The Shelbourne Renaissance Hotel, Dublin

Fabulous stay for a milestone birthday. Staff couldn't have been nicer. We had a nice room booked but got upgraded to a lovely suite. Came back later that night and they had left some wine and desserts along with a card wishing me a happy birthday. Breakfast was so nice and the valet parking was a bonus. Expensive stay but it was such a treat. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you Shelbourne. We will be back. X

Room was very warm so hard to sleep. We should have set the temperature to cooler earlier in the day.

On arrival we were given a brief overview and history by a very nice porter whilst he carried our case to reception. Check in went smoothly. Our room was beautiful and met our needs very well. Bed extremely comfortable, stunning bathroom, and well organised wardrobe space with essential utilities. Lovely surprise card and biscuit cakes were placed in the room for the birthday person and very happily received. Concierge extremely helpful 👏

The standard floor lamp is strategically placed behind the reading armchair, however, it's close proximity to the telly causes an annoying reflection. A barman stood on the bar to restock drinks at an extremely high level. Although he was very confident, health and safety issues might be a consideration in the very near future along with the hygiene of the affected bar area that was not cleaned after this episode of restocking.

Location was perfect. Located near to the main shopping high street. Short walk to temple bar area. The staff were extremely friendly and the room was very clean. The lobby area and entrance is stunning and very striking.

The coffee machine was a little temperamental in the room and our view from the window was uninspiring. However, we didn’t opt for the park view so we can live with that.

Leisure centre facilities lacking majorly. Pool temp could be warmer. Although renovations are underway, there is no plan within those renovations to include a jacuzzi or thermal suite facilities. Understandably with an old building - space can be an issue for plans such as this. However, with a Spa, such facilities would be largely favorable. The swimming pool could be two thirds the size to incorporate a jacuzzi. Just a suggestion. Always look forward to my Christmas trip there!

Only downside was service in side room leaving dirty plates to pile up on table and not being offered any toast Christina on reception was exceptional deserves employee of the month award,charming v helpful couldn’t do enough to help us

We had afternoon tea on the day of arrival, make sure you don’t eat beforehand. Beautifully prepared and presented. Breakfast was fresh with a great selection.

The ambience of the hotel is fabulous a pure 5 star experience . Location is excellent . The staff are amazing , the welcome you always get by the concierge at the front door is fabulous and they always wish you well when you are checking out . I really like the personal touch which is what brings me back to The Shelbourne time after time .

Everything was perfect.We were celebrating my friends 80th Birthday.We were invited to the Merrion Hotel for lunch and a look around incase we fancied a change for my Birthday.The Jury’s still out!!!

Bathroom shower wasn’t easy to get in and out almost fell. No breakfast included for the price we paid Parking charge of $50.00 was outrageous all the hotels we stayed in Ireland we never had to pay for a parking charge.

The staff went out their way to assist me. My flight was delayed and I had to stay in Dublin for 2 extra days. I felt safe and well taken care of.

I think the price was really high but I think it went up due to the flight cancellations. Hopefully the airline covers it when I submit my receipt. But honestly, I would not have personally stayed there for $1000 a night. $500 yes.

Beautiful with great location. Staff very professional and the decor was very elegant and classic even down to the hallways. Love the private library bar. Great buffet. Paintings beautiful. Maintenance where an artist was making touchups on a buffet. Such detail in maintenance 👏🏻

The halls were cramped in the historic sections of the hotel. The AC wouldn't go up so it was a bit warm for my taste, but I like it cold.

We spent a wonderful weekend at this historic hotel. The service was excellent throughout, and we especially enjoyed the variety of restaurants and bars available on-site. The location is perfect—central, yet peaceful—which made our stay truly memorable. Highly recommended!

The only thing we didn’t like was the rather small size of our room. However, this was a minor issue compared to the overall quality of the experience.

We booked a deluxe king room, but it was underwhelming. The carpet was stained and the room just needed some TLC. There was a very strong smell of stale cigarette smoke - we could only suggest that this was coming from an outdoor terrace located beside our room. The terrace was not open to customers, but the smell of smoke was in the air con system and was more pronounced when we increased the fan. All in all, a very underwhelming stay. We have stayed at the hotels in the past, so this was a disappointing return.

Would not accommodate us checking in early.

Yet again, The Shelbourne delivered a memorable comforatble stay. When in Dublin it’s our home away from home.

Mixed feelings about this stay. Of course the hotel is beautiful with an exceptional location and excellent facilities on site .

There seemed to be a family of pigeons living somewhere either in the storage area or outside the bedroom window which really affected my sleep , weirdly. I have to say that the club sandwich I had at no. 27 bar was shockingly bad. Don’t ask how anyone could mess up a club sandwich, especially a 5 star hotel bar ?! Unfortunately my main complaint is the quality of early morning staff on check out. I checked out at 6.15 am on a Monday and was barely greeted by the male receptionist. I was never asked how my stay was, so I reminded him that he should ask this to guests, before letting him know about the pidgeon situation by my room . I would expect much more professional front desk service at a premier establishment like this, or any establishment for that matter !
