Hostel Nui, Tokyo

Great pace to stay ! Nice vibe and I like the fact the area is more quiet

The staff is welcoming and competent, the common rooms are cozy and cater to both those who want to socialise and those who just want to chill in their own bubble. Great quiet location to explore Tokyo and to reach from Narita airport. Lots of locals come here in the evening for a drink or two, which makes the atmosphere very pleasant.

The twin room was a tad small, and AC in the cafe was too strong for my taste, given that it was extremely hot outside. But a very good hostel overall.

Its a great vibe, the bar downstairs and the bunk beds were awesome

The staff were excellent, nice quiet location and great amenities. The showers, common areas and lobby were always clean. I stayed at this property on three occasions and I plan on being back in March.

The hostel was very trendy but also exceptionally clean and organised. The cafe downstairs had great food and staff. And the common room on the 6th floor had a great kitchen and laundry area. The best part of Nui. was how many cool people I met staying there, especially one of the hostel staff, Sora. One of the kindest and most accommodating hostel staff I have ever met, and he spoke great english so he was very helpful with any questions i had as well as recommendations for Tokyo. Overall, this hostel was the highlight of my trip (:

Potentially a little more counter space in the shower area for personal items and more clothing clips to hang clothes to dry on the rooftop.

Having the café and the close proximity to the subway were very convenient.

Unfortunately, I spent way more than I wanted with the dryers, because they took several cycles to dry a small amount of clothing. Also, major trains are a bit farther away, extending travel time by rail.

Very clean and comfortable, and the location is great too.

It had a great vibe, staff were lovely, it was very clean, the aircon was great as it was quite hot. The bar downstairs was very good loved the yuzu drink!

Really cool vibe. Perfect location not too central but easy to get into the hectic city if you want to. Cute rooftop. Older crowd for hostel which was perfect for me. Quiet and super clean facilities

Excellent and hip hostel in a quieter part of town but with easy access to everything the city has to offer. Walking distance to the Sumida riverfront and Asakusa with two metro stations very close by. Not a party hostel but still very social. Facilities were very comfortable. I stayed twice, first in the river view room which was incredible, second time in the mixed dorm which was surprisingly clean and quiet for a hostel. Watching the Sumidagawa fireworks from the rooftop is an experience I will never forget. Great base if you are staying in Tokyo for more than a few days.

Very nice location by the river, close to the train station and surprisingly quiet. A nice respite compared to something like Shibuya

The big plus of the Hostel is the bar area. Cool atmosphere, cozy drinks and good food. Perfect location for sightseeing in a silent neighborhood. The size of the doorms was ok, but the private rooms were even for Japanese levels a little bit small.

Unfortunately they were doing a bit of a Reno so lost access for a day and a night. Closes a bit early to sit and have drinks.

Close to train stations, so easy to get to any part of Tokyo. Rooms were clean, had decent size lockers (use your own lock). Rooms have keyless entry (code on door). There’s a decent lounge and kitchen area with fridge & stove. Laundry and rooftop to hang clothes or just hang out. Large bathrooms with separate showers and toilets. Beds have curtains. Staff was friendly & helpful. Would recommend a stay here. More social than some other hostels in Japan.

The hostel is very well organised and clean, the toilet is quite big and with a commensurate air ventilation. The staff is really nice and kind and helpful. The bar/restaurant and the breakfast are simply amazing! For the architecture, the music and the food! I just couldn't add breakfast to my room for ¥1000 once there as Booking says at the moment of choosing between options (with or without breakfast included), but you can have a really good one choosing from the menu and spending a little bit more. Thank you, I appreciated everything from the very beginning!

Relaxing ,friendly, atmosphere .Beautifully designed downstairs in Cafe. Breakfast delicious and staff friendly. Bathrooms clean. We met lovely people. Train station close by. Loved walking by the Sumida River up to Asakusa. Very safe at night Highly Recommend

Bedroom very small but window opened. Bedroom wasn't cleaned in the 6 days we stayed there.

Drinks were expensive in the lovely bar on the ground floor. More for locals than hostel stayers. A shame because it was a great place to be.

Asakusa is not close to Shibuya etc (about 45 mins into these areas) BUT it's got a very local energy about it, there was a temple event happening just across the road one of the days with lots of locals about. The hostel is super clean, rooms are what you expect for a hostel, their brunch and coffee are banging and its got a good evening vibe if you're looking for a chill drink after a long day - lots of opportunities to meet some cool people.

Maybe a bit far to get to some tourist attractions but also Tokyo is massive so you're never going to be near everything. On the welcome card it says you have to pay for a towel but that is now included which is good :) Staff were pleasant enough!

Really cool vibe with the café dowstairs, the room was nice, the cleanliness impecable, the area super cool and 2 metro lignes super close to easily move around Tokyo . Good spot.

The rooms could benefit from more ventilation to avoid smelling

One of the best hostels I've stayed at. Ever. Absolutely beautifully designed, a pleasure to spend time in. Friendly and lively environment, but people were quiet in the sleeping areas. Breakfast was delicious, staff friendly.

Mattresses were a little thin, but I was so tired after all day of exploring so it didn't matter!

The lounge and bar area were amazing. Food was outstanding.

The cocktails were just okay. Almost no noise protection. Walls were thin. Had no issues here because they provided earplugs but worth noting.

I loved the location and its proximity to a lot of the touristy things I was interested in ie sky tree, senjo temple, akihbara. I also loved the cafe/bar area; was a great way to meet people and start/end the day.

As is the case for everywhere, space for belongings. There’s only one very small locker for your things and a space under the bed for your bag- not locked. This wasn’t a super huge problem for me as I only had carry on and could empty my bag and fit all of my packing cubes into my locker but keep this in mind

Lovely cafe with excellent coffee, great vibes, clean and comfortable rooms and bathrooms.

The room and bathroom were spacious (for a hostel) and clean. The location was a little far from Shibuya and Shinjuku but it was a great location in terms of seeing things in Asakusa and walking to local bars and restaurants and the river and the Senso-ji Temple. It was also very social which I loved and the bar in the lobby was a little pricey but it was fun to go there every night because there were both fellow travelers and locals there.

The ledge in the showers to put your clothes could have been bigger like in the sister hostel in Kyoto.

The bar/restaurant on the ground floor is great (delicious food for breakfast/dinner and fancy drinks). Our private room was very clean and had a comfortable bed. The hostel is in a quiet neighbourhood, but you can reach the metro and some sightseeing spots on foot. Would recommend this hostel for some nice days in Tokyo.

The common shower/bathroom was not the cleanest - but our room and other areas were very clean.

location is not the closest to the train station but its just fine. bike rental by the hotel was way more expensive than usual. didn't quite get to connect with other hostel stayers but maybe a longer stay would have helped.

Relaxed vibe in a peaceful location of Kuramae! Very easy to get to from the airport - one train and they stored my luggage. Check in not until 4pm, but as I arrived from London at 9am the reception was kind enough to let me in at 2:30pm for a nap. I had a private room with shared facilities- toilet and shower. I think this place is fantastic value for money. All other guests very quiet and respectful of each other. The bar downstairs is actually so relaxing to sit alone/read/write or just have a gin and tonic after a day of sightseeing! Very cosy vibe and played great music. I enjoyed this place so much, I am returning when I come back to Tokyo!

Rooms were good and equipped with good airco.

We slept on the girls only floor. So when i needed to shower and pee i needed to go to an other floor. Not that big a problem bit still a tiny bit annoying

Staff friendly and professional. Great attention to cleaning. Lovely ambience in the bar/cafe area. Useful to have kitchen for food prep and good to have tea and coffee provided. Near to metro station.

I loved the vibes of the first floor. Having a drink and some food on the first floor before heading up to my room and a well-kept hostel environment that provides just about everything you need. It's also close to convenient stores and some good mainline trains.

Honestly, nothing. I would definitely come back here again.

Close to public transport in a quite neighbourhood close to restaurants and attractions. Good food and drink in cafe and friendly staff

The staff was incredibly kind and forth coming, always ready to help and share tips about Japan. It was extremely clean and would recommend as a woman to go to the woman rooms: just because men store lol. The location was walking distance from shrines and ultimate cherry blossom viewings. And was meters away from the train station. it was perfect.

The staff were very organised and helpful always responded promptly on email. The 11pm curfew is also a very good idea.

Best and most attentive staff for the hostel. So welcoming and helped me in so many ways when they didn’t have to. The vibe and situation was also great!

Overall, I had a lovely experience at Nui. The staff were wonderful, and the shared amenities were excellent—there was even a bath in one of the bathrooms, which I absolutely loved. While the rooms were on the smaller side, they were still very comfortable.

The bed was a bit firm, and the noise from outside could be quite loud, but they provide earplugs, which was a thoughtful touch.

The hostel was in a great location, quiet but still super close to the liveliness of Asakusa. All the staff was super friendly which created a friendly vibe among the travellers. Breakfast was incredible and the value was well worth the money!
