We loved our stay here! Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Upon arrival they offered some sparkling wine which made us feel very welcome. The room was beautiful and clean, air conditioning worked perfectly. The bed was huge (I think it’s listed as queen size but it felt more king size, unless we got a room upgrade we didn’t know about) and comfortable. Breakfast buffet is delicious with lots of options. I especially enjoyed the banana with muesli and honey. The rooftop and pool area are very enjoyable. They serve good food, good cocktails and there are more than enough sunbeds so you don’t need to come very early to occupy one. Our country was playing a football match in the European Championships and they were so kind to let us watch it on the big tv near the pool. Unfortunately we lost :(. Our special regards for Wellington, he is extremely nice and accommodating! Always lovely conversations with him. In conclusion, we would love to come back to Portobay when we are in Rio next time.

The staff was incredible and so hospitable. We liked the incredible breakfast buffet every morning and the view of copacabana beach from the restaurant. We also loved the rooftop bar and pool and the incredible vistas of Rio!

Fantastic location, right on the Copacabana. The hotel has an enviable rooftop pool and bar and the staff are incredibly helpful.

Rooms are a touch tired, overall no complaints, but the bathroom especially is a bit rough around the edges.

Great location, amazing breakfast! Dedicated beach area with security right across from the hotel. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Highly recommend staying here!

Cleaning services: Sometimes they forget to put out toilet paper and toilet mats. One day, they even removed the shower gel!

The shower had some drain issues that were reported to the staff but did not got fixed

The room smelt very musty

This was a super comfortable stay. I was there for a free Madonna's concert at Copacana beach with my mother. The view was amazing, and the staff, wonderful. They were extremely friendly and and attentive. Special thanks to incredible Thaís and Helda, who do an exceptional job!

The PortoBay is on the Copacabana beach strip, if we had been there a week later we could have watched the Madonna concert from our balcony as the stage was directly opposite. The location is fabulous. The roof top bar is stunning with views up to Christ the Redeemer and from every angle are breath taking and the PortoBay team are really helpful.

Room was a little tired but this is reflected in the price as with the stunning views and closeness to the beach a lot more could be charged if the decor was brand new.

Location is amazing , we got upgraded to a side sea view, friendly staff at reception and at breakfast.

Beach sun loungers were fold away chairs. Would have been nice to be able to lie down. The lift didn’t feel the safest.
