Everything was amazing! The property was beautiful and very comfortable. Everyone on the team was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Bolaji was especially outstanding, he was super helpful, always checked in on us, and offered great recommendations whenever we asked. He told us about the fantastic movie selection and pointed out interesting areas around the city. Ben from concierge was also amazing, very helpful, and gave us excellent suggestions for places to visit across Scotland.

There was nothing we didn’t like. Everything met or exceeded our expectations.

Great location, loved the breakfast and the hotel staff were great. The hotel is so glam and beautifully decorated.

The curtains in the room didn’t shut completely which meant there was a big chunk of light coming in the room and meant we didn’t sleep that well.

The location of the hotel is fantastic - also the hotel is very modern and has all the amenities- I loved the W Deck on the top floor with panoramic views of the city.

Although the hotel staff upgraded our rooms it was a room suitable for the differently able - we were specially disappointed with the bathroom where their was not even a glass partition for the shower - we were not even informed about this so it felt more like a downgrade…

Wanted to book another night but was told id have to do it on the website. Bit strange surely they could do it at the reception???

Breakfast, rooms and overall ambience of the hotel was brilliant.

Some of the staff could be a bit friendlier. Mostly the service was good but it did feel understaffed In some areas/staff lacked a bit more training.

Location is excellent, quality of everything about the hotel is 5 star. The service was even better, highly recommend it

I had an excellent stay at the hotel. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. The room was beautiful and clean. Don’t miss the view from the rooftop. The location was also perfect—close to the new town (Princess Street), next to a mall, around 10 to 15 minutes walking to the old town.

The room needs a mirror and better lighting for applying the makeup. The bathroom needs a shelf to place our toiletries.

Breakfast area was quiet amazing with the views and quality food. Hotel is located in St. James Quarter! Close to literally everything you want to see in Edinburgh.

Allocated a disabled room, very poorly laid out for normal use. Room service was extremely slow Staff were overworked and under pressure Extremely expensive and not to genuine 5 star standard of for example The Balmoral or Gleneagles Town house

Location was perfect; a quiet spot right in the heart of Edinburgh with a view to die for from the restaurant at the top. The staff were delightful. Genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs and enjoy ensuring their guests were having a good time. From the moment we engaged with reception we felt welcome.

I'm not a fan of toilets separated from bedrooms by opaque glazing. And whilst the rooms really were funky, I'd still rather have a separate bathroom with a door rather than a separated area for ablutions. The restaurant food was very good, but the menu is quite limited.

Location is amazing, the breakfast is delicious (gorgeous views from the restaurant too) and the beds were crazy comfy. We received a complimentary upgrade to a studio for a two night stay and it was great and the staff were all really helpful.

A little bit on the pricey side but worth it for a treat weekend!

The location was great. Staff exceptional as you would expect at the W. Very polite and happy to go out of their way to help. I told them it was my husband’s birthday and they gave us an upgrade and a bottle of proseco to celebrate. Property is stunning.

The only negative thing was the cleanliness of the place. Housekeeping was genuinely terrible. They kept forgetting to replace towels, one day forgot to clean our room altogether. Stains on the curtains. Dust bunnies in the corners. Didnt look like they owned a hoover at all. After three nights didnt change our sheets. When we complained about the sheets not being changed the sheets were changed but this time had weird stains on them. Genuinely not what i would expect from the W.

The hotel is exceptional our room was so big and thought of everything the hotel service was amazing we used the spa facilities which were amazing the staff were so friendly and welcoming an extra touch was added to our room we had foil 29 balloons as a surprise will definitely be back and recommend to anyone

I love a great hottub and did not blink twice about paying sixty pounds for a private tub, experience shower, and sauna. But the hot tub experience was poor - the tub was not jetted, just a few bubbles; the private room was very warm - the design should have included the ability to open a window; the experience shower was sold as “the pressure may be too much” and I guess compared to the weak shower in the suite we had it was stronger but it was certainly not a powerful shower. I canceled my other bookings for this experience.

The W Hotel Edinburgh is undoubtedly one of the most visually striking and modern hotels in the city. The design is sleek and contemporary, with a definite "wow" factor from the moment you walk in. The room was beautifully furnished, with all the high-tech amenities you’d expect, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The views over Edinburgh were a real highlight, especially from the rooftop bar. Service was generally excellent—friendly and attentive staff, especially at reception and in the bar. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Edinburgh, perfect for exploring both the historic and modern sides of the city. Overall, a luxurious stay that delivers on style and atmosphere.

We weren’t able to access the outside roof lounges, they should make the glass longer to still be able to go out because Edinburgh we always be windy that’s why I haven’t given 10 out of 10, also as we got the Superior King with Balcony Suite Breakfast should be included.

Fabulous location and exciting contemporary architecture. Great views from the restaurant and bar which offers a well prepared global menu. Breakfast was a great menu based feast.

The beds are really comfy and the rooms a nice size. Shower perfect. Doormen and reception staff really great, such a friendly welcome each day, gave me a drink on arrival and a water to take with me as I checked out. Staff in W lounge (lounge bit not bar bit) brilliant during the week. I was doing work daily and guy remembered my order each day and was lovely. New, modern hotel with interesting design. Spa amazing. The lifts are so cool. Perfect location. Rooftop views stunning.

Housekeeping wasn't consistent - some days my room was turned down, others it wasn't. Rooms not that thoroughly cleaned, lots of dust, glasses not cleaned, and towels left unfolded and on the side. I stayed for 6 nights and had a note saying my bedding would be changed after 3 nights but it wasn't. Bar staff in W rooftop were quite rude (it felt like I was an inconvenience to them to have to get me a pepsi). Bar manager behind the bar in W lounge was really loud and a bit rude to junior staff also behind the bar (told them he didnt want to hear them moaning and couldn't be dealing with them today) as I sat there. Not as 5* in the details as other 5* offerings I've stayed at.

Warm and attentive staff who truly resonated with the five-star hotel vibe. The location is excellent, very convenient for shopping and dining.

Questionable room layout for a deluxe option. The open-plan bathroom overlooks the bed, which lacks a headboard, and faces a floor-to-ceiling window. The curtains did not provide sufficient blackout, making it difficult to sleep well. The corridor was quite noisy at night, with frequent sounds of people walking, talking, and doors swinging.

The location is the best! It's real close to the train station, attached to many shops & eateries. Beds are comfortable. Everyone was very nice. Everything is walkable from here. I had two rooms for one night, but I wished I had booked here for the first 4 nights before we left for a 3 day tour of the highlands. I had just paid for our hotel elsewhere & saw a good price for the W for those same nights for the same price. If I ever come back, I'll book the W.

Very helpful staff. I was there for a stag weekend and arrived at 11am so room not ready, of course. But the staff were great - showed me a quiet bathroom where I could change and then took my bags to be delivered to my room later in the day. I got an upgrade which, sadly, I didn't get much benefit of as I was out partying all day. As promised, the staff phoned me later to tell me the room number I had been allocated so they could not have been more helpful.

Room view wasnt quite what i expected, but when i asked if there was any other rooms i was told unfortunately the hotel was fully booked, however the lady i spoke to on reception added free breakfast for us which was great.

Location, style. Proximity to the main attractions. Bar and restaurant at the top overlooking the city. Very convenient parking underneath. Staff very good and helpful.

It was expensive and there were extra charges that seemed unnecessary or high. A little thing - some errors with breakfast, muffin not toasted. Avocado slimy.

Location was excellent, everything was close to you, attached to the shopping Mall, staff were very friendly and helpful..

Need to make sure which hotel building you will get, as it might not be the round new one.so we requested to change our room from the normal building hotel to the new round hotel (both are just in frount each other) we change our room to experience the new hotel & and it was wonderful as it was attached to the shopping mall and had entrance thru it too.
