Large room, great view, very comfortable bed

Air conditioning on too high .. it was cold everywhere! Shame there isn’t a hot tub or sauna.

Location is great

Room was below expectation, poor view, some dust and leftover garbage.

The overall experience is nice

The hotel did not meet my expectations for a luxury experience. The pillows were not down-filled, which is disappointing for a high-end hotel. Additionally, the bathroom felt cramped and outdated, and the towels provided were worn and in need of replacement.

The hotel is absolutely stunning! Location is perfect and the staff are extremely helpful, and friendly. Our room was lovely with a gorgeous view of parliament and the Rideau canal. Wilfred’s was an amazing dining experience. Their mocktails are delicious!

Only complaint were the extremely uncomfortable bed and the bathroom (not cleaned thoroughly).

We appreciated the central location. As tourists, we were able to walk easily to a lot of sites. We loved that we were upgraded so that we were able to take advantage of breakfast and snacks. With a busy schedule, we really appreciated this. And we would definitely return if we knew we would be upgraded again. And the food was descent.

Unfortunately it is an old hotel. As a result, we had a problem opening the door. We had maintenance look at the problem and they basically said it was an old hotel and there was nothing they could do. As a result, we either had to push the door with our shoulder or kick the door to get I. It was a little embarrassing since this happened every time.

We’re given a room that has not been cleaned at 4pm so we were not early for our reso I feel the room should have been ready. Stripped bed dirty towels and empty bottles and glassware . The maid did make it ready promptly when told . But when I notified the desk they were not in the least bothered by my comment .

Unbeatable location. Unique experience exploring the building, seeing the period details and historic photos and memorabilia around the hotel. Spacious room with good view. High tea was a delight ($$$ as expected) even though Zoe's is under renovation.

Hallway (second floor) and lifts had a musty odour. Bathroom did not have a ventilation fan which is understandable for a historic building, but might be expected in a more luxuriously priced hotel. Curtains in the room had unsightly oily-looking stains. Bed sheet had a small rust-coloured stain. We didn't receive any acknowledgement of our special occasion even though we noted it on our reservation. Valet parking looked hectic with the driveway completely backed up at busy times. Since we didn't have much luggage, we're glad we opted for a nearby garage in ByWard Market for a fraction of the price.

Some of the staff took it upon themselves to behave as if it were a worldclass hotel. The location was/is great.

The room was not the room we expected. We looked through all of the pictures to make sure that we had the right room and in the end we got the room with the view that we didn't like. The windows were all pushed into the corner. The bathroom was dark, small and without a fan. We had to ask for coffee and sugar for our machine.

Beautiful, traditional hotel located in the most perfect spot for Ottawa sightseeing. We had only one night in Ottawa and the Parliament buildings & canal locks were at our doorstep.

The Hotel boasts of the best location in the city. You cannot get a better location than this.... what Fairmont has to offer in the city of Ottawa. Ideally located dead center of the city close to anything and everything one would want both as a tourist or generally visiting. Room service was excellent and the food was very nice too.

The Check in wait time standing in the line was quite uncalled for. The Hotel knows this is the check in time they could have more staff at the counter to attend to people to avoid a long lineup. The Senior Front desk Manager/ Manager has disregarded it. Shows totally lack of empathy for the guest waiting in line to check in, totally unexpectable from a Hotel of such repute. Very unfortunate. Someone even jumped the line right in from of me I had to interject and questioned Why? It was then the staff intervened. Also the long wait time for your car to be at the main gate by the Valet. 50 minutes is too long a time A person needs to be posted or at the least a sign indicating directions at the entrance of the Hotel to guide the vehicles through the entryway it is an accident waiting to happen. Very difficult to maneuver a vehicle into the Portico/ Porte Cochere from the main street The room service apparently forgot to change the Shower gel bottle it was totally empty in the shower area and I had to do with the Shampoo only... Very sad for a hotel such as Fairmont totally unacceptable , I did bring it to the notice at the front desk.

The room size was very small. I booked a king size room, and it was very small as compared to other hotels. Plus, the doors were so stiff, difficult to opening and close

Beautiful property. Great location. Our room was very bright and spacious. Everything was super clean. Awesome pool.

The air conditioning wasn’t the strongest. Our room was an ok temperature but definitely could have been cooler as it was 35 degrees out. Also would have liked a bigger bathtub but that’s just preference:).

Great view on the Parliament hill; the bed in our room was very comfy; the room well-equipped.

Somehow reception always had a queue; and it took a bit of time to wait for both checking in and checking out. Only valet parking on premises

Very disappointed experience with valet parking. We waited for about 30 minutes every time to retrieve our car and the app didn’t work.

Staff were lovely, location brilliant, and Stewart (the pup in residence) was brilliant! The people in the room next to us were blaring music at 1:30am so I contacted reception and all sorted within minutes. We didn’t go for breakfast as at booking we were advised it was approx $39 per adult and $20 per child but loads of places nearby to grab something.

Prices of the restaurants. 34$ for eggs and sausage and 12$ for cereal 😠

The location is ideal. Very easy proximity to all you need. The hotel bar was undergoing a refurbishment so not available (drop down of 1 point to a 9) We had upgraded to a gold room and boy was it worth it! The staff generally very friendly and attentive. Even more so in the premier level. The use of the lounge elevated the stay even more. Excellent service, views and facilities including food and drink.

Valet took the 45 minutes stated rather than the potential 15 minutes suggested. They did need to be prompted too. So go straight to the valet at the front door to know you are waiting.
