Kimpton Hotel George, Washington

Blowers for water damage were in the hallway outside our room. Created white noise, but they were very loud.

Usually love Kimptons. This one was really small, no restaurant or sundries, and showing big signs of wear. My bathroom had panels falling off. Kimptons are usually fancy. Staff was great tho and bed was comfy.

This was the 2nd time we stayed here. This is a wonderful hotel, I'd guess a little smaller than others, but with excellent facilities and a great location to walk to the Capitol and restaurants. It's got a funky George Washington theme decorated throughout. Comfy beds, nice clean sheets, large soft pillows, hot water. Our room each time faced the entrance street and we found it to be quiet, as was the hotel overall. Parking is in a nice well lit public lot right across the street that is accessed on foot by going into the lobby for CSPAN and CNBC. Looking forward to a return trip

The room and bathroom felt very dated. Slippers would’ve been nice. Construction was taking place during the night. A warning would’ve been nice whether that was on the website ahead of time, via email, or at the check in desk.

Literally a five minute walk from Union Station, cool hotel, friendly staff, close to the Smythsonian and central Washington monuments.

Rude staff! Told manager about the pm valet driver throwing the kegs at me because he was mad and nothing happened. Room service knocked on out door every two hours in the morning and our rooms bugs

The room was a nice size and it was a good location.

When we arrived we were told we no longer had a reservation, even though I had made one weeks ago. The woman at the desk said they tried to contact me - not true. My only correspondence confirmed the reservation. We were with a group and said we could not leave. Ultimately they magically found a room, but it was a lot of unnecessary stress and a pretty terrible way to be welcomed.

Great location for where we needed to go; friendly, warm staff, spacious room and bathroom.

Property is everything we needed it to be and also nothing more. Nothing not to like and it served the basic function. No big frills and seems a little shop worn but a lovely, efficient and very pleasant experience.

The location was great. I loved the decor of the room, and was very clean. Since I was by myself, safety was a huge concern to me. This hotel made me feel safe and secure. :) I also received a text to make sure the room was to my satisfaction or if there was anything I needed. That is a great customer service tactic!

The location of the hotel was absolutely perfect as it was super close to Union Station. The coffee available in the morning was quite nice and I loved how clean the room was. The staff were all very pleasant and the beds are super comfortable.

Great location, a beautiful boutique hotel with a restaurant and happy hour in the lobby with wine 5:00 to 6:00 everyday. Coffee to go in the morning. Nice spacious room and a bathtub and a shower and a microwave and a fridge. We were really set up nicely.

As a tea drinker, it's always a little challenging to feel seen at hotels. Could have used some hot water and real big coffee mugs. But honestly that's the only thing I can think of!

Presidential Suite is very comfortable, spacious, great value. Restaurant serves generous and very delicious plates, food is better than expected. All staff members were very attentive and polite.

No room service, restaurant closed on Sundays.

The staff were friendly and helpful. It was easy to walk to the Smithsonian museums which we love and a walk to the train station.

The restaurant is very good but not open on Sunday. I would have liked to have breakfast at the hotel.

the bathroom door was a sliding door and it would frequently get stuck. the parking was listed at $55 per day and the charge at checkout was $64.90 per day.

The wine hour was wonderful. Ephrem, the server, was gracious and nice to talk to. It was nice to talk to other guests.

The room was dark and we looked out onto a small enclosed courtyard. Our view was of a brick wall.

Rooms were thoughtfully designed with all the things that make an extended stay more comfortable. I appreciated the room layout (having the bed around the corner from the door, so light doesn't shine right on sleeping guests through the peep hole and door cracks), the fact there were towel hooks in the right places for reaching easily from the shower, the power outlets in the bedside lamps, the magnifying mirror in the bathroom, as well as the complimentary coffee. Rooms were quiet and comfortable.

The staff was fantastic. Daniel at the front desk checked us in and out and was exceedingly personable. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The king bed was very comfortable. It was a nice room with good amenities. Front desk sells wine too. Plus there are two bars / restaurants nearby for a cold beer after a hot summer day walking around DC.

The bathroom doors do not close - they slide and there is space between the slide door and the wall so it is not a good room for couples. You can hear everything going on in the bathroom. Also my view - well we had no view - we looked out to a brick wall and other rooms. Great location, but my room had zero view, disappointing. Although we went for a walk at night and there is a great view of the Capitol right around the corner.

Bar and restaurant closed at 9 PM on a Saturday night. Hotel had a terrible smell in the lobby that I just couldn’t get over. must be using some type of cleaning product that has quite a foul odor

The decor was beautiful! It was a treat to come “home” to this hotel, decorated in a stylish George Washington theme, after exploring the city all day. The beds were comfortable—nice pillows and sheets. The room we were in was larger that we’d expected, with a good-sized bathroom. The lobby was gorgeous and welcoming. The staff was friendly and helpful. There’s a charming Irish pub around the corner where we ate dinner with our kids and a Corner Bakery on the other side of the building. We loved our stay!

We only wished the tv had Netflix or Pay per View. Maybe it did and we just didn’t see it.

Food and service was excellent

The staff at the hotel were absolutely wonderful!! Everyone was very friendly, kind, & welcoming!! The lobby was a very nice place to use for relaxing and having a cup of coffee.

We had issues with the toilet not flushing with enough force, but we got a credit for the problem. The shower was weak, it needed more pressure.

The staff were incredibly nice and helpful with early check-in and bag storage. They also promptly fixed an issue we had with the pull out sofa bed.

The location was not ideal for family nighttime outings. Food options were also limited in the evenings.
