The Circus Hostel, Berlin

Great, well maintained property. Very nice and clean inside, friendly staff. The bed was comfy in my opinion. Shame I didn't spend more time!

A few little things here and there: the locker by my desired bed could not be locked due to bad positioning of the little "loops", one of the bathrooms could use a space to sit down while changing/ somewhere to hang the clothes.

The entire hostel has a great character and the rooms were at a very good level for a hostel. The team were very up their game and seemed to enjoy being there which is refreshing.

The pillow were very big and not so comfortable. That would be my only recommendation.

Great stay, comfortable beds and plenty of showers and toilets, very clean. I have been in many hostels and the showers are spot on, with plenty of space and very good pressure. I loved the bar downstairs, great atmosphere. Really good location and all that needed. The USB plugs on the bunk bed didn't work and I was in upper bed so I could not charge my phone overnight. Staff friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it and hope to come back. Danke schön :)

The personal was great and the beds were comfortable and provided some privacy (although I like a lot better when they have the curtain, but the space around the head was great for storage and privacy) There were enough WC and showers, and they were quite clean. The showers were large and had great water pressure and hot water, which is not something you get at every hostel)

The people were very loud in the corridors and the rooms and the isolation was bad so you could hear everything happening in the other rooms as well as the corridors, it sometimes woke me up or prevented me from falling asleep

Great location and really cool interior. Clean and free breakfast snacks and tea available at reception was a lovely touch.

The location is really amazing. In the heart of Mitte, I explored the neighborhood walking, photographing and eating in various restaurants. The hostel is super clean, and you get clean sheets. You can rent out towels for a fee. I stayed in 8 people mixed dorm and the room is spacious! They could have more luggage space, but you can leave your valuables in a safe at the reception free of charge. Everyone who works there is super lovely.

The cafe attached to the hostel is overpriced. I paid 13€ for grilled cheese. The girl working there was being passive-agressive for no reason (other than she woke up too early) which annoyed me. Plenty of nice cafes around so just skip this one.

The location was amazing. Anything I needed help with the staff had the answer. People at the hostel were friendly. I felt safe and it was clean. Even with a shared shower and toilet situation they were always clean and smelt fresh

No kitchen and have to have staff help you to access the fridge, but Berlin has tons of food close by

spacious rooms, the beds were really well displayed for privacy it’s close to public transportation connections and easy to get there.

It is very modern very clean and has a great location.

I got a top bed even though i asked for a bottom one with months of anticipation. Both ports to charge cellphones on my bed didn't work.

I have stayed in the circus hostel numerous times over the years. I always associate berlin with the hostel and the perfect stay. It's in a fantastic location surrounded by cafes, restaurants and bars and the metro just outside the door. It's always spotless both the rooms and the shower rooms. And the staff are fantastic. Very friendly and always there to help. Will always come back to the circus

I liked the arrangement of the beds and the way one is able to get a little bit of privacy in there. It feels safe

In the room, the lower bunk bed had extremely limited headspace, making it impossible to sit comfortably. The gap between the lower and upper bed was too small. also, some part of the bed was hidden behind an almirah, so complete space was not available for use. the bed socket was not working, i couldn't charge my phone.

Its a big house with many rooms, i guess they weren't all booked so i was in the room alone or with one other. It had decent showers and toilets

The outside noise kind of gets in, but just be sure to wear earplugs to bed and you'll be alright

I could not sleep well because when the door opens and closes it has a beep that kept me from falling sleep when other come and go. Also a lot of noise from the outside.

The Circus hostel is located in the heart of Berlin City.. All historical places are on walking distance from the hostel. The Circus Hostel staff was very cooperative and friendly.

Thought Circus Hostel is at a major transport connection, the rooms are completely quiet. Everything is very clean. Lockers are large.

I liked everything, including the Rosie Cafe. I didn't use the bar much, but it's own-brewed beer was tasty, and the place seemed very popular.

Clean and comfortable. Good Christmas Day event — this was much appreciated. Good atmosphere, especially the onsite bar. Places to put things around the bed and while using shower etc.

No power outlet around bed — only USB outlet. Breakfast consisted of a not especially nice sandwich and a coffee from the cafe, no buffet, and was only good value if you have room for 2 sandwiches. No laundry facilities.

I liked that we were given a coupon to sample the beer in the bar and that there are different activities every night for people to join.

The bunk beds did not have curtains, so when I checked in late at night, I had to turn on the light and it disturbed some roommates that were already sleeping

The staff are super friendly and helpful. Plus, the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are well-organized. Last but not least, free lockers on the lower floor and a complimentary beer :)

Location is good, pretty central to most things. The bar is also fun. Complimentary beer tester available on arrival.

The sound sealing isn't great in the rooms so if you are sensitive to noise beware.

The bathroom wasn't the best ever, a bit oldish and quite far from the bedroom. The bed would be better with a curtain for more privacy

Full-fledged apartment in the centre of Berlin, at a convenient crossroads of many roads. 10 minutes by car to the train station, metro and tram lines on the side, supermarkets within walking distance. The kitchen had everything we needed even for a long term stay. Clean, quiet. There is delicious coffee on the ground floor. We enjoyed it all!

Great location, excellent if youre a solo traveller. Youll also meet people there that are also travelling. Lockers are available all the time. The little museum about David Hasselhoff is interesting to see and learn about. There are karaoke and bar nights every evening after 6PM and also a cafe open all the time in the morning- so the place is quite comfortable.

The door of my room was always stuck in the middle while opening and we had to push it really hard. The noise affected the sleep of travellers next to the door. I hope this issue can be solved.

I expected a big city central hostel to be rather anonymous and "formal", but boy, was I wrong! The vibe in the Circus hostel was absolutely amazing, and the staff always smiling and super helpful. They offered coffee, gave advice on what to wear to different clubs, and truly walked an extra mile for the safety of the guests and their belongings. They have a special room with code lockers, also lockers in the dorm rooms, and an additional safe at the reception if needed. Downstairs there is a bar which is a great opportunity to meet other travellers. The lobby is also great to socialize and/or work on your laptop. The U-Bahn stop is just in front of the hostel, so it is easy to get anywhere in the city, but many sightseeing spots are close enough to walk to them.

There's no kitchen, they spent so much on the decoration (which is beautiful) and didn't build a kitchen. Or a space with a microwave, tables. Thus, it would be used for socializing and for eating. Many times I had to (and others) have to eat in the room. There is only one common space, which is the bar... but not everyone drinks, so another space for socializing would be nice. The rostel also felt very cold... only in the rooms did I realize that the heaters were on. A lot of people were sick, had the flu... I think that was why too. It was hot in the room, went out into the bathroom or hallway - cold. I noticed that guests in my room got the flu because of this.

The location of this place is great. It is right the opposite of subway which was a great point of this hostel. There are couple are restaurants, stores, shops very close to the hostel. Also supermarket right the opposite of the hostel. I would say 10 out of 10 for location. Also even by around 45 minutes walk you can go sightseeing which is quite close and good to stroll in the city.

The mattress was not comfortable at all. Also it would have been great if the plugs were close to each bed. The other thing the place needs a separate area for people who wanna work.

It was a fun and great hostel! I loved that the toilets and showers were outside of the rooms.

The location is good. The rosenthaler platz U bahn and Metro station is literally next to it. There is a späti opposite to the hostel to keep you covered for late night outs and last minute buys. The staff were good and they also organise activities from time to time as well. The rooms were quite big and the beds were really comfortable. Overall not a bad place to stay and good value for money since it is quite accessible.

Here I would like to talk about the design of the room. I have travelled solo a lot and lived in a lot of different hostels. Two things were quite strange about the room. So I was living in an 8 bed mixed dorm - 4 beds on each side. On opposite sides there are two wardrobes which are completely covered on the surface with mirror on it so basically whatever you are doing can be seen by everyone in the room. I am not sure why the whole wardrobe needed to be mirrorred so heavily - a small mirror on it would be sufficient for dressing up or one can use the toilet mirrors. This was a little bit annoying. The second thing was the charging point. I took a bed on the top and the charging points are on the bottom next to the bottom bed - I have never seen a hostel with such a inconvenient design. So I cannot take my phone to my bed and keep it on the floor when I am charging. Keep a USB cable there was a USB plug next to the bed - i have a normal charger not a USB so I had to go down the bed and charge my phone every time which is very troublesome.

Most of things I like clean. Hostel is very clean . And staff is pretty nice and helpful.
