Quite an aesthetic looking hotel design. The beds are super comfortable. The restaurant is very good, serving Malay fusion food. Room price is also very attractive. Onsite parking is open air, but next to the hotel

There is no swimming pool and limited facilities. The rooms are a bit small and can feel a bit claustrophobic. The hotel is in the city, but on the fringe, so it will be a bit of a walk to KLCC

'All day' Happy hour prices were not applied to our drinks bill

Nice, well maintained boutique hotel. Good F&B staff, very friendly and attentive.

Room too dark. No bidet in the bathroom, which is strange for a modern, small luxury hotel. The long mirror was on the wall right next to the bed with very tight space and defeats the purpose for its use.

The location is strategic but there was no clear indication where is the parking area, I went to the dropped off area instead and had to make a round circle around Jalan Raja Laut/ Jalan TAR to go back to the hotel. Advise to the management: please put a proper signage from Jalan Sultan Ismail/FGV so drivers know that they have to take the 1st left to go into the parking lot (instead of the 2nd left which is the dropped off area). There is no coffee or tea provided in the room.

Tastefully decorated and the bed was comfortable. Food at the restaurant was exceptional. The location was strategic with the LRT and Monorail within short walking distance. Staff were friendly and attentive.

The music in the elevator is a bit loud but the selection of music was good. A bidet in the toilet would be nice.

The room decoration was good but the aircond didnt work well. Show the aircond set at temp 18 degree at but still feel hot. Ask help from the staff then actually the room was 27 degree. 🥲 The digital meter was incorrect and unable to setting

The view from our room was great. Decor in the hotel beautiful. Friendly reception staff.

Aircon wasn’t the best . Breakfast as nice but arrived at different times - my husband had finished his and mine was still to come.

Great location in KL: close to two monorail lines and covered walkways above the busy roads. This area has changed a lot in the last few years and there are quite a few upmarket restaurants nearby as well as a couple of shopping malls with good food courts. The Chow Kit is a small but very well run hotel with stylish interiors and very efficient, friendly staff. We were lucky enough to get a great view over the city from our room and enjoyed watching the monorail traffic! Good soundproofing so there was no noise from the busy surrounding streets. Free filtered water dispensers on each floor.

We really missed not having any tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Also found the lighting in the bathroom a bit dim.

Very clean and comfortable room in an elegant, historic hotel. We reserved one of the less expensive rooms with twin beds, which was fine if you don't mind a window with opaque glass facing an interior light well. The food and drinks at their restaurant were very good, as well.

Not a big deal for us, but the cheaper rooms don't have windows with views. The windows are opaque and face a light well.

its close to monorail station they have good coffee its close to Quill shopping mall the room i had was very quiet which i really like shower was good could be more tv channels ie movie channels

It’s a bit dim at night especially the lift lobby ….the staircase beside the lift lobby is dark. The water dispenser flow strength is slow. The room is a bit small for the price .

Love the interior, their bath amenities smelled great! and the bed was comfyyy. Please dine at the hotel, food is wonderful!

Small room, no bidet and no wardrobe

2nd time staying here. The room was not that big but can fit the 3 of us without extra bed because no space but we make do by sleeping at the sofa and we needed extra pillow, blanket and towel for my daughter. Everything was in working condition. Breakfast was great. The ambience.

Although the boutique hotel has won many awards, still the room was lacking kettle, complimentary coffee tea and utensils. We need to request all that but still NO tea coffee..ONLY drinking water..the price was expensive and lacking basic amenities as a hotel. Please improve.

I like the feel of the hotel and interior

It’s so close to Monorail (Medan Tuanku), shopping mall (Quill City Mall), and other attractions. The staff is friendly and helpful. We’re quite lucky to have an upgraded room as the room that we supposed to stay, the aircond wasn’t cold. The room is clean as well. Even though you need to pay RM15 for the parking, but you can validate it and can go in and out as many times as you want for the whole stay and we could go around KL.

The lightings are so romantic. But i guess that’s how the hotel was designed. The music in the lift is so loud. Don’t get it why it needs to be that loud. I think, if the breakfast is buffet style, it’d be better.

The hotel restaurant has AMAZING food. I liked the curtains in the room, was really good at blocking out light and despite it being next to two main roads you don't hear any sound cause of the double windows. Also great pillows!

The bedsheet situation wasn't my favourite and the bathroom was a little annoying. No shower door so water gets everywhere.

Always a pleasure to stay at this hotel.

Some parts of the room are too dark. Bed was sunken. Breakfast coffee or tea is not refillable and is charged for every extra cup.

Loved every moment. Super boutique hotel. Almost too good to want to go out. Really comfy bed, slept well and loved the lounge area to have coffee in the morning. You feel relaxed just walking in the door. Great design, they truly understand a travellers needs. Ticked all the boxes.

It’s not a criticism- more a request- I stayed 4 nights and ate dinner each night in the restaurant- I’m a vegetarian I like to eat healthy food. I felt the menu catered more for fine dining - quite a lot was deep fried. I’d like to see some simple healthy food, home cooking style, and vegetarian options included for guests eating in. I did eat the salad which was fantastic.

Big airy room and friendly staff

On a very main road. Room had nowhere to store clothes and bathroom had very little shelf space - not enough for two people. Also description of view was embellished.

I recently stayed at the Chow Kit for 3 nights with my girlfriend. I picked the hotel because I wanted to make it a special occasion for us and booked the very large Tokay Soh Suite. Because of the price for this room and previous reviews I had very high expectations for the hotel, all were met. The hotel is small and simple but it is very elegant and the details of the design were immaculate and charming. The room was extremely large by South East Asian standards. The view from the floor to ceiling windows was spectacular and the bed and linens were exceptionally comfortable. Everyone working at this property was very attentive and friendly, especially the doorman. But I did want to highlight one person who really stood out. There was a gentleman in the restaurant named Edward (I’m writing this review after a few weeks so I hope I am not mistaken about his name) and he was one of the highlights of our stay. This man is an exceptional host and was wonderful to converse with. I hope that the hotel does everything they can to retain him with their company and let him grow in their business. You can stay at many fancy places and receive great service at par for the price but he really stood out in just how genuinely friendly and hospitable he was. The bartender also makes a fine cappuccino and the kitchen staff prepared and presented everything very nicely. I would absolutely recommend The Chow Kit to anyone visiting KL under similar circumstances.

My only critique would be that the rooms do not have a bum gun or tea kettle and these items are very standard in Asia.

Restaurant

Everything about the Ormond is wonderful. The breakfast, the staff, the room.

I had no water for half day on my second day. The staff apologized but it still did ruin the experience a bit. Not to mention the water was brown even when it normalized.
