Novotel Leme, Rio de Janeiro

We had a 5 day stay with our family.

The location was great, with the beach nearby and easy to order taxis in front of the door.

Breakfast was of good quality with enough variety to stay interesting during our stay. The rooms with bathrooms were in good shape. We used the pool on the roof once, it’s big enough to cool down and be in the water, not really enough for swimming but the kids enjoyed it.

Staff were super pleasant and always ready to help. I would stay there again.

The location in Leme was ideal for us, just a short walk away from the beach, views of Christ the Redeemer and more. The room was a good size with a comfortable bed and nice shower. Breakfast was included and had a good range (a lot of cake which was a shock for us). The sky bar was so nice, and organised a drag show on the day that lady gaga performed. Room service was okay, but we did have a bit of a language barrier as we couldnt speak portugeuse, so did end up with the wrong product but they were quick and happy to correct it. The majority of the reception staff were friendly.

Only problem with the bed was that they didnt change the pillow cases even after they had stains on. The room didnt have much of a view (we were on the 13th floor, 16th+ probably could see the ocean). We were told that the gym was open 24/7 where we could get cold and filtered water from, but they closed the elevator and entrance to it at 10pm.

Great location, a block from the beach, restaurants and supermarkets in walking distance, taxis available right outside. Area felt safe. Great views from the rooftop pool, good selection for breakfast, rooms were comfortable. Good value.

Very well run facility where you can work effectively and relax by the amazing pool. The rooms are stylish and functional.

I would have liked a desk in the room but overall a very good option for business travel.

Noise from next room can be hear clearly which is very hard to sleep.

This hotel is probably great for kids/families, the amenities are on a floor that is only accessible by stairs as not all elevators go to all floors, and are not available 24/7. The building, while arguably maintained just alright, is pretty old. Wish more basic services (such as water) were made available in the room.

The gym is a good size and well used so maybe more equipment would be good.
Two slow elevators for a very large and popular hotel meant quite delayed to get up and down

Very clean and spacious rooms, breakfast was nice.

It wasn’t beachfront and checking in was difficult with lanuage barrier

The roof top pool area was clean and had great views which made up for the lack of a view from our room.
The hotel also provide you with towels, chairs and a parasol to take onto the beach.
The staff on reception were very helpful and printed out my voucher for our visit to Christ the Redeemer.
Breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice and variety.
The rooms were cleaned daily to a good standard.

Due to its position there aren’t many rooms with a full on sea view…we had room 1710 which had a partial side on sea view.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was amazing. The location is easy to access the beach and everything else by Uber was quick and easy.

The pillows weren’t very good and menu options for kids were quite limited.

The air is smelly because you can’t change air at least once per day … the aisle are really hot without air conditioners

Maids skipped our room one day, we had a dripping problem in the bathroom that wasn’t corrected, check-in was not welcoming in the least.

The location is amazing, very lively street with excellent options for lunch and dinner. Staff is very friendly. I went for the Marathon and they opened the breakfast several hours earlier (at 4am) than usual, that was really cool. The rooms are good, however a bit small for a Novotel (no desk). We used the Cowork space which is good but would be even better if it was more sound isolated. Overall, a great option.

The room could have more amenities, such as a desk.

We had breakfast and lunch, everything was delicious.

Our room (on level 18) was really close to the lift that takes up to the bar, so lots of people and noise till around 11pm. My partner and I go to bed early, that's why we noticed it. Everything else during our stay was great.

The rooftop bar and view was amazing. The bed so comfortable. Great location. Loads of breakfast choices to choose from.

The breakfast was good, lots of options, but the hot food was a bit cold, room very good. The location was perfect for what I wanna do!!!

The hotel was full... not enough space in the roof top, and the elevatiors wasn't enough too!!!

The location of the hotel is good, just one street from the Leme beach. It is convenient to go to the beach, walk along the promenade to other famous beaches or take a taxi to visit Rio's main attractions. Compared to other hotels in the area, Novotel Leme offers excellent value for money. The staff at breakfast was very friendly and attentive. The rooms are specious with a huge bed and enough space to open the suitcases. I recommend the hotel and will book again for my next stay in Rio.

Nothing to complain about, we had an excellent stay. The only remark, it would have been helpful to have a few extra hooks in the suite bathroom since we are a family of four and lacked space to hang the towels.

Every day, at least 3 times elevator cards stopped working.
Elevators were really extremely annoying thing. Especially if room is on 16tg floor.

Great location in Leme at Copacabana nearby the tunnel to Botafogo (nearby bike rental available). Friendly, helpful and efficient staff at check-in and check-out. Good, fresh breakfast - some windows in breakfast room with sea view. Ca. 100 meters to the beach - hotel is not located in the first row, but in the second row. Nice roof-top bar and restaurant with view and a small pool. Spacious guest room. Good value for money.

Not possible to open the windows of my guest room - no fresh air in room. Pillows not soft, not comfortable pillows.

The location is terrific! Jut cross the road and you are by the beach. There is also a lovely cafe across the street that serves vegan food and coffee with an oat milk option (it is hard to find in Rio). The Afro-Brazilian restaurant next door is also a MUST try. During carnival, having ghe pool/rooftop was a blast. They had live music and lots of drinks/food to choose from. It could get crowded/a bit small but it was nice to have. Lots of Uber bike stations around, so you can grab a bike and go easily. Free beach chairs and umbrellas are also available. Breakfast is delicious

The rooms need an upgrade or the price of the hotel. Very old and bathrooms need to be modernized and updated. There NEEDS to be more elevators. Literally you could be waiting 5-10 mins for an elevator and only one goes directly to the rooftop. Also, kitchen NEEDS to buy milk alternatives like oat and soy. The price of this hotel and international clientele demands it.

- The way how they charge for stay. Booking price was US$1,454 including taxes (card was added to booking account). But they insisted to pay via their terminal and cost was US$1,673.05 including taxes. I have no idea why I was charged extra US$220
- A lot of ants in the room. They are everywhere... In the bathroom, in the room, on all tables.
- Problems with elevators. During breakfast you can wait up to 20 minutes for available elevator.

+ Main plus of this hotel is its location: Leme is such a nice, safe, rather residential neighbourhood where you have a good mixture of locals and tourists, the walk to the beach is about two minutes, shops and restaurants nearby
+ all important places easy to reach by uber or bike
+ rooftop pool and bar
+ good breakfast
+ fully equipped minibar in the room

- for the price, the room is rather basic, but totally ok

The hotel is modern, clean and well located. Breakfast had lots of options and good quality. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

There is no parking available, and the nearest paid parking lot was full. The elevators are not integrated, so people call both at the same time, making unnecessary trips and causing delays

Location is superb; good breakfast, included in price; nice terrace on top with pool and spectacular views; great staff.

Room a bit on the small side; terrace bar a bit too expensive, although nothing dramatic.

Liked the location of the hotel, just a stones throw from the beach.

Staff were friendly and beds were massive.

Breakfast was crazy busy.
There was an event on which means we weren't able to book a space on the rook terrace. As this was the main reason we booked his hotel - we were very disappointed that we hadn't been made aware of this.


Also the lifts aren't fit for purpose.

I liked the staff, the bed was really good , and the room was as expected , the breakfast was really good too,

Well it needs some renovation in the rooms , some soundproofing for sure and then in general some of the toilet furnitures were rusty.
