The Godfrey Hotel, Chicago

The room was clean and spacious

The restaurant was closed so there was no option for morning coffee or refreshments. The rooftop is great, but kids are not really allowed up there so the food options in the hotel are very limited.

The area it aas in was super clean and everyone waa so friendly.

I did not like how the walls and doors seemed a bit thin, I could hear the conversation of every guest talking as they passed our room, even with the shower running and tv on.

Hotel staff were great, a really nice spacious and comfortable room, and fantastic terrace bar.

There wasn't a coffee shop in the hotel or room service available.

Nice area everything eas easily walkable. good size room and bathroom. comfy beds.

one of the lifts was broken so had to wait for lifts. ice machine on our floor wasn't working for 2 days. no iron in thr room.Told reception and was delivered another ironing board.

The value was great, definitely a higher end hotel than what I was expecting and the beds were comfortable and the staff was always accommodating. I felt safe and comfortable

We got told we were on a waitlist to check in to our room and waited two hours after flying all night, then I went up to check on our room and a different said one had actually been available for a while and we were never on a waitlist.

I liked the location and it was clean. They held onto our luggage.

I didn't like hearing all the road noise and the lack of priority to be able to sit by the rooftop bar. The brunch was overpriced even for Chicago with a 21% mandatory service charge and lot of added extra fees in general that I would consider "junk". Wish they had a water fountain.

The elevator was kinda loud, and the lady that checked me in seemed a little done with the day.

Street noise at night was really loud - difficult to sleep.

The location was perfect for what I had to do in Chicago. Also the rooftop lounge was a perfect setting to celebrate after my best friend’s wedding. I didn’t make a reservation in advance and luckily they were able to seat us anyway, even on a holiday weekend.

No pool

The check-in was at 4pm but as the room were ready we were able to enter the room around 9am. This was a great surprise as we just arrived from a 10 hour flight and appreciate the bedroom earlier.

The ice available only on the even floors. I was at the 8 floor and the machine wasn't working there, so I need to go 2 floors looking for ice.

Good location, very nice and good size rooms

The elevator situation is a mess. You have to scan your card to get to the floor you need. It was a group of 15 of us and everyone was put on a different floor after we called asking to be put on the same floor. The entire stay felt like we just kept calling each other to come get us and this was really annoying and inconvenient:

Bed was comfortable and hotel is relatively quiet. It was close to everything

Front of house staff - no one smiled or greeted us when we came in. Thursday night front dest was ok, but the rest of the weekend it looked like everyone hated their job and didn't want to be there or talk to anyone. I would work on that. I was struggling with my luggage rack (I'm in a boot due to a broken foot) and not one staff member in the lobby asked if I needed help. The "gatekeepers" for the rooftop bar were great as well as our server Miranda. She was outstanding!

I did not like the $100 hold on my account then at checkout you tell me you going to take amenities out of the money. Very disappointed.

Love the rooftop even in the cooler months

We had a king bed room. The view was lovely. And the location was great it just down the block from target. The I/O bar on the 4th floor was trendy and cool.

The only think i didn't really care for was the sent of the soaps. The scent is more on the masculine side but the shampoo is delightful.

Service to order taxi didn't work ,and I was late for the concert that I came to Chicago for.

The urban fee. Feels like a way to have a lower rate to book for a fairer price but then you get hit with and addition 25 per night. Not cool.

Beautiful room, comfy beds.

We were unable to change the temperature of the room, the thermostat was locked. We woke up overheated in the middle of the night and it affected my sleep.

Location was very nice (lots of different things around) and within walking distance, we parked with Valet (in and out services- its just better to upgrade to that). Room was nice along with a beautiful view

Staff didnt explain too much when I was checking in- tried to let front desk know about wanting Valet and they told me to handle that with them. Valet for what I paid for- didn't really explain anything as well. I had to ask the next morning at the front desk how to pay- and they said it was already added to my account (which no one mentioned when I was checking in) When checking in, the front desk person didn't say what floor I was on (just handed me my room key along with the room number). Room was nice but weirdly shaped. Bathroom door almost hits toilet so not a lot of room in the bathroom (for two people).

Additional comment.. the Dj on the rooftop was horrible. No one was dancing and he literally played techno all night long. We requested a birthday song for the person we were there to celebrate and it was techno as well. No one was dancing and all looked completely bored. Please adjust or rotate your dj or tell him to play to his crowd just a little Without the techno music. I felt like I was at a rave party. 😪

location was excellent, the hotel had apt of amenities and the bathroom was spacious, bed was comfy. Room came with a coffee bar and a refrigerator and an amazing view!!! I’ll be rebooking here the next time I’m in Chicago.

I didnt like that $52 dollars for self parking and you could not take your car in and out the lot.
