Villa Reale, Bordeaux

The building was beautiful and the location charming - a very, very lively square, charming aspect - and the bedroom placed at the rear meant that it was still quiet. The standard of cleanliness was high and help was discreet but always available from a very kind host. The design of the apartment was lovely.

Exceptionally good. Pre-arrival communications (and comms during stay) were excellent. The building has been beautifully renovated, and the apartment is beautifully decorated and in an excellent location (in the old city center). Highly recommended!

I can't speak highly enough. The property is absolute luxury, from the furnishings, to the linens, the design, the double glazed windows, all the way through to the building itself. So many cafés, restaurants, sights within easy walking distance. Greatly recommend and will return.

Below weren't issues for me, however could be for someone elderly or not able-bodied. The apartment is located in an area that doesn't allow traffic. Therefore moving luggage through the streets may be troublesome for some. Additionally, there is no lift. Again, that could be difficult for some with heavy luggage.

The apartment is excellent with everything you need to comfortably accommodate a family of four. The location is perfect, in the heart of the city and close to everything.

Carrying our suitcases up 6 flights of stairs, but we knew there was no lift when booking. There is only a bath in the second bedroom with hand held shower hose with very low water flow. Beautiful bathroom but would've been better with a standing shower.

There was only one shower in two of the apartments which were located in the bedroom en suite. We were four people in the apartment (two in the room and two on the sofa bed) and the folks on the sofa bed had to wake up the two in the bedroom in order to have a shower

Great location in downtown area. Fantastic air-conditioning during hot weather. Wine selection to purchase. Proximity to restaurants, attractions and shopping.

Old town traffic and limited car access.

We loved everything. It was central so in the heart of everything. We took great pleasure in popping downstairs to eat and enjoyed the atmosphere of the square. The secondary glazing was very effective and the apartment was clean, fresh and comfortable. The decor was beautiful which echoed the Art Deco era and we would most definitely visit again. The Host's communication was fantastic which we appreciated as we arrived late and all went well. Thank you and see you again soon.

Loved everything about this stay, beginning with Alice being so so wonderful before our trip and upon arrival and during our trip for all my questions and needs. Awesome service. The apartment itself is spic and span, lovely, and in an excellent location.

No elevator but we knew this ahead of time

Absolutely loved this apartment: location was great, and really comfortable. We were so happy here.

We were on grandson babysitting duty. Being on the 2nd floor, with no lift, was ‘challenging’. But safe to leave the push-chair at the foot of the stairs.

Central location overlooking an attractive square in the historic town centre. Stylish decor. Comfortable bed and sofa bed. Very well equipped. Daily cleaning service included. The basket with tea and coffee supplies and the couple of bottles of complementary mineral water were a nice touch.

The shower tray is very shallow and it was very easy for water to spill out onto the bathroom floor. We mopped this up, but a line of silicone sealant along the edge of the shower tray might be helpful to prevent this in future. We had two standard sized 'roller' long-weekend sized suitcases and there was really no where to put them in the bedroom as it was very compact - one we put on to the side table, the other had to stay on the floor which is not ideal as it got in the way to and from the bathroom. Perhaps a recess could be made in the wardrobe to fit a suitcase rack. We had our teenage son with us who slept on the sofa bed in the living room. The apartment is very compact. With three of us for just two nights it was fine. But it's such an elegant apartment it's really better suited for a couple.

The location is right in the city square, apt is very well decorated, clean and well-equipped

We had to roll our luggage ~4 short blocks as cars are not allowed in that area and carry them up stairs as there were no elevators.

Beautiful apartment, great location with many fabulous restaurants and bars close by. The weather in Bordeaux was very hot during our stay but the aircon in the apartment kept it cool. Very helpful to have a washing machine with a silk programme too! The bed is super comfy and the apartment well equipped and cleaned daily. Just like staying a suite in a boutique hotel. Our host was fabulous - organising a cab for us on our final day

Location was absolutely fabulous, close to everything . If I had any queries, responses were always replied to by Alice very quickly . Bonus for me was a washing machine and dryer! and cool air conditioning on a very hot week.

Perfect in every way

The recommendations of Karl’s was fantastic. The location couldn’t be beaten. Close to everything including shops/ restaurants, parking and tram. Felt very safe. The apartment was fully soundproof. Very clean and beautifully furnished.

There are no lifts, but we were informed. Couldn’t get the speakers to work (didn’t try very hard but some instructions next to them could be handy).

The location was fantastic - the best reason to return to the apartment.

The bathroom could have been a bit more spacious and the building should have had a lift.

If use sofa bed in the living room, little bit noisy because living room is in front of the common open place. but it’s not big deal. If prépare year plug, will be no problem.

very roomy, gorgeous design, perfect location. Laundry and small kitchenette was very helpful mid-trip. on a beautiful plaza with restaurants and cafes right at the door, yet the apartment was very quiet.

Fantastic apartment! Loved the interior design

Very modern, all amenities and equipment worked absolutely well. They have a modern two-in-one oven and microwave. Perfect space saving and sleek unit. The place is compact yet spacious, with high ceilings, crockery are very complete. There is also a drying rack which is perfect for travellers after washing clothes without having to hang out the laundry all over the unit. It even has a google nest which is a night light. Wifi worked very well. Very well thought our plan for a unit. Love the fact we didn’t need to carry any keys nor keycards with us. Hence very calm and peaceful about not worrying about calling any locksmiths.

Beautiful apartment in a lovely building. Everything was really thought out. Lots of nice touches like Nespresso pods and jam and the Bose speakers.

The apartment was beautiful, it was decorated very pleasantly and in a great location.

The main bedroom does not have a toilet in the master bedroom. The bathroom is located near the kitchen. Also, there is no elevator. We had to carry our baggage up 3 flights of stairs.

It was really easy to check in, although not ideal to have to walk up to the third-floor with all of our luggage. I think it was a fair price based on that and the apartment itself was lovely and very comfortable. We loved the location and were impressed that it could be right on the place without being noisy.

My only complaint was that there was no elevator. I also would have liked to have conditioner for my hair.

Great location. nice area of Bordeaux. Clear instructions on locating and accessing the apartment. Air con is the best. Perfect temperature and quiet. at night it is so quiet. no noise at all from outside. basically it’s a fantastic place to stay!

the plug on the bath didn’t work so couldn’t use it. This meant one shower for all of us. No time to call and fix it as was the morning we were leaving.

beautiful, delightful apartment in a perfect location overlooking a town square - the master bedroom is an inner room with a window from a center opening of the building for fresh air, delightful light and great quiet - the bed was king size and extremely comfortable. the living room was also very comfortable and tastefully done - there is a full kitchen in the hallway which worked for us to cook some food - our regret is that we did not book this apartment for more nights, as we were traveling around the region - we would absolutely stay here again1

none of th e following changes our top rating, but these were what we thought could improve the property - some are easier to address than others; - allow the a/c to be set cooler than 21c - at least to 20c - netflix on the tv had no sound - the shower head sprayed water onto the bathroom floor and was not able to ensure it would not - the door lock will set off an alarm if you don’t know exactly how to open it correctly, requiring the owner (who is on premises and was lovely!) to come down to reset it twice - fortunately it wasn’t late at night

The location is fantastic and the decor/furnishings of this small flat were beautiful. The kitchen and all of its amenities was a bonus although we didn't stay long enough to use it fully. We really loved the property. Sofia's ice cream store below usually results in a lot of people hanging outside the front door, but what wasn't really ever an issue.

We obviously booked this place because it had a sleeper sofa and separate bedroom for 2 single ladies. However, the 'fine print' of charging 30 Euro extra per night if you actually sleep on the soft wasn't clear from Booking.com. You should probably indicate that and the amount a little more clearly so the total price is fully disclosed at time of booking. The Booking.com website just indicated that there might be an extra charge.

Such a great apartment in the perfect location! The interior is very cozy, inviting and comfortable, equipped with the things you need. Beds are very comfortable and everything is sparkling clean. We traveled as a family and we just loved the design of the property and the entire experience. I highly recommend it and would love to stay again.
