Hotel La Sutra, Mumbai

The hotel has an excellent location close to the seafront, leafy neighbourhood and many good restaurants. Rooms are bright and stylishly decorated with art works. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Buffet breakfast was good, but ordered items took at bit too long to arrive. Breakfast room was a bit dingy, would have been better to serve it outside. Elevator got stuck on upper floors a couple of times.

Really loved the friendly staff and the cool, quirky artwork and little touches during our stay. For example two days we were brought little snacks and on another day we got an acupressure/massage tool. The breakfast was great and lovely restaurant attached to hotel. We had an issue one night of our stay due to noise from another restaurant/bar but the hotel staff sorted this out, proactively offering very favourable compensation which showcased their great customer service.

The location was good in the sense of distance to airport etc however there is a restaurant/bar attached which played very loud music until gone 0200. Out of our four night stay this was only a problem on one of the nights.

Convenient location, clean and comfortable. Everything is walkable or an auto ride away.

It was very loud - there is a restaurant with private parties right next to my room so people and waiters were going in and out. At night, some people were talking loudly too.

Nice rooms each with individual design. Helpful staff and excellent breakfast. Good location if you want to explore Banda and Juju but some distance from main tourist sites in Fort and Colaba.

It is reasonable value for Mumbai but not compared to hotels in other parts of India. Room didn’t have a view or much natural light.

Have some ants 🐜 bugs in the bed of my friend bed very bad in room 309 ! Security needs to learn how To secure guests with visitors from outside.

There was a slight smell outside near the property due to nearness to sea during summer season but it was not in control of the property

Nice contemporary feel with lovely frescoes.

As soon as you leave the building there’s strong smell of fish throughout the day and evening!! I enquired about the smell and was informed that nearby there’s a fish drying place. If there was no smell I would be happy stay at Le Sutra again.

The rooms are indeed very pretty and the staff was always helpful and kind. When you check-out, they even give you a nice little gift and thank you for being part of the experience.

Just one thing - which I admit is out of the Hotel's control. But on some nights, the nice is unbearable. There's a club nearby that hosts events and so it's really loud and you will be able to hear the bass as you try to fall asleep. The events only end at about 2am! The hotel does provide you with ear plugs though.

Reasonably good breakfast - very friendly staff. Very good location near lots of restaurants and clubs. They could have given us a bigger better room but since we booked thro' booking.com guess they try to give better rooms to direct bookings?

Great location - ideal to explore Bandra, but also short distance from Juhu. Some nice bars and restaurants very close. Staff were very friendly and accommodated our early arrival. Bedrooms are nice, spacious and cool - seemed good value comparatively to rest of the city.

The room was very artistic and large. The bar and breakfast attached was excellent. The desk staff was very helpful with our needs and transportation concerns.

My room was above Olive Bar & Kitchen so it gets a bit noisy especially on Thursday nights when Olive Bar runs a party night. If you’re stays includes a Thursday night make sure you don’t get rooms overlooking the Bar

Arty hotel in a fantastic location. The staff were helpful and they offered turn down service everyday. Rooms were super clean, comfortable, and had interesting details within them. Wifi was really strong. If you want to stay in Bandras this is a really good option.

A lot of food on offer for breakfast plus good service, however the quality was not as good as a lot of other places we have eaten in India. For price of hotel would expect bette and would prefer even spicier local food.

Loved the modern stylish aesthetics of the hotel. Staff was impeccable. Felt safe and in a centrally located area.

The restaurant didn’t match the vibe of the hotel but the staff was excellent.

Great fresh breakfast buffet. Not very extensive but what they do have is all good quality. Eggs/ dosa to order. Delicious fresh fruit and juices. Top notch. Plus they packed us sandwiches and fruit for a 5.30am morning checkout. Bonus! Friendly staff.

This is next door to Olive Tree, a trendy bar / restaurant. One of the nights the music from Olive Tree was quite loud and went on till late, so not ideal if you want an extra quiet night.

Everything was perfect. We stayed in the TAAL room. Room was spacious, clean. Our child enjoyed the stay and the breakfast. They even packed breakfast for us when we had to leave early morning for a short trip. Very professional staff.

Staff were the best - the female manager assisted us to book transport to an outstation and provided us with a fabulous packed breakfast for the journey. All before the restaurant opened for breakfast. All staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable The art throughout the hotel.

Please do not stay there on Thursdays since there is a big party in the restaurant (Olive) that is just under the hotel. I could not sleep until 5 am because the music was super loud and the whole room was tremblingly due to a buffer. It was like trying to sleep in a club. Horrible experience!! The fact that the restaurant is owned by the same company that owns the hotel is disappointing. How can you do that to your guests? How can you care so little about your guests that you don't mind running their sleep? That night called several times to reception to complain and they did not care. Luckily the reception staff the next day was resourceful and they offered me to change the room to another one far away from the restaurant, although smaller than the one I had. I could finally rest. I liked the fact that the room was always very clean and the location was close to the beach and nice restaurants around. That's why I decided to stay instead of leaving, plus they changed my room.

Apart from the terrible night on Thursday due to the loud music at the restaurant downstairs, I would remark that the reception area is very close and there is not any other common space in the whole hotel. There is no parking area neither.

Very interesting art hotel which is different to the norm. Rooms were large and individually styled.

Lift was awkward to use and very small.

Good location -not far from Bandra and Juhu Beach, while only 25 minutes by car from the airport. A lot of nice cafes, restaurants and bars in the area within walking distance too. The rooms are clean and very originally decorated. Breakfast is simple but complete (eggs in any style, paratha, dosa etc.). Staff is very friendly and polite -special thanks to the smiling reception desk lady, who is extremely responsive. I will definitely come back! :)

Evening/Night staff can be slow even for simple requests -it's better to deal with day staff for quick responses. The A/C is a bit loud. Hooks on the wall behind the entrance door would be very helpful in the room. Wi-Fi doesn't work so well. I used my mobile hotspot instead.

Room Tamas has not any outside wiew and it is quite small, not even sitting space for two people, there is only one chair. Enough space for luggage though. There are not towel racks in the bathroom.

The team made a huge effort to decorate our room as a surprise, we were there for our wedding anniversary.

Every room has its own concept

Bathroom desk very small. Windows cannot be opened for fresh air, can hope only for some air from the air condition (but thats the case in entire India). We think we got cat fished as we saw during the booking on booking.com some pictures of pool. However, when we arrived we have been told the pools do not belong to the hotel. Those were pictures from the villas 2 hrs outside of Mumbai City Centre.

I had to call, and wait 30mins at airport to get my prearranged pickup. After a flight from Europe and arriving in middle of night and tired, would have expected the prearranged taxi ready to pick me up. Had called twice to hotel and once to driver to get finally picked up. Not good, considering the charge hotel of 3times price of uber. Next time I will take the prepaid taxi.

very busy at check in, had requested early check in via booking.com, the manager replied days later after checkin.. the breakfast was disappointing, day 1 full buffet spread but food was cold and the toasted sandwhiches were cold. day 2 no buffet but items were available via a menu only to be told that the dhosa/uttapa or all south indian starters are not available. the ac in the room 308 points directly onto the bed and is not adjustable. requested for softer pillows and was given the same pillow. they are all very hard and overfilled.

Staying at Le Sutra was a wonderful experience. Every room has its own signature design. Ours was the Shuddhi themed room and it was very comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in the lively Khar neighborhood. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. On our last day we booked a treatment at their in-house spa; a relaxing way to end our Mumbai trip.

To our surprise, the restaurant kitchen was being renovated during our stay. Breakfast was served in the art gallery and this felt a little bit improvised.

This small boutique hotel is the place to go if you are looking for a place with ow’ personality where the guest is truely the center of it. The decoration, furniture, art pieces. Wonderful place.

Good: A) the bed is very comfortable, the facilities are clean B) the front desk is very responsive and the staff very helpful (helping walk with me with an umbrella outside, Sivam helped me with luggage, etc) C) breakfast and coffee at Out of the Blue is excellent - Boris was especially helpful D) love the little bhel/nut samplers with every turn down service. Very thoughtful! Hope that helps

Can be improved: 1) the lighting switches in Prakriti (room 307) are very very confusing. I finally just press various buttons just to see what happens - a lot of trial and error. I think the labels and instructions could be better. 2) the AC in Prakriti is really really cold. Even if I raise the temperature to 20. And the fan is definitely noisy 3) I had asked for a couple of clothes (jeans, tshirt) to be laundered (I was expecting them to be INR 75 each) but they came back dry cleaned (at INR 250 each). Apparently there isn’t a wash-and-iron option, which I didn’t quite get. That price difference felt like a ripoff. Please let your clients know that you ONLY dry clean - it’s important information.
