Hotel Fairmont, Beijing

Location was near to everywhere.

I have told the one night deposit refund in 2-5 working days. And I returned back to my country and asked after 6 work days about what is going on. They said it will be take a month which was freak me out. I am not only avoid to trust this hotel again but also confused to check this place next time.

The staff service in general was not bad, also the hotel looks good from outside and Indy, the swimming pool and fitness equipment are nice. Breakfast is good.

No tissues in the room, toilet paper was put by hotel cleaners staff inside the tissue box instead! the furnitures start to look a used. The music in the elevator is depressing, see for yourself..

LOUNGE on 20th floor has very limited food options. Timing too is very stringent . Should be operational until atleast 10/ 10,.30 pm

The inability of staff to communicate in English

Staff are polite and efficient, service was quick. Room is spacious and the bed was very comfortable. View and location were both very good. The Gold Member room is small but well decorated and quiet most of the time. The gym is very nice.

I am a fan of Fairmont but this one is on the low end in Fairmont standard. Staff are polite and efficient but the room, furnitures and hotel decorations are too old. Wood panels are peeling off. There were dust patches around the room. Glasses in the room needs to be cleaned before using. Lots of stain on the carpet and the lights are very outdated.

The room has an excellent layout

Hotel is fabulous. Club rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Club lounge was well equipped and lounge staff were delightful. Easy access to metro.

Staff were nice but lacked any skills of the job. I understand it’s a business hotel but business folk probably also do a bit of sightseeing. Staff lacked basic knowledge of their city. Even ordering a cab was arduous. Asked for a local restaurant recommendation and not a single front desk member of staff could help. Given the hotel doesn’t have a concierge desk they really need the front desk team to learn the basics of their city. A five star hotel unable to come up with the restaurant list or know how to get to and access the main tourist spots is simply poor management. I won’t even begin to review the restaurant staff!

We booked 3 rooms, furniture and bit old/dirty. Staff was very nice and kind but with limited English

Lift was slow The pool doesn’t have a view Housekeeping never cleaned the dirty cups and glasses throughout the whole stay but managed to keep everything else tidy!

The room is hot airconditioning is locked u cant addjust the room temp ,, the staff couldnt do anything they say oppen the window !!!

Breakfast was nicely catered, with fresh produce at a buffet, and separate hot plates, with an omelette chef who was very good. Room (Junior Suite, GOLD access) was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly, but level of spoken English were not good, except for 1 or 2 members. Similarly my Mandarin is terrible so we got by thanks to Google translate apps - they were always friendly and helpful. Gold lounge was a nice addition for a quick snack and or drink before leaving / arriving back after a long day sight seeing.

The spa is terrible. Dated and tatty. Steam rooms didn't work. Jacuzzi jets didn't work (2 did, but were barely effective / noticeable) with masking tape over the switches to operate. This spa needs serious investment. Very very disappointing. Rooms were too warm. I really dislike when a major hotel chain does not allow you to control individual room temperatures. Mine would not go lower than 19.5, which is too hot. Beijing was also unseasonably warm last week. Staff Brough a fan - noisy - and tried their best but that was all they could do they said.

The room and Gold Lounge were excellent. Its location was also very good with many tourist sites and shopping malls within easy reach.

The difficulty of arranging simple things like our taxi to the airport. We were careful to explain we had 4 large cases and a small car was arranged leading to a very uncomfortable journey.

Rooms are spacious

AC not working, no heating it was very cold in night and too hot afternoon. So room has windows that you can ask them to open, but they will come with ladder and after you open it to close it you have to call again to stuff. Very few options in room dining menu for 5 star hotel.

Staff couldn’t communicate in English. Although we are in China and not many speak English here, a high end business hotel not training staff to speak in at least basic english was hugely surprising

The people who work there are very nice and helpful. The rooms are big and comfortable. The view from the window is breathtaking.

The furniture is a little worn out and carpets are slightly damaged like someone put out cigarettes there.

I have wrote the message to the hotel when I made the reservation which it is TECHNICALLY no smoking room but I walked in 2 of rooms they are all very very strong smoke smell I was so disappointed 😞

Fanstastic hotel with an amazing staff, gym, lounge and breakfast. Try to get access to the Gold Lounge. They have amazing high tea and drinks and dinner. Totally worth it. The location is in a business district. So keep that in mind if you're looking for something more traditional.

The room was huge and the bed was very comfortable. The staff put roses in the room for our anniversary which was a lovely touch. Big bath, massage chair, Japanese toilet. Lots to be happy with.

The corridors were freezing and the property is slightly dated. Wouldn’t reccomend the location if you aren’t just coming for business

Everything was nice

I love the location, close to every place I need to go. It’s walking distance to the market and very close to my friends office.

We booked the club floor and was disappointed with the food selection. The same options daily, sometimes not very fresh, looked like it was the same cheese and cake from the day before ( very dried out cheese and hard cake. Please have more variety each day…. Not the same foods day after day.

It’s clean and nicely decorated. Massage was incredible too!

Service wasn’t great, they were slow to respond to requests and it was difficult to communicate since many didn’t speak English. The breakfast was very average too

This is my second stay here. I loved it the first time, the only thing I did not appreciate was the western food at breakfast but I must say this time I found it super good. Room service food was also great. The hotel is super clean

I loved everything about Fairmont Beijing. Location is great. Check in staff was amazing. I arrived at the hotel around the midday after long haul flight from LHR. I was given my suite straightaway. I was very impressed by the size of the suite and the massage chair in the livingroom! I didn't get to use the club lounge much as I was meeting friends and families during my stay. I popped over to the lounge one evening briefly with my Mum before heading out. There were good selections of food and drinks available. Staff at the club lounge were professional and helpful. I would highly recommend the signature Hollywood suite.

We were treated royally and would not hesitate to recommend this to other International travellers. The reception was extremely kind on our arrival to upgrade the rooms booked - not just my wife & I but also our children who had never stayed in such a luxurious size room. Thoroughly appreciated and a superb gesture. Additionally, reception were able to arrange twin beds for our children's room who had no interestnto share a bed. The hotel's ambassador Ping Wang was amazing in going way beyond her call of duty and personally walked us to a nearby recommended restaurant.

Every thing was just fantastic. The receptionists were great and so helpful. Room facilities were so beautiful.

staff was kind and helpful. Provided lots of assistance and support for non-Chinese-speaking guests. The lobby was spacious and clean. The room was big and the reception employee upgraded to a room with a better view free of charge. All in all, very pleasant staying experience with Fairmont Hotel. Will definitely recommend it to friends.

Room service was so-so. The mini bar did not have beers. On the first day, the bottles of beer ordered to our room were not cold. Did not provide bottle opener. Also, the beers were very expensive compared to other similar star hotels, RMB 55,- for a bottle of 0.33L Tsingtao.

Luxurious hotel with excellent, helpful and friendly manager and staff. Good breakfast which was included.

We did ask for a change of room which was quickly organised - only because the a/c fan was a little noisy. The alternative room was perfect, so no complaints!

The hotel is suitable for living, convenient location, clean enough.

The staff speaks only Chinese. You can order anything through a voice translator, which must be downloaded in advance. Google Translator, as you know, does not work.

I think they are just coming back to have overseas guests, so maybe the staff is not complete yet. I had some calls to the In room service where the staff could not speak english and I had to wait for someone who could and call again but sometimes they did not call me back, I had to. Not a huge problem though! I honestly thought the quality of the western food for breakfast (especially baked products) was very bad.
