The residents bar closed at around 11.30 and we were told to go to one of the other bars however the hotel was extremely busy and there were no seats to be had.
I do think that the residents bar should have stayed open for residents

A classical gem - one of the nicest, coziest hotels on earth
This hotel is a gem. Worth the trip. How hotels should be, alive, glamorous, ethernal, elegant. One of the nicest hotels I have ever experienced. The staff is genuinely friendly. Everybody. We had a beautiful room with a beautiful bathroom. All bars and restaurants were charming. I want to go back!
The gym only opened at 8 on Saturday. Choice of TV channels limited. Both things not important.

Location, staff & view were fantastic! Hotel was very clean and well organised. There was always a member of staff to hand when required.
I couldn't get the temperature of the room right. It was either too hot or too cold. Pillows were too soft/thin (just personal preference though). Shower water pressure could of been better. Quality of the breakfast could of been better for the money even making an allowance that it was a buffet service. Whiskey bar upstairs was very brightly lit even late at night.

We knew we made the right choice when we found out afternoon tea was served and it was the highlight
Staff and service top notch, concierge exceptional, made our trip easy
Loved everything but wished dining would have opened earlier especially on weekend or have coffee in the lobby for us early birds!!!!

The perfect location. A lovely historic hotel.
A glorious location. Near St Stephen's green, and Grafton street.
We loved it but were surprised how cold the doormen were. They look wonderful in their uniforms but look bored. We were there several nights and they continued to reluctantly return our hellos...

The room was beautiful and spacious. The bed was super comfortable. The restaurant and bars had delicious food and drinks with excellent service.
Pool was your standard pool, a jacuzzi would have been a nice addition.

Beautiful hotel - the rooms are amazing and hotel has so much history and is truly stunning. Restaurants were amazing and afternoon tea was one of the best I have had. Can’t wait to visit again.

Beautiful old hotel in an excellent location but intercontinental in ballsbridge is a nicer hotel
Excellent location, good breakfast.
Room wasn’t ready at 3:00. Rooms are fine but on the smaller side. Tried to get concierge to help me book a difficult restaurant (I’ve had luck having nice hotels call in Barcelona, Paris, etc, but here they basically just told me what I already knew). I’m nitpicking but the shelbourne is the most famous hotel in Ireland!
