Fairmont Royal York Hotel, Toronto

We were travelling by Via so a super easy transition from Union to the hotel, the ACC for the Leaf game and a visit to the Hockey Hall of Fame. The hotel rotunda and main floor corridors were beautifully decorated for the Christmas holiday season. The concierge was most helpful and very polite!!

Fantastic and kind staff, and the location is nice.

For the price paid for the room, it looked dated and the view of an office building and a loading dock wasn’t the desirable view one would want.

Everything was great my husband and had a wonderful experience at the motel. Thank you again

The Fairmont Royal York hotel is situated in a great location to explore Toronto. You are in walking distance from the CN Tower and Rogers Centre across the street from Union Station. The hotel itself is very grand and steeped in history. Photos and signatures from Queen Elizabeth are on display in the lobby area. Our trip was just before Christmas where the decoration display will rival anywhere. The rooms are spacious, clean and modern. Our room on the 10th floor had a partial lake and CN Tower view. Bathrooms were modern, ours only had a shower which suited us fine. Room service was quick and the food excellent.

As the hotel is a landmark to Toronto there are a lot of people congregating in the lobby areas making videos for social media which can be a bit problematic when trying to get in and out of the hotel. It was also a bit frustrating that we could not get access to any of the hotel bars as these were fully booked. As a hotel guest I feel we should have preference to these amenities. If you will be using the bars in the hotel it may be worth checking if reservations are required.

The property itself was magnificent and very clean!

Getting on the elevators was a pain in the ass! They don’t really tell you how they work. It’s very confusing!

Disappointed that the pool was not available as I'd booked it for that facility.

The room was well-appointed and the bed was very comfortable. We really appreciated the complementary coffee (Nespresso) and that there was a kettle in addition to the coffee machine available.

The only thing about the Fairmont Royal York is that the rooms, especially the bathrooms are on the small side - beautiful, but small.

The service in the Reign bar and Clockwork bar is absolutely awful!

We loved our experience at the RYH the staff treated us exceptionally well. They surprised us with a treat and a bottle of bubbly in our room for my birthday which was very well received!

The location was close to everything. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holiday season. The room and hotel were clean. We enjoyed having a drink and snack in the center bar and had breakfast in Reign.

Three of us stayed in the room and there was only 2 bath robes and slippers.

Everything, there wasn't one thing we were unhappy with...we especially enjoyed the fully stocked mini fridge with alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks. We loved the service and staff, they were so attentive and helpful. Everything about the hotel is immaculate.

No other hotel does Christmas like Fairmount Royal York! We love all the festive decor and the cozy ambiance it provides! The price for our stay was very budget friendly which was great. I will always return to this property when traveling at this time of year.

I’ve lived in Toronto my whole life and have always wanted to stay the history of the hotel was nice to see old photos and I loved the Christmas decorations they were spectacular

The most comfortable beds ever, room service was amazing. Quality of linens and towels was superb. Our ac wasn’t working and we called them at 2am and they came within minutes and fixed it for us, AMAZING and THANK YOU! Nespresso coffee, great location, bars on property were divine, classy and amazing food and drinks.

We went during Christmas and it was crazy! That’s not their fault. The hotel is beautiful so everyone wants To see it, the problem is we could never get a seat at one of the restaurants because of this.

Elegant rooms and interior with decorations for Christmas. Very central location. Access to VIA rail and the UP train to the airport a short walk across the street. Walking distance to shows and restaurants in the area.

No ramp up from the main entrance. Requires lift bags up stairs or having bellman do so for you.
