This might be the best hotel I have ever stayed in. All was clean and fresh and light. The staff was very kind and helpful. The breakfast very good with lot’s of choices, good coffee and in a beautiful room.

I cannot think of anything

Excellent location, super quiet rooms (didn't hear a thing, literally). Also good are the pantries on each floor, providing fruit, tea, a kettle etc and a space to sit.

There's not much space in the bathroom to put your stuff, but that's being very picky.

The Great Northern has the feel of a stylish boutique hotel, with cozy rooms that maximise space and incredibly comfortable beds. The rooms are also unbelievably well soundproofed and there is vitality no noise from outside.

Location is incredible - 2 mins to Kings Cross, 3 mins over the road to St Pancras. It’s also near to great restaurants and bars. The rooms are a bit small (you expect that in London), but beautifully decorated. The Pantry at the end of each corridor is a great idea and it’s full of drink and snack options (fruit, pastries, breakfast bars etc). Bathroom is also lovely.

Bed was very firm - I personally don’t mind that but it surprised me. Anyone with a bad back or who liked to sink in even a little would likely find it a bit uncomfortable. There is a small but very bright light in the bathroom (which has glass doors) that is controlled by a switch next to the bed. It’s not a bad thing but it took me hours to figure it out and it stopped me getting to sleep. Not the hotel’s fault but if you’re looking for it, the switch is next to the bed

Excellent location right next to St Pancras and King's Cross. Immaculately clean rooms. Boutique decor was really nice and unique. Corridors were wide and spacious - unusual for a London hotel. Pantry at the end of the corridors was a nice touch with tea, coffee, biscuits and fruit. Surprisingly comfy desk and corner sofa area was good for work. Serenaded with opera singing coming from the station next door. Despite being in such a busy, noisy area the windows blocked out all of the noise at night. Staff were very helpful and even knocked on my door to deliver more water and asked if everything was okay. Quick room service and friendly customer service.

The building is easy to find, but the hotel entrance and reception is a little trickier. English breakfast without any baked beans!

everything was good however the room looks bigger in the photos online, and the only other thing there were not any good tv channels on the tv , no regular tv which wasn’t good, but everything else was great

Very friendly reception and my room was very quiet, which was remarkable considering you're next to the station.

Breakfast starting at 7 is quite late, especially with early trains. A place like this should start at 6.30 at least, especially during week days.

Friendly staff, lovely lounges and very clean.

Pillows too soft

Room was very clean and comfortable. Towels were lovely and fluffy. Robes included too. Nice touch having the pantry room at the end of each corridor.

We thought it a bit odd that there is a coffee machine in the room but no tea making facilities. We only found out that there was the pantry at the end of the corridor by a google search. There was no mention on check in or information in the room. It was nice to have that but would still have been better to have a kettle and tea bags in the room as is common in the UK.

The staff were extremely helpful and polite. They provided us with a happy birthday message in the room which was a lovely touch. I would definitely stay here again!

Spacious room for London, lovely amenities including a pantry with coffee facilities and treats. Our bags were taken up to our room whilst we were out and our bed was turned down which were nice touches. Comfy bed and pillows and quiet.

The only criticism I have is the lack of luggage storage for bags once you have checked out and left them for the day. Our bags along with many others were placed in a corner by the reception desk rather than in a secure luggage room.

There really wasn’t anything I didn’t like

Location-wise, this place is unbeatable, if you're travelling to or from St Pancras or Kings Cross. The bed and pillows were very comfy, the tv set-up was exceptional and the the bathroom was lovely and had a great shower. Complementary tee, coffee, fruit and sweets were a nice touch.

For a 5-star hotel and for the price one pays, it just misses the mark - one easily pays a lot less, for more, in virtually any other place in the world.

This was super-well located for an early train out of Kings Cross. The room was lovely. Very well thought out, from little lights in the bathroom so you could see at night, to switches to turn things on and off in bed. I loved the Nespresso machine in the room and there was another and kettle in the Pantry, at the end of the hallway, along with fruit and cakes. The team were so helpful as I am on crutches and they took my case to my room, and helped at check in and out. They also helped me with a late check out as I no longer needed to get the 5am train and a room upgrade! The price is good for the quality of accommodation and service, and very good for the convenient location. I will rebook here when I next have an early or late arrival into/out of Kings Cross.

I can’t think of anything I didn’t like! Breakfast was a little pricey but delicious!

These guys have nailed the 5* experience - wonderful staff, helpful, place is immaculate, comfortable, food was delicious, everything was fuss-free but luxury service. We ate in the restaurant for lunch and also had a coffee next day in the 'station' bar. We stayed in one of the bigger rooms and loved the view out to St Pancras, high windows and lovely style touches. Shower was hot and high pressure, there was even a pantry at the end of the corridor to make a cup of tea and a little cake nibble. All in all this has become our favourite hotel in London!

We couldn't work out the aircon controls and therefore could have done with an extra quilt on the bed but nothing serious.
