Location was great, beds big and comfy and excellent shower…..rooms a little small

Rooms were a little small, no coffee machine

Beach set-up was fantastic - it didn’t feel as sanitised / private (obviously as the beach itself is public) which was nice. The staff were excellent - thank you Caio and Leo! Bar food was good. Restaurant food was exceptional quality, and the staff were very friendly. Reception staff were lovely. Bedding was super comfortable - loved the Scandinavian duvet set up. Bathroom was excellent - body lotion etc.

These are not big notes, just genuine feedback. Maybe it’s impossible to match the PortoBay “boutique” style in a 20 floor Copacabana city hotel, but I think some of it can be easily addressed. The sliding balcony doors were very difficult to work, felt like they easily let breeze in unless it was perfectly locked. Restaurant service was mixed. We ate two nights, the first at around 19:15 and the second at 20:30. Our experience the first night was great but the second was quite mixed. I’m guessing due to the slightly later time the tables had been set for breakfast - however 20:30 is not late for a Brazilian dinner and even if you wish to set for breakfast, just leave the window tables set up for dinner.. you’ll have to reset after we use the cutlery anyway: - cotton napkin in a wooden ring holder replaced by a tissue napkin - wooden placemat replaced by paper placemat. - no wine glasses set It just wasn’t a very nice experience. It was compounded by the waiter forgetting several things, e.g. ice and lemon in sparkling water, even though it was specifically requested. The room was missing some basic things: - luggage rack - no complimentary water or local snack - there were no coffees, just 2x camomile and 2x black tea. These were never replaced and on the last night we went to make 2 cups of tea but only had one teabag between us.. The coffee/tea station in general seemed to get completely overlooked - twice we had dirty cups left unreplaced. Keep a water fountain in the lobby. The gym is on the 20th floor. It also just means the vibe is brought down as you have people drinking from big 1.5L bottles at the pool since they can’t refill. The lifts are a pain. Spent a lot of time waiting. Ground floor, fifth floor restaurant, twentieth floor pool. Being on the 12th felt eternally like we were waiting to go down. At one point the bar staff were loudly opining on European issues with migration.

Most of the reception staff were friendly and helpful. Cleaning team were always polite and would greet you. Facilities were great. Roof top bar view was fantastic

I made a reservation for a room with a balcony and a side sea view. The room was the one most remote from the beach and the view was the building in front of me. I had make an extra effort, even at the balcony, to view the sea. There were no other available rooms and upgrading to a room with a full sea view was highly expensive. No room with a “side view” allows viewing the sunrise, I wouldn’t pay the extra cost for this room type

We loved the friendly staff, who gave us a very warm welcome, the extremely comfy beds, the tasty breakfast and of course the location. You couldn't wish for a better spot to be when in Rio, right in front of Copacabana and with a lovely pool and terrace overlooking the beach and the Christ the Redeemer.

Staff were helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived. They helped us to organise a room for an early checking, help Book activities, advise on timings to and from destinations and went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The location is exceptional. You're right on Copacabana Beach. There is a taxi rank on the corner for days out. Excellent room service and rooftop bar. We used the spa and the gym too which were one of the best I've seen in a hotel. The views are incredible! I'd recommend having some cocktails on the roof and breakfast in the morning. We loved our stay so much we've booked to stay again.

There isn't anything I didn't like nor is there anything I'd change.

Very efficient staff, all friendly staff. The reception staff were very helpful and also gave good advice when we asked them questions. The room was comfortable and still had a good view of the beach. The hotel is central to a lot of great restaurants and 45 mins walking distance from Ipanema beach and restaurants. Would definitely be back, we visited in the winter season (August) so will be back before the summer heat begins. The restaurant staff were attentive, i regret I didn't ask the name of the staff who was very helpful and friendly.

The shower temperature was difficult to control and the Manuel shower head kept moving around when on.

The location is in front of Copacabana beach. There are many restaurants nearby. The breakfast was excellent with good choices of frutis, hot and cold food. The breakfast room has good view of the beach. The staff was friendly. Room size was adequate. The hotel had the service to set up beach chairs on the beach but I did not use the service.

Amazing hotel with an amazing staff ! The food is also really great and the bar / rooftop is a nice addition. The neighborhood is full of cool restaurants too

The breakfast was included in the rate according with the guy making our check-in however the lady at the breakfast room had other information that it was not. She refused allowing me to have the breakfast only if I sign the charge for it. I refused to confront her & decided not to have it during my stay.

Breakfast was great, although it was very crowded on some peak hours. the sapce in the restaurant is not big enough some times. Beach service very friendly

The room was a little noisy at night. AC did not heat, on winter nights in Rio, you might need higer temperature for spleeping. Balcony has no view

Location, size of the room, gym, balcony and breakfast were all good! After I asked for it, we received complimentary bottles of water in our room. Lot of fruits at the breakfast. I would even choose this over Copacabana Palace.

The lady at the breakfast called Iris could be more welcoming instead of paying attention at her nails or her phone. The breakfast room was very noisy, I would suggest placing notice reduction material under the tables. Pool was not heated. We missed a soul with a lack of for example art or plants.

The hotel staff were great and very friendly. The location was awesome - right across the street from Copacabana Beach!

Please do not give people who are 63+ years old a room with a bathtub/shower combination that you have to cross over to get into. Elderly people (really anyone) will injure themselves in this type of slippery bathroom setup.

I have only 2 points of feedback. 1. A married mirror in bathroom would be perfect 2. If they could heat the pool for offseason travellers that would be ideal. It was way too cold in July. None of used it

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, room was spacious and very clean and comfortable. The breakfast room was beautiful and the pool had great views of copacabana, Cristo Redentor and the Sugar Loaf mountain. There is also a beach service where you get some deck chairs on Copacabana outside the hotel and they will get your drinks and food and can watch your things while you go for a swim.

Not many sunbeds in the sun but might be the winter sun.

The room was not enough clean. The towels were not clean.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff and great facilities. The hotel has a lovely pool on the roof with a panoramic view of Rio. The balcony from the room has a view of Copacobanna beach.

They definitely have a bit of a moisture problem in the bathroom. I thought that the food was not great, and the room service could have a better menu.

The breakfasts were amazing — great variety and delicious options every day. The location is perfect, just a few steps from the beach. There’s also excellent service available directly on the beach, which made relaxing even easier.

The blanket was too thin — it got a bit chilly at night and wasn’t very comfortable.

We had a wonderful time at PortoBay Rio. They are perfectly located on the Copacabana Bay Promenade. Lovely spacious room and bathroom. Excellent views in the room and then also at the rooftop pool and bar. The breakfast is excellent - they were able to accommodate vegetarians on their special menu (ask the wait staff for the vegan menu). Staff are friendly, especially Alice, at the front desk.

There is room for improvement when it comes to housekeeping - used teacups weren't cleared away after each day.

The hotel is in a great location. Rooms are spacious and with a balcony. Breakfast was superb, lots of variety and very delicious. Staff in the breakfast room had great energy and were amazing.

There are some connected rooms. We got one of those. So we shared a door with another room which was occupied by another couple. Very loud couple. We could hear everything and this made us very uncomfortable and ruined our experience in the hotel. I think the hotel should have a policy not to put 2 couples in these connected rooms. Other than this, everything else was quite amazing.

Location is perfect right in the middle of Copacabana beach - we found the beach clean and full of families easy to rent an umbrella and chairs - although the hotel has free ones with towels, but we didn't find those until the 3rd day, also if you want to swim together they will look after valuables the beds were amazingly comfy - seemed like new mattresses with a deep integral topper it was lovely to have a balcony - to dry out swimming costume the breakfast was literally amazing - everything you could possibly want and the staff very friendly and efficient the reception staff were very friendly and helpful loved the rooftop bar and pool - live music one evening I saw a review that felt the streets behind the hotel didn't feel safe we didn't find that at all

The hot water for the shower was either too hot or too cold no medium not sure if it was just my room. I never got round to raising the issue with the hotel or staff. I just managed it. You can't adjust the heating or air conditioning it is a flat temperature for each room

It is located at Copacabana beach front. The room has a perfect view of the ocean. The hotel offers all support for beach families fun like, sun umbrella, towels, chairs, toys. You can order food and drinks while relaxing in the beach and they bring from the hotel restaurant to you. The roof top has good a pool and amazing bar. It was a perfect stay.
