Hotel Catalonia Las Cortes, Madrid

Location was perfect close to all the major attractions but on a quiet street. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The staff were helpful and the small snacks between 4-7 were perfect after our siestas! Thank you for starting off our family Spain/Portugal trip with a great stay!

All rooms were very accommodating

The staff and service are great. Very clean and cozy. The breakfast was great, and there were many alternatives. The staff at the reception were very decent, nice & helpful specially Mr. Mariano and Jan who were a great help inside the hotel and also to find the places in Madrid.

Right off a main plaza its a quiet are blocks from bars and hot spots. Lots of tourists from everywhere. Hotel was very nice, as expected. Breakfast was spendy, ate at a cute cafe down the street for 6 euros...

Found a stain on the sheets buried under the pillows in the morning. Realized that they hadn't changed the sheets, just remade the bed. So gross. Had to hide it from my girlfriend so she didn't freak out. Someone should be fired. Not changing sheets daily is disgusting

It was on a busy street, I woke up in a middle of night with trash trucks taking the trash. I dislike cleaning crew coming to rooms for turn downs

Beautiful property located in the heart of Madrid. Loads of restaurants, bars available at close distance. Las Puertas del Sol at just a 5mns walk. Furthermore, the room was exquisite, absolutely magnificent. It was my husband’s birthday and although I had booked an executive room, we got upgraded to a junior suite. Also, my husband was pampered with a delicious birthday cake and card. Finally, I can’t say enough about how kind the staff was. They accommodated every request and made our stay, one to remember.

Hotel staff should speak better English

The hotel is exceptionally comfortable with plenty of space and incredibly friendly staff. Close to the center but far enough from the transportation and crowds. The afternoon free snack that was offered was a nice treat of fruit, small sandwiches, pastries, and coffee. Just what you need before venturing off to another round of sigthseenig.

There is nothing we didn’t like. Our stay was very comfortable overall and I would happily return to the hotel for our next visit to Madrid. However, two very minor points would be - the air conditioning did not cool the room as much as we would have liked. And secondly the water pressure in the shower was a bit low.

Great hotel in the heart of Madrid in easy walking distance from all the sites and sounds. Well appointed and air conditioned rooms with large bathrooms. Friendly staff.

The hotel interior is a bit dated, although stylistically it’s in keeping with the general historical area.

Good breakfast, excellent location, club-like feel

The location was superb - in a quiet street 5 mins walk from Puerto del Sol. This was the 5th hotel we stayed in on our touring holiday of Spain & was by far the most friendly & welcoming. Buffet breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice.

I can’t think of anything we didn’t like

Nice central location. Good room. No “hotel like” reception/lounge/bar area but plenty of places near by.

I loved the style, I loved how clean it was. Staff was extremely nice, helpful and always with an amazing attitude. Beds were super comfortable. I would stay again 100%! There are a lot of restaurants, bars and important roads/places just a couple blocks away.

Unfortunately, the Barrio de las Letras, although a good location, was a bit filthy this time we visited. So, not really a dislike about the property itself.

Excellent location to all of the museums and sites. Very Centrally located. Room was comfortable. We ate breakfast around the corner at a little bakery. Enjoyed the staff at the hotel.

No Problems

Location is Perfect . 5 Min walk from Prado & Thyssin and 10 Min walk from Sofia Muesum . Near all the resturants and bars YET very quiet and peaceful. The Hotel is Charming. Breakfast was good.

Pillows are too flat for me. even they have Pillow menu , all of them are Flat . Same problem in most EU countries. I have the same issue in Switzerland .

I loved everything! It’s a perfect choice for those who want to have a comfortable stay in the heart of the city.

The only thing that I could mention here was the clogged tub.

Delighted to receive an upgrade. the suite was exceptional. Staff were polite and helpful, everything was perfect. Easy stroll to some landmark features and plenty of food choices locally

A longer stay would have allowed us more time to explore

Good location, with large comfortable room and extremely comfortable bed.

There didn’t seem to be an option to have a light breakfast rather than paying for the rather expensive one, but plenty of bars available nearby. The air conditioning was ok in April but could be inadequate in very hot weather unless it can be adjusted centrally.

Great stay in center of Madrid

I stayed at this hotel on my last visit to Madrid, and it was just as wonderful the second time. Great location, beautiful and well appointed rooms, afternoon snacks, breakfast buffet, and an excellent staff that's friendly and helpful. Shout out to the lovely Paula and Alejandra in the kitchen, and Mariano at the front desk. Highly recommended!

Our stay included the power outage on April 28th. The hotel staff did everything they could, and looked after us, even though they must have been as worried as we were.
