Aberdeen Lodge in Dublin is a charming, family-run bed and breakfast that offers a peaceful escape in the upscale, tree-lined suburb of Sandymount. Set within grand Edwardian villas on Park Avenue, the lodge captures the elegance of a bygone era. Guests often delight in its period-style architecture, which is complemented by beautifully landscaped gardens that provide a quiet sanctuary just a short distance from the city’s hustle and bustle.
A stay here feels deeply personal, thanks to the warm hospitality of the owners, Pat and Ann. The lodge is famous for its award-winning breakfasts, featuring homemade breads and pastries, which can be enjoyed while looking out over the greenery. For those seeking extra character, some rooms even boast luxurious four-poster beds, enhancing that authentic “home away from home” feeling.
The location is ideal for exploring both local and city-center attractions. You are within walking distance of the scenic Sandymount Strand, which is famously overlooked by a historic Martello tower. The nearby DART station provides a seamless link to Dublin’s city center in just minutes.
From this base, you can easily reach major landmarks such as the historic Trinity College, the National Museum of Ireland, and the iconic Aviva Stadium. Whether you are in town for the sights or simply to enjoy the tranquility of an elegant Edwardian residence, Aberdeen Lodge serves as a perfect, restful anchor for your Dublin adventure.

Calming oasis in lovely neighborhood with easy access to all Dublin sights
Love the location slightly away from busy urban center but on easy-access bus and Dart lines. Lovely house and back garden. Staff and owners were universally welcoming and helpful. So close to great shore walking.

Beautiful and tranquil
This is a gorgeous Lodge/Hotel near Sandymount Village. It is a 10 min walk to Sandymount village and a 10 min walk to St Vincents Hospital. Very quiet setting in a beautiful residential area, not far from Sandymount strand. The dart is nearby and there is a bus stop a minute walk from the lodge. Room was well appointed, clean and comfortable. The hosts are very kind and attentive. I would stay again and recommend to friends and family.
Nothing, everything great.

Nestled in a quiet, very safe neighborhood near buses and dart. Hosts were amazing and offered exceptional hospitality. Suggestions from where to visit to where to eat were excellent.

Beautiful place in Sandymount.
This is our beloved place, it's the third time we've stayed here. And each time we got a nice welcome in comfy chairs with coffee, tea with milk and homemade peanut cookies. The host also gave us an Easter present, thank you very much. Room and bathroom perfectly prepared. Every day there was cleaning, changing towels, refilling coffee and tea and toiletries - we thank the entire staff for such service.
As the hostess confirmed, only a few things had changed around here since last year :-) but what hadn't changed was a great breakfast: Irish breakfast, toast with butter and marmalade, scrambled eggs with salmon, pancakes, granola with yoghurt and fruit...coffee or tea with milk, of course.
Nor has the smell of the white lilies that greet you at the reception and in the drawing room.
The location of the accommodation is in a quiet part, just outside Dublin city centre as well as Sandymount Beach.
We really love it here. We look forward to our next reunion.

The Aberdeen Lodge is perfect for the solo traveler.
This is my second time staying at the Aberdeen Lodge. I came here two years ago, and there was no question about coming back. I consider it my home away from home when I’m in Dublin. Pat and Ann are wonderful hosts. SandyMount is a wonderful and safe area. Close to the beach, restaurants and pubs.
Nothing.

Lovely, exquisite, pristine, amazing
I absolutely loved this stay. The host was inviting and such a nice person to talk with. The tea in the library was excellent. The garden view was beautiful and the 2 dogs were absolutely adorable and well mannered. The place had an aroma of flowers and was pristine in its cleanliness. The host went above and beyond to give us breakfast even though we had an early morning flight. The breakfast was fresh and wonderful. I suggested this place to my sister and will be coming back!

Lovely, small hotel with excellent breakfast and lovely staff.
This small hotel was very, very cozy. I really feeled welcomed when I arrived.
Breakfast was good with a few options, and the dining room was lovely! This hotel is located in a quiet and neat area, but public transport (dart, bus) is within easy reach. I´d had loved to be able to stay there longer.

Relaxing, close to it all, quiet
This was the perfect place for me - very close to Dublin city center, which was accessible by bus or tram, close to the water, quiet, comfortable, quaint neighborhood, excellent Irish breakfast. The owners were very helpful with recommendations and extra accommodations (public transport passes, calling taxis, etc). I highly recommend.

An oasis of calm.
I was greeted by the owners, the house was decorated for Christmas and looked amazing. The location was brilliant for RDS and the Aviva stadium. I would love to stay again.

Superb stay at Aberdeen Lodge, would 100% recommend and would definitely stay again !
The check in was smooth, and the staff were very friendly. The room had all I needed, a good size, and a very comfortable bed.

Great choice, perfectly placed for the RDS nearby, Dublin Bay and right on public transport route to the city
Lovely double fronted house set back from the road. Quiet safe avenue with lovely big houses. Lovely wood and carpets throughout, beautifully decorated.
It’s not the latest decor but that doesn’t mean it it tired at all. It’s a period property and it all goes together.

Wonderful food, great location, and reasonable price
The food was wonderful. I have some dietary requirements, and Ann was able to make beautiful, delicious, and safe meals for me. The room was clean, and it had everything I needed. Pat helped me so much with planning my day trips and where to eat. His advice was spot on. The location is absolutely amazing - about a block to the bus stop and just a little farther to the light rail station. It is also walking distance to the little village of Sandymount, which has a Tesco and some really wonderful restaurants. The price of staying at the lodge was really reasonable, especially for how convenient it was to get into the city center from there.

If you can afford it, this is a lovely hotel in the suburbs - highly recommended
We booked this room on the spur of the moment after realising we couldn't stay another night where we were booked. The owner was amazingly welcoming on arrival giving us a map of local amenities and talking us through the local area.
I wish we could have stayed longer!! our ferry was the next morning

Cozy lodge minutes from Dublin center
Very nice & friendly hosts, cute house in a very nice neighborhood, excellent breakfast, super clean property & rooms, good transport connection to dublin center (bus runs 24 hours, takes 12-15 mins to city, stop is 1 min walk from the lodge), cute doggies, homely/cozy feeling.
Rooms are not sound proofed. The wooden floors are squeaky. Could hear other guests walking around, talking, slamming doors (sometimes).

Floor boards put a ceiling on our rating
Friendly staff, beautiful house. Felt very clean and comfortable. The location is great, it's near buses, the Dart and an easy walk to the Strand.
The floor boards are creaky and the sound insulation is non existent. We woke up every morning at 7am to the person in the room above us walking around and people having loud conversations in the hallway. For me, this was a deal breaker. If I knew about the noise, I wouldn't have booked here.

An Irish gem
The breakfasts prepared by Ann and the staff are excellent and served in the elegant white table cloth dining room. The dishes and service are superb.
The place is immaculate.
The location is excellent with easy access to the city and excellent destination highlights.
