The Charles Hotel, Boston

Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and spacious. The location was exactly what we needed. And on site restaurant Henrietta's Tabble was delicious and the staff was very attentive.

Excellent location! The ambiance has a classic, Harvard-style charm. Breakfast was fantastic—truly a highlight! The rooms were clean and spacious, and the amenities smelled amazing.

Staff communication could definitely be improved. We were initially told that parking was included, then someone else mentioned there was a fee for valet parking, and later we were informed that parking had a fee every time we entered. It was all very confusing—and to be honest, I’m still not sure what the actual parking policy was.

Furniture. Wooden chairs without even a cushion?? Uncomfortable seating. I get it that it reflects historic settings, but thatbwas way too uncomfortable for even a 2 hr online meeting. The furniture needs to be replaced with something comfortable.

The staff were courteous and receptive to my last minute changes and requests.

The Saturday night room rate was extremely high -- we were willing to pay because of convenience and our familiarity with the Charles after many past stays.

Comfort, location.

Great hotel, comfortable, with gym, several restaurants and sofa areas, next to Harvard Kennedy School. I was surprised however to note that their wifi network is unsecured (without password). Most company policies today don’t allow to be connected to unsecured networks (data risks), so I ended up using hotspot (not always stable). This is annoying for businesses travelers.

Feels recently renovated or refreshed. Very attractive design. Good bar and very good formal restaurant. Perfect location.

Valet parking at check in on a cold, rainy, windy night was a mess and the rooms are a not large, but are ok sized.

Convenient location

Heightened - and unexplained - security presence with Dept of homeland Security, Secret Service, etc all over the place. Price gouging - certainly not worth $ 955. My weekend stay is the equivalent to one week in Sicily - and Harvard ain’t Sicily.

Location was great for Harvard and not too far from Boston central. Staff were very helpful and the restaurant was a lovely place for breakfast and dinner on the night we arrived. We also enjoyed the outside space for a drink in the evening just outside the bar and the servers in both the restaurant and the bar were delightful. The beds were so comfy with gorgeous linen and it was lovely to have a bath as well as a shower. Everything was spotlessly clean.

Superb location in Harvard Square. Sophisticated peaceful ambience. Beautiful facilities, including 3 wonderful restaurants on site. Very welcoming and responsive staff.

This is a really great hotel right on Harvards campus. We were able to walk to multiple restaurants and stores in Harvrd Square.

The Charles had a lovely mix of old world charm meets modern conveniences. Our room was spacious and well appointed. I appreciated the “Harvard chairs,” Nespresso machine, robes, and slippers provided. The location can’t be beat - I recommend it if you’re visiting Cambridge.

The only thing they missed was refilling our Nespresso pods when they cleaned our room - everything else was flawless!

The staff was extremely welcoming and attentive. The hotel itself is well decorated and extremely clean.

I genuinely have no complaints outside of no mini fridge in the room!

I was impressed by the staff from lobby to kitchen to cleaning very friendly and courteous 👍👍. Area is walkable with lithe of things to do and eat.

For the value of the room it was too expensive and no complementary breakfast which is an added expense a good simple breakfast buffet would have been lovely specially for people from out of town traveling with kids.

Room was quiet, great view to the square in front of hotel and very clean. Wonderful linen and clean bathroom with ample towels.

Front desk person at checkin was some " visiting" student from India who could not even answer simple questions about the hotel- such as how much the breakfast would cost. Doorman did not even offer to open the door- any time we walked through.

Comfortable bed & luxurious bed linen / pillows. Great in-room dining. Location was excellent.

There was an adjoining room (locked door to room next door) from my room & the sound proofing between the rooms was not as good as expected. This only impacted me the first night/morning of my 5-night stay.

It is an attractive hotel, conveniently located, with a nice view of Harvard Square. We arrived early and yet they accommodated us by providing an alternative room.

No book in room that explained services or location of amenities, etc. Consequently, I used none of them. Only one comfy chair for two guests. Restaurant was unwilling to make a reservation for 8 people.

The rates of the stay was rather insane. It was more than I make a week which was ridiculous.

The staff was very helpful, and the location was perfect for us. Our double room was super comfortable and spotless - also very charmingly decorated. The whole hotel is well set up with good options for meeting others, food and just taking a break in the lobby areas.

the location and the conformtable of the hotel is very nice. But I could not book the breakfast included with my stay, so I have to pay separetly.

the wealth in this time is no too good to take a walk down the river. And the furniture some time should fix the broken one or you can change the new updated.
