The host was so lovely and the location is perfect for exploring old town. The breakfast was enjoyable and varied.

The alleyways in the area are all thoroughfares, therefore they get a bit noisy at night.

Since it's in the Old Town, the room and bathroom were not enormous, but there is a beautiful terrace available right outside your door.

All the warmth and hospitality that you feel everywhere inside the hotel has made us fall in love with this place! amazing architecture of the building that was preserved in a very elegant and respectful way creates a cozy atmosphere in the garden where delicious breakfast is served. Rooms are quite small but fit a huge king size bed and everything that you might need like a tea coffee station, luggage rack and sufficient wardrobe.

The shower cabin was a bit small. The bed mattress was a bit too soft for our backs, but I really appreciated the mattress topper that gave a cloud like feel.

The location is in the middle of the old town, which is great for people who like walking around and shopping in the old town. The staff was great, helpful, and friendly. The breakfast was abundant and delicious.

The staff at this small, family run hotel were beyond helpful. They let me into the room in the middle of the night when I had left the key inside. Breakfast was delicious. Location is super central. Chania is ridiculously charming. I will be back!

Well situated for access to the old town harbour. Delightful small hotel with excellent breakfast outside on the enclosed patio. Small terrace on second floor for relaxation after busy days. Warm and friendly greeting from reception staff. Family owned and run.

This was our highlight of our trip to Crete. If anyone looking for accommodation in Chania, BOOK HERE. Your hosts Sofianna and Eva are so nice, rooms are beautiful, breakfast is amazing, location is in such a nice little quiet pocket, with the shortest walk into the port. Everything about Ionas is simply the best ❤️

We loved our stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helped us book an airport transfer and an onward bus. It’s a lovely building in a quiet street and the breakfast in the garden courtyard was delicious. Ideal location to explore old town Chania. Would highly recommend.

This is a beautiful hotel. A top level restoration of a medieval building that had been a family home for over 100 years. The descendants of this same family personally run this hotel like a B&B. Also, the breakfast is outstanding. Great location and quiet. We loved our 4 days in this hotel.

Very lovely family run hotel which appears to have been consistently excellent for decades.

There can occasionally be some noise from the cafe up the road, but there is effective double glazing and it’s somewhat the price you pay for the historic city centre location.

Loved the hotel great position great restaurants just outside. Easy walk to Old Port. Breakfast was fantastic.

The hotel was perfect. Beautiful house, right in the middle of old town. Recommend the breakfast each day. Very good value for money and varied and authentic Greek. Staff were amazing. Gave recommendations, helped with transport planning, always happy to chat.

Wonderful location , wonderful staff. Family owned and it showed . The property is modern and built to a high standard. I cannot comment on the breakfast as we did not take that option.

It is a beautiful family run hotel. Lovingly restored & maintained. The owner was a delight as was her adorable puppy. Our room was upgraded on arrival which was a nice surprise. Try the fabulous Turkish restaurant next door was the best meal of our stay.

I am so grateful we were able to find and book Ionas Hotel! The whole experience was just absolutely perfect, mainly thanks to the lovely staff who ensured we were well fed, slept on the comfiest beds and always recommended amazing things to do around. The hotel and the rooms are very charming, freshly renovated and at the heart of Chania - we were able to go just anywhere! I already miss this vacation and I'm hoping we can come back yet again to experience that wonderful breakfast in the garden.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We are a family of 4. We had a room with a king bed on the main floor and 2 twin beds in a loft space which gave us lots of space. The location was perfect, in the old city down a quiet lane. We had a delicious multi-course breakfast every morning in the courtyard under a beautiful bougainvillea tree and then spent the day exploring the old city. We couldn't have asked for a better stay.

We had a great night's stay at Ionas. The family room is very spacious, clean and we'll equipped. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was very sumptuous. The hotel is ideally located to explore the nearby lighthouse and other tourist site in Chania.

Good location. Clean place. it was nice

No option for tea/coffee in the room or in the lobby. Lobby was very hot. somehow air condition never was on. In such a small place especially when traveling alone (but not only) there should be a place to talk to other quests and maybe have some recommendations.

It was a one weekend stay. The room was nice and the little balcony was amazing to relax on in the evening. One night at 1 am our keycard to your room didn't work. Luckily we were able to contact the staff remotely, a very nice man came and sorted everything out for us, despite the late hours. On our last stay we want to stay in Chania for awhile after checkout hours. We were able to have our luggage stored in the lobby and we then got a key card for the front door so we could pick up our luggage and leave whenever we preferred.

Unusual noisy air conditioning

Location was excellent and all the pretty, and picturesque streets, restaurants and bars were around. Staff were very helpful and smiley and when I needed them, their response was immediate.

One small comment / feedback... I arrived very late as my flight was the latest one from Athens and there was no drinkable water in the room. It would have been nice to have either a complimentary bottle of still water or even an option in the fridge to pay. There was a bottle of water on the bedside table which was refilled the next day as well but it wasn't drinkable at all - not sure where this was filled from but the taste was very odd so a bit questionable. Everything else was excellent so this is mainly a comment for the hotel to use constructively :)
