Motel One, Glasgow

The room was comfortable with plenty of storage for clothes and luggage. Overall the quality of the bed and furniture is very good for the relatively low price of the rooms. The room and bathroom were clean, and despite the location near Glasgow Central, there was no noise to disturb sleep.

The elevators are always a little cumbersome in Motel One hotels, and unless you are on the top floor, it is usually quicker to take the stairs.

The property was close to Glasgow central station and very convenient for the shops cafes and buses there was a nice area inside the hotel near reception for relaxing, the room I stayed in was nice and quiet with a nice view over the city, the bed was very comfortable the shower was straight forward, I didn’t have any food or drinks at the hotel chose to eat out on my travels.

There was nothing I didn’t like.

I liked being back home the hotel facilities were more than adequate for me not the best hotel that I have been in but I cannot find fault with the staff as they were excellent

The breakfast for £12.95p while not the most expensive I would have thought that I could have a hot breakfast but it was continental breakfast only

I booked for a quick overnight stay on my way home after a conference. The hotel was really conveniently located for traveling by train as it is just next to the station. My room was very quiet, clean, and had everything I wanted. The hotel itself was modern and clean and the staff were great. I got a good price for the room at 60GBP and felt it was incredible value at that price. Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel bar was a delight. 40 various types of gin. Location excellent.

We didn't choose to have breakfast as it seemed expensive and we had jetlag and may not have utilised it to its full. We liked the hotel - was busy and great quick lifts (or stairs were good exercise for me). Room was quite spacious and all amenities.

The staff were great, any questions I had were answered accurately and quickly. The hotel is stunning and clean. I had an amazing sleep. Even though we are in the centre of Glasgow, there was a security guard checking everyone coming into the hotel. Fantastic discount on the NCP car park a couple of doors down.

On the top floor the room was far too warm from the rooms below, had to keep the window open and can get noisy with trains and traffic, although I loved the buffet style cold breakfast, the hotel could benefit from a small kitchen doing cooked breakfast.

Location and value for money

The breakfast area was too small and not fit for purpose. We used it twice and it was very busy. Lots of things ran out and it took a while to replenish or, for example, cut fruit the hotel ran out completely so under ordering. Staff had to bring everything through where people were sitting. Every time people spilled into the reception area. The area needs redesigning. The staff did the best they cd in a stressful situation.

The breakfast was ok, but very disappointing for £13.50, and chaotic for the number of customers in the small space. While I was very impressed with the the hotel, it was quite expensive for Glasgow (although it may have been a busy period). Better coffee and a fridge in the room would also be good.
