Palais de Chine Hotel, Taipei

-Great location. Close from the airport MRT. You can go through an underground shopping street and don't need to walk outside. -Nice and friendly staffs and cleaning ladies. -Very environmentally conscious. There was a water dispenser in each floor, and room has 2 glass bottles that you can fill the water. Carbonated water was available from the dispenser too. We didn't really need to buy plastic bottle water. No disposal amenities.

-Floor didn't look clean even they do cleaning everyday. -I stayed at Superior Twin. Only one thing we were not satisfied was about bathroom, that both bath tub and toilet didn't have enough privacy. Bath tub was located right next to the entrance door, there was no "bathroom". Bath tub is not located in the bathroom, there was no door that separates bath tub and the room and there was only curtain. Toilet only has glass door that top part is completely open, and the wall between the toilet and the room was slide mirror that you can show the toilet to the bedroom. There was no big deal with privacy as I stayed with my family, but even with family it was bit awkward that you need to take off your clothes right in front of them.

This is one of the top hotels to stay in. Large, fancy rooms and in one of the best locations.

Our expectations were surpassed. We booked a superior deluxe room and were upgraded to an executive suite. I love the 1920s-inspired interior decor. The hotel epitomises the essence of a 5-star hotel, delivering outstanding service and showcasing impressive management expertise. Locations: Conveniently accessible to all major and local transport. It is also within walking distance to some major attractions, and the night market. Room: spacious, large comfortable bed and pillow. Separate toilet, showers and bath. It has all the comforts you need. Restaurants: Be spoiled for choice. Every bite is amazing.

The breakfast was one of the best. The location was also excellent. However, the room was tiny and the lighting was too dim. We booked three standard rooms with two single beds each. Although the size was good enough, it wasn't easy to open two suitcases on the floor at the same time.

We disliked that the shower was built within the bathtub, especially when the bathtub was higher than our knees. It exposes the potential fall hazard when exiting the bathtub after a shower. One more piece of feedback I'd like to share: the mattresses were worn. The management should consider replacing them.

Great hotel in a very central location, next door to central station. If you are flying in no need for taxis, just get the metro and it drops you outside the hotel front door. Room was excellent and we particularly enjoyed the breakfast. Slightly disappointed the hotel did not have a bar to have a drink after a hot day sightseeing. Overall superb though.

Location, and view from our balcony room was nice to be able to step outside.

The pool is separate to the hotel, (5min walk) at a sports/gym place, with a lot of locals using it. Wasn’t really the type of pool that belonged to this style of hotel, as you couldn’t sit & laze like a resort, more for laps.

Everything about Palais de Chine was perfect. Very friendly and warm staffs, smooth check-in and check-out, breakfast was tasty and has lots of choices and location is right across the Taipei Main Station. Executive room was top tier as well, very clean, spacious, great housekeeping and has everything we need. They also gave us complimentary whole cake for my birthday which was a cherry on top.

The design of the hotel is everything very dark. We know a lot of people like it. We are retired seniors can’t see too well, this hotel is not as good a fit for us. But our daughter’s family had no issue with the dark design.

For a 5 star hotel, i was not overly impressed. Location was fantastic and it was easy to get to, easy access to public transport but no taxis or car drop off in front of the hotel. The view from our room was good and toilet was clean with a bidet. The decor of the hotel looks good with a dark theme.

The toilet and room was smaller then I expected and the room was slightly dusty due to carpet floors. Beds were very soft which i personally did not like and required firmer pillows, staff were very helpful with providing firm pillows. Rooms were dark and didn't have great lighting, but that's more of the theme.

Palais De Chine located next to Square Mall. Excellent and centrally located to Main Station, shops, dining and night markets.

What a stunning property from stained mirrors to the hand carved wooden horses to the lush carpets in their halls. Been such a pleasure to call this home for 5 days under the attentive care of Mike our concierge who told us to check out the best hidden local gem right around the corner for breakfast -Sihai. Thank you for making our honeymoon so special Mike and team. The hotel is very central and in a tremendously convenient location right in the same building with the bus station, q mall and Taipei Main Train station. The Airport line Literally stops you opposite the hotel although the navigation out of the Airport line is somewhat of a maze when you first arrive. Top Tip: Find the exit you want on the local train and follow the signboards right to your exit.

We like the location and the staff were great but for a 5 stars hotel, we expected a coffee machine in the room, offer of amenities even if they were not available in the rooms The room had only one night table and nothing on the other side. We would have liked to have a shower room separated We were very disappointing in tour so called 3 stars Michelin restaurant. One of the dishes we ordered was braised chicken and we were very surprised to get chicken with skin on it and bones and so little chicken. We have been to many Michelin restaurants and for 3 stars we expected something But overall we loved the hotel and the location

Great location, beautiful rooms, and a good price. The staff was incredibly helpful in recommending restaurants and calling ahead for reservations and to explain food allergies on our behalf.

The location is very good, beside a shopping mall, there are lots of eateries around this area.

They have a spacious bathtub, really big bed and the location is fantastic. Near a shopping mall, bus station and all the Train, Metro and HSR station! Nearby has ample food outlets and convenience stores.

This hotel is pure class from the moment you enter to the moment you leave. It oozes professionalism. The room was exquisite, and we could certainly not ask for more. Breakfast choices was amazing. All we can say is wow!!!!

Very central and the rooms are comfortable and well designed. The buffet breakfast is enormous and comprehensive - it’s a solid place to stay.

They have chosen a “European castle” decor theme which is a bit odd in the dining room - zero windows to the outside which is a bold choice and not very cheerful for breakfast. But doesn’t really matter if you’re going out and about!

I have stayed at many hotels. Palais de Chine Hotel Taipei was exceptional. It's 6 star service. Cyndie was fantastic. I was given a welcome fruit platter on arrival. She found out it was my birthday in 3 weeks time and arranged a small gift (decorated dessert platter) to my room during my stay and a takeaway breakfast because of my super early departure on my last day. Love the environmentally friendly glass water bottle use instead of the plastic bottles and sparkling water dispensing machine. The VIP executive lounge has great selection of beverage with relaxing area and classically decorated.

The hotel is in an excellent location - close to the metro/train/bus stations, close to shopping, and restaurants. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet one morning. It had a variety of options, both western and local cuisine. All the staff were so very friendly and helpful. I liked that they had an excellent bottle refilling station on each floor. They also provided us with instant coffee and tea, and bath salts.

The hotel is SOOO dark. Why do they have the lighting throughout the hotel (and I mean everywhere!) set so dim? While the AI cube in the room was a fun novelty, it was just that. A novelty that was frustrating to operate at times. The room is an open floor plan, meaning that the bathroom is open to the room. You do have a privacy curtain, you can pull to block off part of the bathroom, but it's definitely better suited to a couple and not a family with teens. The most annoying thing had to be the motion activated light over the sink (which could not be blocked by the curtain). Normally, that's a good thing for using the bathroom at night, but once the light is on, it doesn't turn off automatically. You have to do it manually. Remembering, while your half asleep, which switch turns it off or figure out how to use the AI box to turn it off, was not fun.
