Hostelling International, Boston

Great location, spacious, clean,stayed in 4 bed dorm female, was the only one during my 2 night stay. Quiet and cozy ,great place to meet interesting people. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

I wish I could have opened the window a little as the heat makes the room stuffy.

I always stay here if I am travelling alone or less than 2 days. I pay somewhere between $50 - $70 per night for my stay in Dec/Jan. It’s great value for money, staff is friendly, and the neighbourhood is very lively. It’s located right in China town and walking distance to the Theatre District

Beds are a little “tough” but it’s okay for the price you get pay.

I am disabled (on SSDI) and sometimes may need additional assistance or reasonable accommodations due to disability. I arrived this time with an elderly family member, a senior citizen, and we had a GREAT experience! Though HIBoston is typically for the younger and more mobile crowd, the staff were welcoming of us and treated my family with hospitality and respect. She enjoyed herself and so did I. We DEFINITELY plan to return and tell others within our community--those that are disabled and/or of retired age. We were SO impressed and encouraged. May God Bless the HIBoston Hotel! --Mario O.

I don't think anything could have been better--in fact, I even wondered whether I could work there! The environment felt safe, friendly, calm, and very peaceful.

The room light doesnt turn on with motion sensor. rm 309 bathroom, bed, and entrance door lights were fine.

24 hours 7 days a week check-in. Checkout was a breeze. Can also get drinks and snacks too!

Sometimes the queue can be a bit long but that's okay cos everyone got their turn.

I have been to hostels across the globe and this HI Boston held up! Yes its expensive, but all hostels in the US are this price, as well as large cities across the globe. I thought the beds were pretty comfortable, and had nice privacy with the curtains and personal lights. Towels were provided which was a huge plus. Try and go on one of the bar crawl nights, I was travelling with my brother and we made some great friends because of it, and ended up exploring the city with them later that week. The bathrooms get cleaned every day too which was nice. I loved the individual bathrooms that had toilet, sink and shower.

My 4 person room was getting ABSOLUTELY NUKED with heat in December. It originally was only around 63'F, which was fine because we were only in the room to sleep, but all of a sudden at day 4 the room was AN OVEN. It went up to 80 according to the thermostat, but I was the top bunk with the 2 heaters blasting into my bed, and with the curtain closed it must've been 95'F (felt like my hot Pilates class in that bed!!!). The front staff could only open the window. I know some other rooms also mentioned they were also getting really hot and always had the windows open too. Otherwise, only other downside was some of the bathrooms having broken lights, getting pretty warm after someone showered or the door got locked so we couldn't use it. All this said, I would easily come back to this hostel! I had a great time, and slept like a baby once the window got opened.

Location is the charm of the hostel. Clean bathroom and dorms were good for the stay.

Prices were high considering there was no breakfast.

The location of this property is so perfect. Walkable distance from the South Station. Connected also with the other transit options. So many food options to explore as this is located next to the Chinatown. The staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful. The facility was neat and clean. Plenty of options to explore in terms of amenities and activities.

The lights in the room were timer/ sensor operated and would switch-off every 5 mins.

It's a pretty nice place, the location is perfect if you're planning to move through the city walking, almost everything interesting is 10-30 minutes away. Being next to Chinatown gives you access to great food.

I felt so comfortable, everything was clean and the staff was very open and kind!

The hostel was super comfortable, clean, and friendly.

Location was convenient, common spaces were nice and the staff was helpful and responsive. Rooms were largely pretty quiet and every bed had a storage cubby and power outlets.

Washrooms didn't feel the most clean, with a bit of a ripe smell, room had a window that was open and couldn't be easily closed, letting in the autumn cold and outdoor noise

Everything was ok.

It was really great, clean, quiet and very good for a hostel. I like that there was individual bathrooms instead of stalls in a huge bathroom. Huge thanks also to George who combined my two bookings into one and gave me a room that suited me well. I'm very thankful everything worked out great. Most of the other staff members were also very attentive and friendly.

The only issue I had was that the air got very dry due to the heating and made me cough a lot. But at least there was heating, so I guess I can't complain too much.

I extended my stay says a lot. For my first time in Boston Hi Hostel made it exceptional!

You’re only allowed to stay 14 days per year.

Location was great and convenient. The facilities are comfortable and convenient as well. The most I like was the hostel provided a lot of activities that made people connect through their activities.

I expected the reception staff to be more helpful and friendly. But in general, they were okay.

I had good time in the hostel. The localization is pretty good.

I stayed at a hostel for the first time and was genuinely impressed by how clean it was and how many amenities it offered. It wasn’t just a place to sleep—daily activities made it a full experience, especially helpful for someone new to the area. My favorite spot was the cozy fireplace, and I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a memorable stay.

This was more so on the guest than the hostel people really don’t like cleaning up after themselves so I came prepared for those ones. I also wish breakfast here was a thing would have been so great. Some tea options and egg sandwiches yes please but minor really because there was so many food options around
