Rooms where quite small, just one shower/toilet for one floor.

On a scale of 1-10, I give EastSeven a 12! The staff is fantastic. The cleanliness is amazing. The location is excellent. I ate breakfast every morning at Impala, where the staff, food, and atmosphere are wonderful. The Americano coffee is excellent! Twice during my five-night stay, I ate at the Vietnamese restaurant, Lua, also 300 feet from the hostel. Excellent food. There is a bus stop 700 feet from the hostel, but a nice walk will take one to the Central Train station, which is a huge public transportation nexus. EastSeven should be your choice for a Berlin stay if you need a low-cost accommodation.

Good location. 10 min from centre on bus. Reasonably priced. Cornflakes/tea/coffee were included for breakfast😜

Shower toiletries were empty. I’d install paper towel next to bathroom sinks otherwise you have to take your towel with you for washing your face or anything else

I loved this hostel! It was clean, very updated and had a great atmosphere. The beds were far enough apart that it didn’t feel crowded. The free morning coffee was nice as well. Also, they were very accommodating and moved me to a lower bunk as I injured my knee before my trip. All in all a wonderful stay!

The only downside was one of the other hostel guests snored all night & was making lots of noise at odd hours, shining lights, crunching chips, etc. But this is of course not the fault of the hostel :)

Everything was amazing! The staff is super friendly and helpful. There are fun activities happening every day, and plenty of spaces to just relax or hang out with others. Lots of clean, well-maintained bathrooms. The showers are perfect. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, and the location is excellent.

Perfect location in Berlin, safe and close to many restaurants and cafe. Hostel is friendly, super clean and comfortable. I had a great time and I would definitely consider it again for my next trip!

I would only recommend considering adding even a super small desk in the room.

Staff and guests were friendly and welcoming, great amenities, clean and modern space. Convenient location and hostel gave heaps of great recommendations and opportunities to socialise.

Very nice hostel with lovely people working there.

No air conditioning which was hard during the summer. Besides that everything was great.

I think it was the most social hostel I’ve ever stayed in. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The common areas the lounge, kitchen, garden, and relaxing zone make you feel right at home. Every evening they organize different activities, and if you have time, I’d highly recommend joining them. If you come to this hostel, there’s a high chance you’ll want to stay longer , so plan to take a few extra days if you can!

The room I stayed in was quite small for four people, and there was no chair or place to sit

Rooms of 4 are spacious. The area is calm. Staff is kind.

One of the best hostels I have stayed at. Staff were amazing and they let us relax at the property after check out since our flight out of Berlin was later that day.

Really great hostel overall - has both the social side of things, but there’s also quiet down time. Multiple common areas for cooking, eating, hanging out, both indoor and outdoor. The staff are really great too!

Staff

The staff was super friendly and international. The whole atmosphere and the living room and little garden was so cozy. If you want to connect with other people it’s pretty easy with the WhatsApp group. The bathrooms looked a tad old but the water pressure and heat of the shower was really great. There was a women only bathroom. I don’t know if it was a coincidence but there were quite a few seniors (60+) staying and it was not the typical “only 18 year old backpacker vibe” you sometimes have. I within my 30s was somewhere in the middle.

Sometimes it was a little loud in the nighttime (just groups of people laughing and talking) but by 12 it was mostly quiet.

Room was clean and light with good locable storage

Lack of privacy curtains on the beds made it hard to block out light when my two nocturnal roommates would arrive at midnight to start getting ready to go out.

Super social hostel with group get togethers planned everyday so that you can meet other travellers and experience the real Berlin. Staff were always super helpful and location is great in the Prenzlauer Berg neighbourhood, which has heaps of trendy restaurants and bars too.

Loved the staff. They were so friendly and organised great group outings. Location was awesome. So many cool shops and restaurants. Beds were super comfy and clean.

Very social hostel, went above and beyond to organise group activities. The outdoor section was really vibey and nice to hang in. The area was fantastic.

Honestly nothing major, maybe some curtains on beds for privacy but tbh the rooms themselves were spacious enough with good secure storage that it didnt really matter.

I absolutely loved this hostel from the moment I entered until I left. I was greeted by smiling, friendly, genuine staff. Most of the team members are travellers/volunteers and know the importance of providing fellow travellers with good experiences. My room, 44, was great. The bathroom, kept immaculately clean, was immediately adjacent to my room and it almost felt as if it was ensuite. I enjoyed being able to listen to other hostel guests as they quietly socialized in the back garden. It felt really good when the team members I met and interacted with remembered my name. They provided good recommendations on where to eat and sights to visit. I'm in my 70s and appreciate quality and authenticity. East Seven has several plaques proudly proclaiming their status as The Best Hostel in Germany. Not at all an exaggeration. La creme de la creme. Had I not other cities and adventures in my itinerary, I would have gladly extended my 5 day stay in Berlin and at East Seven.

This is a great hostel for people looking to socialize and enjoy the club scene in Berlin. The staff members were super helpful during my stay and would host events every day, taking people to popular bars/beer gardens/flea markets, etc. around the city, and host indoor dinners. The hostel has a group chat for people to ask questions in, and staff members would post about events going on at clubs every night and give tips on things like dress code. There's also a closet with clothes and accessories you can rent for clubbing. There were a lot of other solo travelers/small groups in their 20s during my stay, and with the group chat and a few common areas in the hostel, it was easy to meet people to go out with. The facilities were also kept really clean. There's a few bathrooms on each floor with at least one or two showers/stalls in each, so even with quite a few people staying on each floor, I rarely needed to wait to use the bathroom.

The closest tram and subway stops (to most tourist attractions/areas at least) were around a 10-12 minute walk away. There was a subway stop 5 minutes away from the hostel, but the southbound train on that line didn't stop there, so you could only use that station if you were traveling north. The surrounding neighborhood is safe (and I'm not sure if that track was just closed temporarily due to construction), but it's something to keep in mind if you're looking for a place that's closer to public transportation. The luggage storage containers in the rooms are below the bunk beds and make some noise when being opened, so if you're planning to sleep early and are on the bottom bunk, you may get woken up when the person above you takes out their luggage. Additionally, the weather was scorching hot during my stay, but the hostel didn't have any AC or fans in the rooms. My room was on one of the upper floors and got super hot, to the point that it was hard to stay in it for more than a few minutes at a time during the day (even with the windows open). I would really recommend the hostel get some fans for the summer.

Truly the best hostel I've ever been to. I loved the friendly and special atmosphere and the social events they organize. Very very clean, comfortable, with new furniture and equipped with everything. Also well located and close to the underground. It exceeded my expectations! I really recommend you for solo travelling. Great vibe and friendly staff. There's a kitchen, huge living room with a couch and TV (with Netflix) and a large beer garden. Only about a 5-10min walk to the nearest underground.

Place had comfy beds and a nice outdoor garden area. The neighborhood was cute and the location has access to plenty of restaurants nearby. Very clean and well-maintained facilties.

The people from the hostel very friendly all. If you come alone you will meet nice people.

The best hostel I've stayed at. Staff are really friendly and personable and make an effort to remember your name and be very accommodating. The socials that they host every night are also a very nice touch and range from going to beer gardens to karaoke. I hope to be back very soon!

The whole vibe of the Hostel is just perfect. Everybody is friendly, happy, open-minded and social. The staff is very welcoming and makes sure everybody has a good stay.

This hostel was incredible! The staff were so warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was wonderfully social. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the facilities were excellent. It’s the first hostel I’ve stayed at where I genuinely didn’t want to leave. If I’m ever back in Berlin, I’ll definitely return. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe and well looked after here.

The hostel was very clean and orderly. There were activities to do everyday with the hostel and it was pretty easy to meet other travelers. The staff was fun and friendly.

There wasn’t an elevator so taking the stairs was a bit tiring. People also were a bit loud outside in the evenings. There were more groups of travelers than solo travelers.

Friendly hosts, social and considerate atmosphere. Easily the best hostel I've stayed at as a lone traveller. Despite being a bit older than the average backpacker, I still felt welcomed and enjoyed the stay!

This hostel is the friendliest one I've ever stayed at! It's very warm, extremely clean, and totally safe. The staff are all attentive and caring—they take great care of everyone and always make this place feel like home. There are different activities every day, which help everyone get to know each other and have fun together. All in all, the atmosphere is fantastic! I really like this place and would love to come back one day.

The staff were so welcoming and accomodating. There was always support available when needed. The beds were comfortable, the atmosphere was very homey and social. The kitchen and common areas, as well as the outside area, were superb!

Loves the open atmosphere in the hostel. From the first second, I felt taken care of. Everyone were welcoming and between the guests. The personnel also arranged activities that helped build community and a feeling of connection
