voco Grand Central, Glasgow

As we arrived into Glasgow by train, it was a short stroll from the platform of Central station to the front door of the hotel. It made our arrival super easy and relaxing! The hotel is situated in the perfect place to explore the best that Glasgow has to offer. It's a beautiful hotel and as a lover of champagne, it's the perfect place to stay!

Great big room, everywhere was very clean.

AC wasn’t great and it was an unusually warm day so it was a bit uncomfortable in the room at night.

It doesn’t get more central than the voco grand central. Great rooms from the smaller to the larger ones.

Soundproofing on the windows could be improved

The staff were all friendly and professional but Ruby was absolutely exceptional; I'd forgotten that hospitatility could be that good, to be honest. The teddy bear with the dressing gown which she gave my daughter is now sitting pride of place in her bed at home and the hand written note telling her to enjoy the biscuits is tucked safely in to it. Unashamedly a frequent user of Radisson Blu, I've warmed considerably to the Central and it would probably be my first choice now.

I'm never going to be a fan of the somewhat complicated route to the breakfast area and tend not to have breakfast there.

Lovely old hotel with plenty of character and d so many famous people had stayed in the past. Love being in the station and very handy if it’s raining while you’re travelling to or from the hotel by train.

The NCP car park recommended by the hotel was a nightmare to get into as cars coming out of the car park have to join the same lane as cars entering the car park or going past the car park due to bus gates.

Location. Loved sitting in the Champagne Room looking out into the train station and people watching. Great staff! Also loved the breakfast and the setting for breakfast.

Parking was not as easy as we would have liked. We were able to park and cut through the train station yet it was a a bit difficult to find the parking. The streets were quite busy and we could not see the parking sign so we parked where we could, walked a while without luggage then moved the car after check in to the proper car park.

This hotel is literally connected to the main train station in Glasgow. It's also a short walk to the Queen St. Station. It is very central to downtown Glasgow and easy walk to everything including shops, restaurants, famous and historical sights. Full breakfast is great. Hotel staff is excellent and very nice and friendly. Rooms are beautiful and well appointed. We booked this for two nights before the two nights that started our tour and were very happy with our stay. Americans: Use the hairdryer provided by the hotel. Even with a converter our American hairdryers can short out and die. Or check to see if you have a 240 button on your hairdryer.

Unbeatable location right inside Central Station. Big room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast.

Inadequate elevators. Long walk downstairs to breakfast room. Lacks a proper bar (“Champagne Central” totally lacking in charm). Hotel shows its age.

Fabulous location - just walked off the train and into the hotel. Room large with high ceiling and very comfortable bed.

Beautiful interior, very comfortable bed and nice decor. We booked a suite and it was great. Very large room and bathroom. The location is very central literally over and connected to the central train station with direct access to the platform.

If you are travelling by train this Hotel is in a marvelous position. Facilities are great , staff are pleasant and well trained. Thankyou- have always used this Hotel to break the journey of travelling Westwards or further to the North of Scotland.

We travel to Glasgow 3/4 times a year and I normally drive aand stay at the Burnside hotel beccause of the ease of parking. This time we travelled by train so booked into your hotel. Fabulous is the only word we can use to describe your hotel the renovatuions and upgrades have enhanched the hotel even further The room had everything we needed and the decor was beautiful The staff were so helpfull and a big thhank you to Mark your concierge who was especially helpfull. We only had breakfast on the Saturday and it was excellent and good value. The hotel is Central to everywhere you want to go and transport links are on your doorstep.

The breakfast was outstanding, I was a bit dubious about what it would be like since I didn't get to breakfast until 10.30. The food was very tasty, not dry at all and excellent choices.

The concierge was helpful - when he was there. Too often he was elsewhere & we had to wait. Similarly too few staff in Champagne bar.

Wow, Glasgow…. This was the perfect location. It was clean, old world feel, modern amenities. Wonderful.

Absolute prime location if you are traveling by train. Beautiful converted historical building. Buffet breakfast was good, staff very helpful.

The bathroom was a bit cramped.

Staff was very friendly and helpful (especially Concierge Mark). They were able to store our luggage while we explored town before our check in time. Room was really spacious, comfortable and quiet. Bathroom had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. We appreciated the carafe of water waiting for us when we arrived.

Lighting in bathroom wasn't great. We wanted to try out the bar, but it was very crowded. Water in the lobby was a nice touch -- would've been nice if there was coffee in the lobby in the AM.

The breakfast is fantastic, love staying here in Glasgow. The staff were superb and friendly.
