Sir Albert Hotel, Amsterdam

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was great, quiet location with lots of cafes, restaurants , shops around. There is also a daily market down the road. You can also hire a bike from the hotel, and have access to a gym a few shops away. Walking distance to the museums

Location was great with quick access to Metro. The museums are within walking distance. The staff is really nice and helpful.

The rooms are small for the cost but that was not unusual for Europe. The cost of breakfast ($25 - $29 per person) is very high and we did not use it.

Great to experience de Pijp, close to Central, and with a cool vibe. Very comfy bed and room with lots of space. Reception staff was super nice.

Didn’t love the breakfast or that the shower opened right into the room.

Location, lovely boutique design, classy, comfortable bed and pillows, wonderful staff. Restaurant is lovely. Highly recommend it for people who value boutique hotels with character over big hotel chains.

Nice room, friendly staff. Excellent location - close to De Pijp metro station which connects to Centraal station. Flexibility with restaurant menu to take account of dietary requirements. Good breakfast selection (scrambled eggs excellent)!

If I'm going to be picky, the slightly cramped restaurant space. Nothing else to dislike really.

Staff were amazing, rooms were nicely decorated, albeit a little small. Breakfast was lovely, great selection. I got a complimentary breakfast due to having to change rooms, nice touch. TY

The lights in the first room were not working, and then the lamp in the next room did not work. A little annoying as lighting and ambience is really important to me. Nonetheless nothing to lose sleep over, and I loved my stay.

Location was good. Staff were helpful in moving us to another room as the one we were in was too noisy with the restaurant/club underneath. The bed was comfortable in the deluxe room (the second room we were placed in).

The noise of the restaurant / club underneath. The remote didn’t work and the tv was at an awkward angle. You are overlooked by residents opposite so have to keep the blinds down at all times.

Location of the hotel is perfect if you are looking for short walk to museums and downtown etc. The staff is amazing, very helpful, supportive and super nice! I also liked breakfast - a lot of choice and high quality, same for the dinner - I would definitely recommend the restaurant in the hotel! Overall very nice and pleasant experience with the hotel.

You can fine some minor things in the room that might require a bit of renovation, but those are very minor things.

Sir Albert is a contemporary hotel, nicely fitted into an older building. Location is very good for the big musea, the Royal Concert gebouw and for the Albert Cup market. Room very comfortable. Top marks for the breakfast buffet.

The corridors, the stairs and the lift are all very very dark, to the point that the stairs would be safer if they were properly illuminated. This might be fashionable, but does that need to get a higher priority than safety? We did find the place nice, but in terms of value for money it is not top of our list.

Cozy and great location

Drain smell in the morning as we were ground floor. Unfortunately something common in Amsterdam. Not necessarily the hotels fault.

location is amazing! you have all you need around you. and it is close to city center that you can walk there. close to main transportation like tram and metro. the hotel staff, and mainly the front desk, were super helpful and nice

The accommodations and the staff were wonderful! The room amenities were modern and thoughtful. The location was also great.

Clean rooms, great location, decent service. Amazing products in the room: shampoo, conditioner and so on that felt luxurious.

Not great value for money, pretty uncomfortable small dark room at ground level with a blocked window so you could not see out. Felt a bit claustrophobic.

The staff were amazing, they were kind, helpful and keen to recommend you places which worth a visit. The hotel enterior is really modern, comfortable. The room with balcony was a dream with all the rooftops and city view. They provide you with all the amenities you might need during a short or long stay. In total all was really perfect :)

The only thing is the beds' size and softness, for us (we r more into solid matrasses), the pillows were huge, would be nice to have some smaller ones and maybe a bit bigger/wider beds :)

Location was perfect for exploring Amsterdam. Lots of restaurants, bars, pretty things to walk around and see but not in the most crowded central area.

It would have been nice if the windows in the hotel room would have opened. We would have enjoyed fresh air in the room.

If I were to nitpick bigger bath towels would be nice but other than that no complaints at all!

Staying on first floor in a room above the Japanese restaurant below on a Friday and Saturday night I hadn’t expected loud music until 2am each night- it was difficult to sleep.

The staff is very friendly. Breakfast was not the best unfortunately.

This is a good hotel with friendly staff, very well situated in an area (de Pijp) with lots of restaurants and cafés, and not very far from the main museums (within walking distance). Metro is not far away, so everything is well within reach also via public transport.

It is however expensive (as Amsterdam generally is where accommodation is concerned). I had also expected more design elements for a hotel that describes itself as such. The bathroom was also not separate from the bedroom, which is not always pleasant for the person wishing to sleep longer.

The staff was extremely friendly and ready to help! The breakfast was excellent.

Very dark corridors, which needed a good clean, bedside tables on both sides of bed. Rooms not hugely big. Not sure I liked the bathroom sink inside the bedroom itself.

Great location. The room was very comfortable and quite large for Amsterdam standards. Lovely breakfast with buffet and a la carte options.

The hotel is a bit run down compared to our last visit in 2016: some of the spotlights in the room where missing, remote control for lights wasn't working anymore. There was no proper bathroom in the room but two cubicles for shower and WC. And this is fine, but lights for both shower and WC were very very tricky to turn on or maybe just not working properly, and it's a big problem as there's no other source of light in the cubicles and keeping the shower door open would just flood the entire room. Buffet was great on the first day, quite disappointing on the second one: a lot of items missing and never replaced, salmon gone, donuts gone, even empty plates were gone for nearly 10 minutes. Very much below the standard of the hotel.

What an awesome experience! Nice location, staff is extremely gentle, delicious breakfast and restaurant. I highly recommend this hotel.

The room could be a little bit bigger.

Location was good for us, room was nice and comfy.

The main drawback was lack of cupboard. We stayed for a week and lived out of a suitcase which was very uncomfortable!!!!!! No drawers, no space to put clothes besides few hagers. We stayed at room 322 which has connecting room. You could hear everything from room 324 which was weird and uncomfortable as well.

Did not eat the breakfast at hotel as there were many charming places nearby. The neighbourhood has lots of bars and cafes with the museums in easy walking distance and a subway nearby.

The bathroom is not at all private, which was fine for me but could be embarrassing for people not comfortable with that. Small red light district around the corner. Again, this is not an issue and it is easy to avoid.

Second time we’ve used this hotel. Very nice rooms, good facilities and great staff. Excellent location close to museums and easy walk to centre. Fabulous local area full of restaurants, bars and famous market.

The bed was comfortabel and I had a good rest.

The room was cold, we used the heater which was in the closet. The room was too dark.

Abit disappointed that we didn’t get shown where the gym was / they didn’t really explain that Izakaya was part of the hotel. We also ordered something to be put in our rooms for our birthday and it wasn’t there.
