Hotel Amoy by Far East, Singapore

Its history and it was intriguing and unusual. Perfectly located for Chinatown, the River and the Bay.

It's a little hard to find.

The hotel staff Thomas was exceptional, so much charm in the lobby and front area. Super cute and nice location.

Lots of very long winding hallways to find your room, and there's no drinking water in sight. The place was definitely overpriced for the services and size.

At first sight, the place made a very good impression. It is nicely furnished and thoughtfully decorated, giving the apartment a lot of character and a warm atmosphere. The location is very central, which made it easy to reach everything. The metro is right next to the hotel, which makes getting around the city very convenient. Despite being in such a central area, it is situated in a very quiet zone, so the nights were peaceful and silent.

The apartments could be cleaned better. There were centimeters of dust behind the bed, and there was black mold in the bathroom. The mold may be difficult to avoid due to the hot and humid conditions, especially since the windows in the rooms cannot be opened. This means that moisture and steam from the bathroom stays in the room. The rooms are also rather small and could benefit from having wardrobes or more storage space...

The staff were exceptional in every possible way. They were friendly, went out of their way to be helpful. The room was compact, but we'll appointed and cozy. And, the building itself has real personality.

I have mobility issues and the first room I was shown had stairs leading to the bathroom which would have been difficult for me. The staff switched my room to one with no stairs in it.

Part museum, part hotel, the staff were the outstanding gems in this property. Nothing was too much trouble and their pride in their workplace was obvious

Perfect location, right next to MRT and lots of cool restaurants, walking distance to both downtown and chinatown. checkout was noon!

Great location and the fact that it was part of an historical building added to its charm and authenticity.

There is an independent cafe/restaurant located off the reception space which has nothing to do with the hotel; it would be so much better for guests to be able to use this for breakfast, coffee and other meals rather than having to leave the hotel to eat at another establishment across the road.

Wonderful stay within walking distance of a huge food court and the gardens by the bay complex. Really comfortable, friendly staff, would definitely stay here again!

Storage for clothes. I was there for 4 nights and it would have been nice to be able to unpack properly and store clothes somewhere.

MRT station literally across the road. Reception area is an old building , unusual in SG. Good location.

No real complaints. Towel swapped even though I left it hanging which I thought meant can leave it in room. But this isn’t a biggie

Very cute hotel in a super accesible area. Small bedrooms but vey confortable, clean and quiet. Staff was very friendly and ready to help.

The coffee machine was not working and one night the AC had a leak. Im sure hotel staff would have taken care of it, but I only stayed 2 nights.

Th breakfast was good, liked the room layout especially the high ceilings made the room feel spacious. Very good for one person.

Unable to connect tv to Netflix, and maybe a better view. The layout of the rooms little confusing.

The staff were a stand out at this property. They were so warm and welcoming and very professional. The extra little touches of welcome and farewell gifts were so lovely. This property is perfect for solo travellers - the small but well appointed were ideal. The location was excellent - right across the right from the MRT and walking distance to China Town. The unique entrance to the hotel through the temple (now used as a museum displaying antiques) was another lovely touch. Breakfast was adequate for starting the day off.
Would certainly stay here again when returning to Singapore.

Prior to our arrival I had a bit of trouble with communication with reservations when confirming some personal details. Only a minor issue though.

Excellent location close to Chinatown and the MRT. The room was a nice change from the standard hotel style accommodation. Breakfast was included and to be had in a neighboring cafe / restaurant. We were able to shower and freshen up before our flight home at The Clan Hotel next door. This option was volunteered to us by the friendly and helpful staff and was most appreciated.

Our room did not have a window so we lost track of time and slept in on the day of our departure. Fortunately check out time was 12pm, so we still had time to have breakfast, pack and check out.

A boutique hotel in a great location. Everything you needed in the quirky room. Staff were excellent and helped in every way possible. We will be back AAA+++

Quirky and quaint! Very clean. Warm welcome from the lovely hotel staff. Amazing location with restaurants and bars on doorstep. Very close to an MRT station!

Whilst the accommodation is lovely and modern, the corridors and rooms feel a little tired. But the hotel experience overall was great.

Excellent location, the room was extremely boutique and was a wonderful experience to stay in. The included breakfast was wonderful and met beyond my expectations.
The best part was the MRT right next to the hotel, could travel to the corners of the city with ease.

The location and the ambient. It is a very nice small hotel.

Some noise from the bars in the nearby alley can be heard at night. Not that bad, but it could be a problem for some.

There were steps that made it difficult to move luggage and access areas of the room. Steps to climb to the bathroom. Steps down to the sleeping area.

I love staying at boutique hotels when traveling and this one didn’t disappoint. Housed in a building that formerly held a temple, it provides Chinese themed rooms, super comfortable and original. Breakfast is provided at a cafe across the street.

Breakfast is very good but doesn’t offer a lot of choice (1 coffee, 1 orange juice, and 1 dish).

The location in between china town and Gardens by tye Bay made this an excellent choice for a short stay. Good and drinking on the door step. The room was compact but made exceptional use of space adding character without compromising comfort. Staff very friendly and helpful

The level of noise from the street due to being in the heart of a drinking area. Ear plugs provide if needed. However it added to character of the place. This was out of the hotels hands and as the building was original I suspect building requirements prevented sound proofing

The location of the hotel is very original, since it is located in an old former warehouse. It is super quiet although in an interesting location and close to all facilities. Staff was also fantastic! Many thanks.

I got lost trying to exit.

Property very convenient, basically had adjacent entry to underground for easy access. Centrally located to local eateries. Concierge staff, especially Sheirly was fantastic. Sheirly knew we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and she went out of her way with a sign and flowers along with a small cake to welcome us.
