Minos Beach Art Hotel, Crete

We loved this whole resort. From the different restaurants, to the cute little 'islands' with two loungers jutting out into the sea - making for a romantic and secluded place for couples to lie out for the day, to our room upgrade, to the friendly staff. This place is wonderful. Just stay here.

The bungalows weren't changed much from the 1960s in the sense that most don't really have windows (aside from the window on the door), and therefore can feel quite dark. Just keep this in mind when choosing your room type.

The setting and design is beautiful

It felt a little quiet at times, there were some fantastic live music acts at night but perhaps they could have created a little more atmosphere during the day

Superb hotel . It had a very peaceful atmosphere with lovely well maintained gardens . The staff were great , especially housekeeping who excelled … great choice at breakfast . Location was good , an easy walk into town nearby . A few local bars and tavernas within a few minutes . walk . We’d definitely come back again .

Pool service to be more attentive, I was by the pool for hours and not one person asked if I needed anything, you had to go to the bar. They had staff but I guess they didn’t offer that?

As start of season team just had to get used to new season so some rather ordinary questions could yet not answered immediately. But their kindness and charm always made up for it

The territory of the hotel is big, beautiful and well maintained, most of the room facing seaside at the same time feels private.

The hotel is absolutely stunning. The private beaches are gorgeous. The food is delicious. Housekeeping impeccable.

Best breakfast buffet I have ever seen. Private beach areas outstanding. Gardens lush and beautiful. Waiting staff lovely attitude. Spa was lovely and the massages and facials I had there were first rate. Super comfortable bed and very good quality toiletries. Cleaners very attentive. Serene feel to the whole place. Highly recommend

We arrived late evening after dark and the receptionist was rather curt and rushed. She sped through the app and the rather complicated tech for lighting, audio etc. No tour was offered to orientate us so we missed many opportunities eg a fabulous lounge we discovered as we were leaving. She was the only member of staff who fell short however.

Fantastic hotel, great breakfast, rooms were amazing. Very tranquil setting and just what we needed. Kids used tennis court every day. Would go there again.

My daughter and I loved the location. Every suite is located just moments from the sea. The gardens are beautiful and we loved the modern sculptures dotted around. We liked the boho modern decor.

Some of the staff members in the reception were not friendly and without minimal hospitality skills. The spa facilities are extra charge which is unfortunate giving we paid good money for the hotel

The grounds are absolutely stunning, great care has been taken on them and you feel like you’re in an oasis of calm. The staff are incredibly friendly, all restaurants are excellent and though it’s a big place it doesn’t feel like a big resort at all, there’s always space by the pool or beach and it felt very romantic. It far exceeded our expectations and we had seven days of delicious food, crystal waters and total peace

Very little that I didn’t like. Only suggestions would be that the pool area could be a little prettier and cozier, maybe some of the ceramics from the beach would look nice up there and this comes down to taste… but the dinosaur art by the pool didn’t really do it for me! These are minor things though, it’s very hard to fault this hotel

There was some miscommunication on our taxi transport and had to do some coordination that we had already done prior to our trip.

This is the best hotel in the whole Greece 😀. There is very polite, friendly and helpful staff. Excelent food, drinks and service. We stayed inside of the beautiful garden on the calm beach. The sea is like a smaragd.

We had the pleasure of staying at Minos Beach Art Hotel for a relaxing weekend, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we had stepped into paradise. The hotel itself is beautifully spread across a large area, offering various accommodation options. Based on the glowing reviews, we opted for a bungalow right on the water, and it was the best decision we made. The bungalow was recently renovated, featuring elegant, modern decor and all the comforts we could ask for. The veranda right by the water provided breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere – truly a dream spot to unwind and connect with nature. Walking around the hotel, we enjoyed exploring the lush flora and the impressive art installations that added a unique cultural touch to the entire experience. We also had the pleasure of dining at La Bouillabaisse Restaurant during one of their special Invited Chefs & Friends event. The food was beyond incredible – every dish was a masterpiece, and the service was impeccable. A perfect 10/10 in every way. Thank you to the wonderful team at Minos Beach Art Hotel and the General Manager for his special attention. We can't wait to return!

Almost everything! We especially valued the ample space on the beautiful hotel grounds. It is never crammed with people and there is lot of privacy for each guest. The personnel is absolutely great, exceptionally friendly (in a natural way), forthcoming and competent. The breakfast buffet was the best ever! You can also clearly see the difference from not being part of a hotel chain.

Only the bathroom in our room (in the main building) soon needs a renovation, but everything was working.

There was a some difficulty with finding sun beds had to go out very early to reserve them.

Food options are limited. Similar menus in restaurants. Almost no food option for kids. Beach and lunch menus are quite similar to dinner menus which are on the edge of fine dining.

This is a great hotel in a great location. The staff were all amazing and couldn't do enough for us. The standards are very high throughout but the food and staff at the Bouillabaisse restaurant were just stand out.

Our room was quite a way from the main building and it was a long walk in the heat. They did offer to collect us in a buggy if we wanted though.

Everything, the environment, the happy and helpful staff and pleasant maids, the comfortable bed and pillows, and something that we really loved is that there is always sun beds near the sea all day and every day of our stay.

The bungalows are small and closet space wasn’t enough for couples who pack a lot of clothes like us.

Great location with beautiful views on the waterfront. Good breakfast with plenty of choice, provided us a take away breakfast box on our departure day due to leaving earlier than breakfast start time. Staff polite and attentive.

Advertised as "bungalow" but on arrival was a bit surprised that each room is actually just part of a bungalow e.g. 1 bungalow split into 3 suites, which made the room quite small. On reflection this can be seen albeit subtly in the advertised photos. Fridge wasn't too cold and annoying to keep having to ask for an iron as one is not provided in room.

It felt like being in Paradise; everything is impeccable, from the rooms to the food to the very friendly and flexible staff.The breakfast was excellent and also the lunch at Terpsis. We will certainly be back!

Location is good, easy walk to Ag Nik, the room itself was great, the housekeeping staff are fabulous 11/10 … breakfast buffet is great, onsite restaurants are great if a little expensive, the grounds are fabulous….i suppose it is what you expect at this price range …. Most of the staff were great 👍 the swimming was great …..

The image on the booking.com website doesn’t show the actual layout, there is a big “dogleg” which isn’t shown and u can find yourself 500m from breakfast …. We were fine with it but when u are booking, if u don’t book a front villa u find yourself kinda 2nd class as u can’t access the sea or sub beds so u have to use the small beaches …. It wasn’t.a big deal but it should be clear when booking ….

Absolutely everything! Especially the design of the spaces d how it feels like a boutique property but is actually huge and has every amenity you could wish for. The multiple restaurants and beaches meant we hardly left the hotel in the 6 days we were there. Special shout out to the most incredible breakfast buffet and all of the staff who went above and beyond to make our stay simply perfect.

Superb location with a nice room, a lovely private beach (i.e. shared only by guests of the hotel). And you can get drinks / food delivered to your seat by the beach. Overall lovely stay and very relaxing.

A bit on the pricy side.

- Great location (2 private beaches and a 10 minute walk into town) - Very friendly staff (special mention to Alexandros at the main bar who is very attentive/remembers 5* details) - Breakfast selection is very good - We stayed in a sea view bungalow which was very modern and great for us.

- Paying for water on the beach/lunch isn’t in line with 5* hotels (€3.50 for a small carton) and cocktails are mostly ice in small glasses. - Restaurant menus could be improved as not the easiest to follow and pricing pretty high. Most restaurants in town are of similar quality and 1/3 of the cost (The taverna night at the hotel is very good however) - Gym is an afterthought as others have mentioned

Absolutely fantastic breakfast. Amazing thought to minor details. Staff very kind to both young and old or anybody needing any help. The staff are very well trained. Lots of local food and wine. Very little waste and thoughts concerning the environment. Wonderful place.

Shame that the pool was too cold to swim in but can understand that it is not worth heating for the few weeks that are needed.

Beautifully designed, it never feels like being in a large hotel. The bungalows are scattered across the garden up to the seafront. A lot of places to stay by the beach or the pool, but as always the best spots are to be taken early on! We had booked a bungalow with sea view and got an upgrade with a private pool. The room was very comfortable. The food is delicious, starting with breakfast that has a nice mix of Cretan and continental food, to dinner where we ate all 4 evening at Adeste restaurant: quiet and village-like feel.

The beds were maybe a bit too soft to our liking. A few more hooks would be handy to hang towels and clothes.

It is absolutely paradise, the staff exceptional and the experience, breathtaking.

The hotel was a tranquil retreat in gorgeous seaside setting. We felt pampered! The food was delicious, the staff welcoming, and the accommodations were superb.

The gym was an afterthought when designing the resort. But the pool was gorgeous, the beach outstanding, and it was easy to walk to town for exercise.
