Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown, Chicago

The location of the hotel was great, it was in walking distant of almost everything that we had planned to do. The room was a suite and accommodated my family and I perfectly. The suite was clean with the exception off minor things, such as dirty window, dusty sprinkler and peeling wall paper. Also, things kept going out in our suite (bathroom lights, microwave, fridge) but the staff was exceptional with resolving all issues. The breakfast was ok, a great addition to our stay for a quick bite to eat and unlimited coffee all day long. The staff especially Yolo at the front desk was very helpful. She gave us a map to get a round and recommendations of things to do and places to eat. Overall a great stay, I would come back when in Chicago.

I didn't like how there were electrical issues in our suite that made the microwave, bathroom and fridge lose power. However, the staff was exceptional with resolving the issues.

The hotel is excellent, fast check in/check out, clean everywhere, excellent beds, bed linen and fresh, new towels. Quite acceptable pool, also a cool terrace, where you can relax in the evening. Not bad breakfast, although the description of the breakfast was overstated, in general it is no worse and no better than any American breakfast. Good for visiting Chicago for a few days

It is very inconvenient to use the TV remote, you have to be a genius with buttons, why did they do it like that? Also, there is no or did not work a hood in the bathroom, which is very inconvenient.

as locations go close to all but not near anything, it was like 1 mile to any major destination say Navy Pier, Willis Tower, Museums further. breakfast good, and kids loved a pool on site. but value for money is V good.

Our room upgrade was great and very clean. Breakfast choices were good and staff throughout the hotel was very helpful and friendly.

Parking was a block over. I parked in the wrong one to start with, just a bit of a pain when we were coming in and leaving.

The location is perfect, well connected by public transport and close to the main attraction walking. The room was large, comfortable and very clean. The breakfast is the standard US style and was included in the room. The staff is nice and helping. If planning to return to Chicago, this hotel will be my first choice, if available.

Walking distance to several attractions! Michigan Ave is very close. Amazing hospitality and terrace is relaxing. Breakfast was top knotch! THE VALET IS VERY ACCOMODATING!

Location was great for walking to many things like shopping, restaurants, and the river. Breakfast was good, it has all the normal stuff. Everyone should be able to find something to eat. It was a very comfortable stay. Valet was great, very fast and easy to work with.

The room was great, the location was perfect, there were plenty of restaurants and entertainment within walking distance, and breakfast contained a variety of choices: sausage, waffles, potatoes, eggs, cereal, muffins, bagels, yogurt, coffee, juice, milk, etc.

I only wish that there were turkey or chicken meat available for breakfast because I don’t eat beef or pork.

Everything!! The breakfast was good & they always had enough food, despite the crowds. The waffle station was popular. I loved the 24 hour complimentary tea, coffee & hot chocolate station. Great location to all the attractions.

Bed was not comfortable and requests from the staff were not met. We asked the front desk and our maid for more soap and never got any (was not refilled when we arrived)

the staff were nice & very helpful. we weren't able to check in earlier due to a concert, so we called & notified the staff that we might show up past the time slot of check in. they were understanding & made sure other staff were notified of the delay. i also enjoyed the breakfast options & the 24/7 snack area.

The accommodation was nice, clean, the staff was great, the breakfast not so much. Not much to choose from, no vegetables but apparently it's pretty similar everywhere in the US.

I don't know why we couldn't park the Dodge at the hotel. We could park any other car but not the Dodge.

That our stay was only 3 nights. We could have stayed a week. Great room/suite and totally pet friendly facility.

We stayed in the king suite room and unfortunately we could hear everything that was saying next door. Somehow we had a door that was divided our suite and other one.

Front Desk information about area was great. Location to transit, attractions and restaurants excellent. Breakfast great and always replenished as needed. Pool was clean and warm enough for use.

We knew we were near a fire station but it wasn't so bad - maybe mention that in the description of the area.

Loved the location near my friends in River North, and nearby food and store offerings. Walking distance to Michigan Avenue and the lakeshore.

Was a little higher cost, probably due to summer prices.

Only thing we didn't like, we asked the cleaning staff for a toilet paper, she said she couldn't give us one, the reason we asked her, my son was sick and stayed at the room that day, so they couldn't clean the room, so we ran out of toilet paper, other than that, everything was excellent.

The receptionist at arrival went above and beyond, really friendly and helpful. All the other staff I interacted with, be it the housekeepers, breakfast staff, as well as the other receptionists were also excellent. The area is nice and location is very convenient, close to Navy Pier, the Bean/Art Institute, and public transportation. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was enjoyable, I liked the fresh self-made waffles and the coffee was excellent. Finally, the hotel has a pool that's on the small side, but enjoyable. A sauna/stream room would really enhance the pool/gym area if the hotel decided to add that feature. Overall, I'd recommend the hotel with confidence.

While the breakfast was ultimately good and enjoyable, there were some items missing that one would expect to see at a good hotel such as bacon, ham, cheese, more than one type of bagel and bread, more pastries than just one type of muffin. Without these items, breakfast turns into a very sugar-high affair, which really isn't optimal if one is staying longer than a couple of days.

It was located in an area that we were able to walk to many of our planned destinations.

There is nothing we didn’t like about the property.

Everything, the receptionist was very nice and welcoming. Rooms are very nice, good orginized. Breakfast is ussual as in every hotel in US- bad! Come on US, you can do better. Pool is very nice, gym small but you have everything. Clean rooms. It’s just a good hotel.

Valet was bad except the last night. I was going early out and you could not reach them, they say 15 min, it is 25. Don’t bother. The night before the check out one guy was really professional !

Hotel is near fire station and, naturally, station's operation impacts noise level around the hotel. I think that breakfest was a bit too 'poor', It missed a bit more variety, but perhaps I am spoiled by European hotels.

We had the king suite and it was perfect for 3 adults. The pull out couch was in need of a new mattress. A bit lumpy. Location was perfect to walk to all areas. There is a rather busy CFD station a block over. Sirens often at night. There is a GREAT Italian restaurant that joins the lobby.
