Great location

Awesome breakfast buffet and free flowing coffee, available anytime of the day! It is located in the city center and is walking distance to the national museum and train station, so many restaurants nearby, and close to the river as well. Room is clean! Would recommend to others!

It was an unfortunate that during our stay, the street where the hotel is located is being repaired that caused a bit of a noise. This also prohibited taxis from going into the hotel so we had to walk a bit with our luggage.

The hotel is situated in the old town of Zurich, within easy reach of interesting specialist shops and many good restaurants. The hotel is very old, at least 600 years, but it has been well modernised. The reception staff are friendly and helpful.

Some of the rooms seem quite small. We were lucky to get an historic room on the top floor which was a bit larger. The floors seem to slope a lot, but that is understandable in a property of this age. It would be difficult to come by car to this hotel, you would have to park some way away, as it is in a pedestrianised zone.

Location is great. In the historical center, with a lot of restaurants to eat nearby and all the attractions. Only a few minutes away from the main station.

Everything was good. Breakfast was expensive, but lots of places to have it nearby.

Great location. One block from the river, a ten minute walk to Zurich lake, very well taken care of building.

There was no mini fridge in the room, which I’ve had before even in hotels with rooms that were also very small.

Centrally located to explore the beautiful Zurich Old Town, close to both the opera, restaurants, shops, cathedral and even the main railway station! If you are not a fan of walking the hills around Zurich, the No. 4 tram is practically on the doorstep and is the gateway to exploring farther afield as well as vertically. The room I had didn't have tea/coffee making facilities, but in a lovely touch, fresh spring water was available on each floor and tea/coffee from Reception any time. All of the staff, including housekeeping, could not have been more welcoming, friendly, and attentive to any needs at any time. Exceptional customer service ethos. The rooms themselves all seem to have some unique features given the historic nature of the hotel, but are well equipped and modern, with a lift to all floors as well as a gloriously winding and modern central staircase. Fabulous air-conditioning too!

There was nothing I found to dislike, and will certainly be returning again now that I've found this gem.

The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. We were kindly upgraded for free and got a beautiful historic room. The soundproofing is excellent, and the room is spacious and very comfortable. There’s also a magical restaurant downstairs with two Michelin stars – an unforgettable experience!

The only downside for me was that the mattresses were a bit too soft for my taste.

I was surprised by quality and comfort of the hotel. It is worth all money and even more I have spent. Personal is very friendly and helpful. Room was big with comfortable bed. I like to sleep with open window and it was absolutely quiet outside, no noise from bars or street cleaning. Fantastic hotel!

Exceptional service and amenities. Staff are stellar and assist any request with a smile. Comfy beds, quiet rooms and lovely shower. Perfect location with many restaraunts nearby. Breakfast is fantastic.

I arrived and the reception staff was so very kind! Even received a nice complimentary drink if you know what I mean 😉. Anyway got to my room at the very top floor. It was cute! If your tall sorry you may have to duck around but it was CLEAN, quaint and had a homey feeling. There wasn’t a minibar but I went downstairs to ask for ice and they were super nice and brought me some. Overall I would say I felt comfortable and safe. I got a great nights sleep and I would stay again.

This isn’t a negative just something to be aware of. You may need an adapter to plug your phone in to charge if your from the US. BUT they do lend out adapters for a deposit if you forget!

A very nice, spacious, sparkling clean room and bath. Staff was terrific and the location was perfect (although not immediately accessible by car.)

The step into the tub/shower is a little steep and might be a little challenging for some.

Gorgeous rooms, comfortable beds, wonderful location, staff were super accommodating and gave us connecting rooms for our family.

Location…. The courtyard rooms are very noisy on weekends especially in the summer.

Great location with good Michelin rated restaurant. Good place to be in to wander around old town, shop and eat. Reception staff are helpful and friendly.

Room is a bit small so no space for the usual amenities like coffee and tea in the room. We had an armchair with torn cover, towel that looked like a piece of rag, and stained curtains in the toilet, which were not quite reflective the price paid.

So friendly! Great staff! Quick and efficient! We were in 302 and it was HUGE (2 bathroom) with heated floors very quiet Great coffee Delivered extra pillows and ice Bathrooms were big and private Great showers and huge vanity EXCELLENT location!

Extremely LOW ceiling in my room and a steep slant of the floor! Always felt like I was going down hill to bathroom and room door and uphill to bed!

The noise in the inner courtyard rooms can be quite overwhelming at times, especially weekend nights.

We had a historic room with a rooftop patio which was awesome.

There was a big convention at the same time and they all stood outside the front door smoking and drinking and I think the bar was closed for that event but not disclosed.

Breakfast is very good. Hotel's location is the best... near to everything... staff is very kind and nice. I would stay here again without any doubt.

An absolutely amazing, beautiful place in the heart of Zurich. It's a historic building, but inside, it's a stylish hotel. We were greeted very warmly, been congratulated on our anniversary, and were given a charming room, exactly what I wanted. The staff was very friendly and very professional. I can't wait to return to this hotel! Thank you for your hospitality!

Perfect location. Excellent reception staff, very curtious. Spotless room with immaculate linen and bedding. Two Michelin Star restaurant on ground floor, delicious food. and good value. Lively Italian barman.

Internet is inconsistent and drops out frequently.

Luxury in a charming old building which is wonderfully retrofitted with all modern conveniences. Staff was excellent and warm. Room was beautiful and spacious.

Loved the location. The staff were very nice and very helpful. Breakfast was just what we needed:yogurt, coffee, eggs, fruit, delicious breads and cheeses. Shower was hot.

Our room had a perfect view of the clock tower of St Peter’s Church. We also had a private roof top deck in the Historic Room that had amazing views. The location was perfect for walking to restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing. I would definitely stay here again!

I loved everything but a caution for anyone over six feet. You will have to be careful of the ceilings in some of the areas of the Historic Room. It’s has a slanted ceiling.

Nice one person room, had everything it needed. Location downtown is great. Staff was fantastic, I was helped by an intern, and she did a great job: helpful, accurate and friendly. When I had left I apparently had left a charging cable behind. I got a message about it, in case I wanted it back. Very Swiss ;-) Will go back there for sure!

The hotel was very nice and the location was perfect! They greet you with a beverage of your choice, and there's a nice coffee machine at the reception. The bed was very comfortable and quiet.

Fantastic location! We were in the heart of the old town with access to a lot of the city's highlights but rooms were nice and quiet. Our room was spacious and minimalist, spotlessly clean. I quite liked the separate toilet and bathroom arrangement, useful for sisters both trying to get ready in the morning :o).

Honestly, nothing much comes to mind at all. It was a great hotel.

Marktgasse is in an old, historic part of town, with narrow windy hilly roads that are filled with pedestrians. There are a lot of shops and restaurants in this area, and it's within walking distance to the Kunsthaus. The single room which I stayed in was adorable - slanting wooden floors, somewhat small, and the desk is behind the bed which is facing the window. Everything was perfectly designed and comfortable. The bed was fantastic. The breakfast was in the 'Delish' cafe downstairs - if you paid for breakfast then they just checked you off the list. It was great.

The single room (with a double bed) would have been a tight fit with two people. But for a solo traveler it's great.

Absolutely in the middle of the Old town pedestrian area. Really stylish and very friendly.

The hotel is in a fantastic location. All the members of staff I encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. I had booked a room aware that it might be small, but it was actually bigger than expected, with a very comfortable bed.

It is on the expensive side, including breakfast at 24 CHF, but everything else in Zurich is quite pricey as well, to be honest.

Simple checkin , very friendly and helpful staff , great rooms and facilities, handy location in old town and close to train station , restaurants and things to see . The coffee bar is a great feature !

The only negative was the quality and availability of the breakfast offering - this was completely unacceptable for the 24 euro charge and frankly the worst of our 6 weeks travelling through Europe ! The hotel representative kindly refunded our first mornings cost and was going to raise this with the attached cafe as this reflected badly on the hotel !
