Comfortable and clean.

I greeted staff every morning with “good morning” not once was the greeting returned. Staff could be more welcoming as the facility is.

1) Walking distance from Bus Terminal and South Station, which has direct connection to Logan International Airport with the bus SL1. 2) Individual lockers at the head of bed. You can take your own padlock or buy it at reception for 8USD. 3) Bedrooms and social areas (kitcken, lobby downstairs, ...), as well as restrooms are always clean. 4) Last but not least, employees are the most welcoming, day and night. They make you feel good. Thank you all for the great experience I have had there from Monday 16th of March 2026 to Thursday 19th of March 2026.

The staff upon checking in, offered me a complimentary upgrade to a private room. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The property was clean and in a great downtown location.

Some young girls were partying in the room neari e and made loud noise till 2 am. But I was tired enough that I still slept ok.

It was very easy to get around

Everything was owesome whenever I needed help their staff was there specially when I couldn’t find the can opener and she helped me.

The bedroom was not smelling very good, but maybe it was just due to someone. Also some people were very noisy in the morning, talking while everyone was still sleeping. But this is part of the hostel experience I guess.

Not very clean. Loud. The activity staff and volunteers am were really awesome. The front desk people were like ghosts. They didn’t interact alt all.

It is a Hostel, so expect the pros and cons of a Hostel 😀 For me HI Boston is definetely marking the upper end of the Hostel scale. Staff is super helpful and friendly, they also provide a lot to try get you in touch with others and offer activities etc. The place is very well organized, and they try to keep everything clean and as comfortable a possible. I loved the location - very central and Chinatown just arround the corner with dozens of great opportunities to eat out.

my bed was by the window, and there was a cold draft..thank goodness I had a travel blanket . The entire room was cold. The light switch for the room seemed to be far from the door. The room was dark when I arrived. I had to put my suitcase in the doorway and use my phone flashlight to get enough light from the hallway and my phone to locate the light switch. Some sort or nightlight on the switch or motion sensor light would be very helpful to see around

The staff were very helpful. I'm glad that I could do an early check-in because if not, it would have been a nightmare to carry my backpack with me to the JFK Presidential Library and Museum, especially if backpacks are forbidden there. The welcome party was enjoyable. I made some friends my age and everyone I interacted with were nice and friendly to me at all times. The bed was comfortable enough. The room and bathroom were clean. The value for the money was outstanding. Because of that, I would love to stay at the HI Boston Hostel again the next time I stay overnight in Boston.

What I didn't like was that my room wasn't too full. There was just one other person staying in the same room I was staying in. I was expecting that I would have a full room with amazing people. Instead, there was one person only. So, the other thing that would make my stay better is being in a room with at least 2-3 other people. That way, I don't feel in need of connection or bored in my room. Other than that, great place and great stay.

Unfortunately the heater in my room didn't work properly (and Boston in February is quite cold!). The staff manage to find a way around with an auxiliary heating.

Location to the Theater was great . Cost was also great for a room . Staff was excellent as well

Other the room I stayed, the common area was so so so great , staff too. Even knowing I stayed there during a blizzard, the room was great, location too, I could also work, it was all great .

Everything was exceptionally neat, the location was near perfect and the staff was super amicable. They provide large lockers in which a carry-on and a big backpack can fit easily. Bathrooms were cleaned regularly throughout the day. Amazing.

I 😍❤️ loved the Atmosphere in general and the Great customer service at the Desk ..They really care about people being comfortable with their stay at Hi Hostel...I loved all the snacks that you can buy and the fun events sponsored daily by Hi Hostel. Boston is a Walking city...You always felt comfortable when you came back from your day spent in Boston..The nice furniture in the lobby allowed for relaxation and warmth...

Super close to Chinatown, Theater District and a whole bunch of clubs. Subway 2 blocks away. Fabulous location.

Everything was great. I had a private room and it was pretty big and very clean.

Shout out to Victor from the front desk, who was very friendly and responsive. The hostel had a lot of space (I had a 6 bed room to myself), cool common areas to hang out in and more than enough bathrooms. (I was visiting in the winter though so I can't attest to what it's like in the summer). It's also located in the most central part of Boston, a block away from the common and green / orange lines. They also were very flexible with extending my stay and check out time.

This would be a 10 if it were 35$ a night hostels shouldn’t be more than that

The staff members were very helpful, per usual; one young woman named Amada (I think that's how she spells it) was particularly patient with all of my late-night questions. The price for my room was terrific (under $50) and I had it all to myself!

I REALLY wish you still served a complimentary breakfast every morning!

It was efficient. Good check in experience. Nice lobby. I needed a one night stay on two consecutive weekends. Both nights were the same standard, clean and well designed. It's really good value for money in a very good location. Thanks to the staff for making it a memorable part of a great personal experience.

Great place to stay in Boston! They offer so many activities, we look forward to returning for a longer stay to explore more. Our room was small but the shared kitchen was huge and we found a space in the common area where we could do yoga and spread out a bit. We had no issues with noise or anything, highly recommend.

The location was great and close to South Station - as well as being a wonderfully walkable city, the staff had some great suggestions of where to go when I asked them! They also had a lot of great tours and activities throughout the week!

We liked it all

I always stay here if I am travelling alone or less than 2 days. I pay somewhere between $50 - $70 per night for my stay in Dec/Jan. It’s great value for money, staff is friendly, and the neighbourhood is very lively. It’s located right in China town and walking distance to the Theatre District

Beds are a little “tough” but it’s okay for the price you get pay.
