We had a corner room facing the Market so it was a great view. I'd stay here again for location and service - both topnotch. Obviously the construction portion of the view wasn't great, but what can you do?!?

The room decor looks more like a travel lodge or motor hotel type-furniture - quite cheap considering the luxury price of the hotel. At the same time, the furniture is relatively new and does the trick. The bed has got a rise in the middle, and dips down on either side, but its really comfy.

Friendly staff

We experienced a water leakage in the bathroom of our initial room, and the hotel promptly moved us to a similar one, which we appreciated. However, in the new room, the shower water was extremely hot and difficult to adjust, making it uncomfortable to use. We hope this can be addressed to improve future guests’ experience

The rooftop view was fantastic. The staff was friendly and always helpful. Ryan at the front desk was very kind, helpful and friendly. The restaurant staff were all great. The linens were nice and white, towels thick and bedding was comfortable and very clean. Christophe and Andrew, valets were great. The breakfasts in the restaurant were really good, however I would suggest giving two slices of toast instead of one. Seems a little stingy with only one. It was a good hotel once we got used to things and got everything we needed.

We rarely saw housekeeping around. On our second day they never came to clean our room. I had asked for our towels to be changed daily, the bed usually gets made, and a little cleaning of the bathroom is what we expected. We did speak to the front desk about this. It was somewhat rectified. Only once did they come in the morning which is what we asked for as we were usually out for the day. They came a few times late afternoon which was when we were just back and wanted to shower again and rest before dinner. Therefore housekeeping needs to be improved. Also we had to ask for slippers, no robes in rooms which were shown on the website. It seemed we had to ask for a lot of items such as firm pillows, extra towels, face cloths, toilet paper, safety mat for the shower. The mattress was excellent, the pillows were way too soft for us. There was not enough storage space for clothes, only a few very shallow drawers. However the closet was large and we used the shelves. We had to put our luggage on the bench across the room and used them for some storage.The room and bathroom was much smaller then expected, however once we got used to things we were fine. I think it's a good hotel, they are lacking a concierge though which as a downtown hotel I feel this is important. Also we had to unload our own luggage and I would have expected more help in that area for a Hyatt. Room for improvement in the front lobby services. Also front desk area is very small, poorly designed. I feel all of these factors can be fixed and it would better match the Hyatt standard.

Hotel was in a great place for sightseeing. Helpful staff, made the nightmare of parking relatively stress free with their valet system. Rooftop bar great place for a drink and some light food, again staff very helpful. Room was comfortable and well equipped with what we needed for a one night stay.

I was a bit disappointed to see that I paid extra for a room with a view and it was not facing parliament hill like the photos as I expected. Rather it was facing the other way with just construction

Everything was great!

Loved the luxury feel to the room, loved the gym facility, love the location. Love the wine voucher. Staff was great and friendly . I’ll be coming back for another writing retreat.

It was a bummer finding stains on the mattress, but I appreciated that when I called front desk to report the possible hygiene, maybe Pest Control issue staff didn’t hesitate. Immediately switched our rooms to a different floor. Love the speedy response.

Location is really central and the hotel is very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful!! Mini bar snacks are included.

Location was great, lots of bars and restaurants in the market. The room was quite big. The rooftop was literally amazing.

The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful! Everything was clean and very comfortable. The location was perfect.

It’s not as luxurious as it may seem on photos. Restaurant didn’t work because of construction and low occupancy of the hotel.

The heating went off three nights in a row during winter in Ottawa minus 15 degrees minimum!!). Did not service my room three days in a row. Restaurant service limited.

Staff were very friendly upon checking in. Hotel offers a lot of complimentary things for guests which made us feel like they were very generous and caring towards us. We got upgraded to a nice spacious room and it was very clean.

The breakfast and the coffee was very good. The room was very clean and comfortable. A problem was that I was awakened at 7 am by construction. This was a day off for me during the Christmas season.

The room and the view was absolutely stunning. I normally stay in hotels that don't provide such a view even at higher floors. The aesthetics were modern and exceeded my expectations.

The couch was in need a of a clean. There were visible stains that would put any germaphobe into a spiral.

I was on the 11th floor in a corner room. The view was spectacular. I did not close the curtains and watched the sun rise amongst the city skyline in a very comfortable bed.

there was a neighboring construction site working from 7am to 7 pm. The hotel provided ear plugs but the noise started early. Since my meeting started at 8 I was out of the hotel early and was not exposed to this noise for very long.

The restaurant breakfast was very, very good - we loved it actually. There was construction nearby and the staff was very honest about what to expect and provided extras to compensate for the disturbance. It was very loud, but luckily we were already awake and ready to leave so it didn't affect us too much. Excellent location in byward market.

Location is great

The noise from the construction site right next to the hotel. The noise woke me up at 715, we stayed at level 6 on the side facing the construction site, the noise couldn’t be ignored at all. The staff informed us about the construction but it was very hard to stand. We packed up and checked out the moment we were waken.

Construction area was affecting the quality of the stay - noise, limited parking, no hot water after 11 pm. No garbage bags and no garbage pickup from room during the 3 day stay; complacent staff tolerating heavy smoking in rooms; 48$ plus tip for valet parking to have just have someone look at you while you unload your car

My daughter left her sunglasses in the room and when we called to ask if they had been found we were told that they had not been found. So they were stolen by a staff member! Not happy!

We loved being able to bring our dogs and how close it was to both the ByWard market and parliment! The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean and comfortable.

Parking was a bit confusing we knew that we wanted to Valet but didn’t know we could pull out front and park until valet was ready to take our vehicle. Their QR code for the vehicle retrieval also didn’t work for us but no worries we were able to get help in the lobby. Construction was going on directly beside the hotel and we could hear it pretty early. Obviously nothing the hotel can do about it but just something to take note of if you’re traveling with young ones or are hoping to sleep in.

The property was fine unfortunately it is located in a bad part of town. Just behind the building were the street were the homeless coming around begging. Very unpleasant

Room phone not working. One chair in the room two would have been better. Grooming products were inferior quality. Touting snacks and water in room did not happen. I went to front desk myself to get them. No hooks in bathroom to hang towels/clothing.

Big room, great shower, fab location

The area is bustling and we always found something to do within walking distance! Rooftop lounge was stellar especially during sunset, a must visit for sure.

No Parking - we did figure out parking eventually but it needs to be addressed.

The front desk staff was excellent. Highest marks ever.

The food is terrible and the menu doesn’t reflect what you are served. If it wasn’t for the really bad food, this place would earn much higher marks.

Great location for all a traveller needs.
