Excellent customer service and friendly staff

Cold concrete floors (bring slippers)

The location is excellent! You can walk to downtown and is next to a main shopping street. I also liked that bathroom were individual and were kept clean daily. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was able to store my bags after check-out. There are hydration station on each floor.

I am 186 cm tall and the bed was a bit too short. I could hear people talking on the corridor.

Everything was nice and convenient. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Location was fab, easy and quick to walk everywhere, including South Station to get the Silver Line to the airport. Loads of free activities provided, which were great to explore the city and get to know people. The extended freedom trail with Tommy was fantastic, don't miss it! Bathrooms were clean and there was a shower, toilet and sink in each one of them, which is very comfortable. I'd definitely stay here again!

Breakfast not available although there is free coffee in the morning. There's a place called Panera to grab breakfast 2 minutes away so this wasn't a big issue.

It was close to many attractions, everything was from a walking distance, and there was many things to do around the area.

Tommy is the best! But the whole Team is excellent! I also liked the activities like Yoga or movie nights

Someone left dirty dishes sat there for s long time

The common areas were larger than I expected, and the entire hostel was designed in a cool way to reflect Boston. The room had charging ports and curtains for privacy on the bed. There was enough space in the common area to find a quiet corner if needed, and the location could not have been better, close to a ton of bars, Chinatown, public transport and much of the downtown sites.

I have stayed at this property on various other occasions. The staff members were phenomenal. They were friendly and accommodating. I loved how clean and immaculate everything was. Returning after some time was refreshing. The rooms were clean. I met people who were interactive, kind, and hardworking. There were multiple events going on. There were tours. There was so much to do!

The location was great. Only a few minutes walk from South Station, and with plenty of restaurants around, being located next to China Town. The staff was very friendly and helpful in advising where to go for drinks or pointing out the next grocery store. The room was quiet spacious and the locker fit my whole suitcase, so that wasn't standing around and in the way. Great also was that the windows opened and the beds had black out curtains. Very clean, shared bathrooms just outside the room. Large kitchen/dining area.

It's in a great location (Chinatown) and within walking distance of train stations. It's very clean, and the staff was friendly and able to answer any questions I had. They also offer activities both inside and outside the hotel; some are paid, but most are free.

A lot of hangout spots and small nooks around the hostel. The kitchen is very large and there was even free food when I arrived at night. The beds were comfortable and there were chargers at the head and a small shelf to put your phone.

Rooms aren't that soundproof and the door to the shared rooms is very heavy and loud when closing, so I got woken up a lot.

This is a great place to stay in Boston for the money. The city has overpriced hotels. The location is convenient, and there are so many places within the hostel to spend time outside of the room. The dining and lounge areas are so spacious. I’ve been coming here for years.

The floor is too cold, there’s not much space between the wall and the bed to walk and I think it’s pretty expensive for a hostel without breakfast

The location is super it's near Chinatown and many restaurants around the area. Easy walking from/to Bright line station.they have toilet / bathroom in the room and also in the walkway of each floors make it is so convenient. Overall it's over my expectations

This is a very modern, vibrant hostel. We stayed in a private suite, which was huge and very nice. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and they organize plenty of free tours and group events, if it interests you. The building is very central, at the border of Chinatown. Free wifi was very useful, as well as the deal with a nearby parking (3 mn on foot) where we could park for a reasonable daily sum.

Although house rules are strict on noise during the evening, it can still become noisy, especially outside, which you can hear in the rooms. Even so, not too disturbing. A mini-fridge would have been a nice added value.

I greeted staff every morning with “good morning” not once was the greeting returned. Staff could be more welcoming as the facility is.

1) Walking distance from Bus Terminal and South Station, which has direct connection to Logan International Airport with the bus SL1. 2) Individual lockers at the head of bed. You can take your own padlock or buy it at reception for 8USD. 3) Bedrooms and social areas (kitcken, lobby downstairs, ...), as well as restrooms are always clean. 4) Last but not least, employees are the most welcoming, day and night. They make you feel good. Thank you all for the great experience I have had there from Monday 16th of March 2026 to Thursday 19th of March 2026.

The staff upon checking in, offered me a complimentary upgrade to a private room. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The property was clean and in a great downtown location.

Some young girls were partying in the room neari e and made loud noise till 2 am. But I was tired enough that I still slept ok.

Everything was owesome whenever I needed help their staff was there specially when I couldn’t find the can opener and she helped me.

It is a Hostel, so expect the pros and cons of a Hostel 😀 For me HI Boston is definetely marking the upper end of the Hostel scale. Staff is super helpful and friendly, they also provide a lot to try get you in touch with others and offer activities etc. The place is very well organized, and they try to keep everything clean and as comfortable a possible. I loved the location - very central and Chinatown just arround the corner with dozens of great opportunities to eat out.

my bed was by the window, and there was a cold draft..thank goodness I had a travel blanket . The entire room was cold. The light switch for the room seemed to be far from the door. The room was dark when I arrived. I had to put my suitcase in the doorway and use my phone flashlight to get enough light from the hallway and my phone to locate the light switch. Some sort or nightlight on the switch or motion sensor light would be very helpful to see around

The staff were very helpful. I'm glad that I could do an early check-in because if not, it would have been a nightmare to carry my backpack with me to the JFK Presidential Library and Museum, especially if backpacks are forbidden there. The welcome party was enjoyable. I made some friends my age and everyone I interacted with were nice and friendly to me at all times. The bed was comfortable enough. The room and bathroom were clean. The value for the money was outstanding. Because of that, I would love to stay at the HI Boston Hostel again the next time I stay overnight in Boston.

What I didn't like was that my room wasn't too full. There was just one other person staying in the same room I was staying in. I was expecting that I would have a full room with amazing people. Instead, there was one person only. So, the other thing that would make my stay better is being in a room with at least 2-3 other people. That way, I don't feel in need of connection or bored in my room. Other than that, great place and great stay.

Great Location and nice staff !

Unfortunately the heater in my room didn't work properly (and Boston in February is quite cold!). The staff manage to find a way around with an auxiliary heating.

Location to the Theater was great . Cost was also great for a room . Staff was excellent as well
