room this time was much better and the hotel has a great charm!

Staff could be better trained in customer service for a boutique hotel that nice. Nothing to do with the hotel, but in this period they are building something next to hotel and could be noisy in the morning

Very central to the city centre! Big rooms with high widows and doors. Spacious bathroom and shower. Nice decor. Clean. Elevator and classy spiral staircase. Excellent staff!

The overall ambiance of the hotel was very hospitable. Everything from booking, check in and departure worked well. The rooms was spacious, well designed and decorated. The staff whom we met were friendly and helpful. Due to the building work which was going on next door, we were offered a complimentary dessert and prosecco.

On leaving we were charged for two items (unidentified) from the mini bar, which we had not even opened! On querying this with the member of staff on Reception, he immediately replied that this was OK and we did not pay. Just made us wonder......

Extremely friendly staff, super breakfasts, good sized bedrooms and great location - we walked everywhere.

We stayed there twice in 8 days. The first room was lovely but the second room was a bit dated with an old bath and a hand shower.

Great value for money, with well-designed interiors. I loved the bathtub. The hotel is not brand new, but finished with materials that age well. The restaurant is amazing, and most of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

A manager dismissed me and didn’t even bother to check the system when I asked for late checkout. Although his colleagues checked before that and confirmed it was possible and only his permission was needed

Lots to like about this hotel. Excellent central location and an oasis of calm in busy central Pest. Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff, imaginative breakfasts, good lunches (great value) and a quiet terrace at the front of the hotel to enjoy them in sunny weather. Our room was quiet and spacious. A short walk to Vaci Ut, the Cathedral, river, and transport links.

Food is delicious, but a bit overpriced. I recommend buying a breakfast deal beforehand, if paid on spot it's more expensive.

Very nice littel butique hotel in a historic building on a very nice littel quiet square in the center of Budapest. Feels a bit like in Paris. I love the building and also the nice terrace in front of it, where you can have your lunch and breakfast.

if I really have to say something, the little table in the room was quite worn and shaky. otherwise the room is nice and the bed is comfortable. I like the details of this old building...

The location was excellent. Close to the Vaci Utca and main attractions. Loved the decor and style overall.

Second stay at the Gérlóczy, a really lovely hotel with lots of original late 19th century charm. Large rooms with air conditioning, mini bar, coffee/tea Friendly staff and absolutely superb location in a quiet street in the heart of Pest. The hotel is a very short walk from the stop for the 100E bus to and from Budapest airport (by far the best means of transport) and a short stroll to the Danube and other sights including St Stephen's Basilica. Lovely restaurant with inside and terrace dining and a varied menu of food and drinks. If the weather forecast is good, ask if room 3 on the second floor is available. It's huge, has a wonderful balcony overlooking the terrace and is worth paying a little extra for.

Couple of quibbles: The shampoo/soap dispenser ran out mid shower on the second day. Would have been nice to have the sheets changed just once during the four night stay.

Great location. Very close to Jewish quarter of the city and public transportation. Very clean. Breakfast was delicious every morning.

The hotel is an excellent location close to restaurants and attractions. The staff were very friendly and the food is excellent in the restaurant including breakfast.

There is some building work close by but it didnt affect us this time. The hotel has a lot of character which is attractive but could do with some refurbishment.

Everything, the structure is in keeping with the architecture and historic atmosphere of Budapest, not the usual modern but characterless 4-star hotel. Furthermore, the proximity to the bistro restaurant allows you to sit down during the day for breakfast, lunch, or dinner... or simply enjoy a dessert and a lemonade, famous in Budapest, comfortably seated on the Parisian-style terrace.

The lack of blackout on the bathroom's internal window. Our beautiful room was separated from the bathroom by a beautiful Art Nouveau-style frosted glass wall, but in the morning the room is flooded with light.

We had balcony room on 2nd floor with view over small quiet square. The balcony had table and chairs so we could enjoy sitting outside in the evening. Breakfast was a la carte with good selection of both hot and cold (Hungarian/French flavours) served inside or outside restaurant (waiter service). This was included in price if you opted for room and breakfast. Breakfast served until 1200. Hotel was small with just 19 rooms over 4 floors (4 in attic). Great decor in keeping with the date of the building (possibly 1880s). Staff friendly and helpful.

Everyone was friendly and professional, they made us feel from the get go that we are in good hands and they didn't under deliver. Food was amazing and the location is superb if you wanted to be in a close proximity to the inner city. Highly recommended...

The location of this hotel was great, within walking distance to many great spots, close to the river and not far from the airport or train station. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, available around the clock for your needs. Check in was easy and they arranged airport travel. Their restaurant is great as well! I enjoyed it

The property is next to a construction site right now 7/25, and it’s noisy at times. The hotel offers a few concessions but I would ask to be away from the side where the construction is happening. It’s not their fault, and temporary. It is a beautiful hotel.

The location and ambience

We absolutely loved our stay at Gerloczy. From the moment we arrived and were treated with a very early check in to the very pleasant and friendly receptionist. The room was beautiful, exceptionally clean, beautiful decor, with two huge windows. One of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in. The location is perfect - the whole 4 days we didn't need to use any public transport, as it is central and we could walk everywhere. We will definitely stay again.

The air con is very weak and the room tends to get really hot

Loveeed the location, the peace and quiet of the street but situated right in the center of the city. The hotel is cozy, small, very French vibes, the staff is very friendly and the food is also great!

A really fabulous boutique hotel. Extremely comfortable and quiet. The receptionist was a delight and very informative, particularly about the FREE travel on public transport for Pensioners! Saved a few bob! The location was excellent with many bars and restaurants in walking distance. The restaurant of the hotel was first class too. All in all a most fantastic hotel, highly recommend it.

You need to be aware that a major building project is underway adjacent to the Hotel. They generously offer free Prosecco or desert in compensation. Luckily while we were there no noisy work was undertaken, probably because it was Whitsun week.
