Built in 1856 by the Italian Navy, this historic beacon served as a critical guide for sailors for over a century. Remarkably, it remains a functioning lighthouse today, with the automated light still operating in a tower separated from the main guest residence.
Transforming this remote sentinel into a luxury retreat required a masterclass in preservation. The renovation maintained the structure’s original heavy stone walls and vaulted ceilings while layering in elegant, minimalist furnishings. Because it sits at the southernmost point of Sardinia, the hotel offers incredible, unobstructed 360-degree views of the sea, where you can often spot dolphins playing in the water below.
The property is purposefully secluded, accessible only by a private 4×4 shuttle service provided by the staff. This isolation is its greatest asset, ensuring complete tranquility for guests. You’ll find no televisions here; instead, the focus is on the infinity pool that seems to drop directly into the ocean and a high-end underground cinema.
Nearby, the area is famous for some of Sardinia’s most pristine coastline, including the world-renowned beaches of Su Giudeu and Cala Cipolla. Beautiful, but it’s more like a museum than a place to stay.
An interesting and unusual place, staying inside an old lighthouse is a really cool experience. But in my opinion, there’s nothing much to do there for more than one day.
Getting to civilization is quite difficult; the road to the lighthouse is just bare sand and stones.
This year, we were unlucky with the wind Maestrale, it lasted for two weeks. And with that kind of wind, there’s absolutely nothing to do on the cape. You can’t even swim in the pool, everything gets blown away.
The food is tasteless and extremely expensive — €100 per person. And you won’t have any alternative for the dinner, because, as I mentioned, there’s no road and no lights at night.

Staff was lovely and location is special but it’s over priced.
Location is special and staff is wonderful.
Way overpriced for what you get. 860 per night in the middle of September should mean a spacious comfortable bathroom with a bath tub.
