Lord Elgin Hotel, Ottawa

Fantastic location, very handy for the canal, sightseeing in the city, & visiting the numerous restaurants & bars! Beautiful, vintage style hotel, super professional, friendly & helpful staff. Great communication from the hotel before our visit explaining about the front entrance improvements. Big quiet room with a fabulously comfy bed & pillows!

Excellent location. Friendly staff at front desk and in the restaurant and the valet. Breakfast was very good and our room was comfortable.

My daughter’s bed had an improperly sized sheet on it which was taken care of quickly by housekeeping. We just couldn’t believe that this was allowed to happen! The bath towels are very small. It seemed like we waited a long time for the valet to retrieve our car upon check out at 9am.

personnel and its courtesy are for sure the plus of this hotel i asked for a different room and the staff made everything possible to meet my request so

the hotel is nice and has character although some of its facilities are a bit old-fashioned

The pillows were rather flat. No local parking - personally I am not a big fan of valet parking.

One of the staff at the front decided to allow another guest to jump in front of waiting guests. Small issue but really not appropriate.

The whole package, The hotel is central The beds very comfortably The swimming pool was amazing for the grandson's after being out all day.

The hotel was very conveniently located in the central area, surrounded by good restaurants and cafés. The reception staff were welcoming and accommodating.

Spa area was not up to the mark. Shower by the pool was broken.

The room amenities were perfect.

The choice of pillows in the room were either a foam feeling pillow or a very “lumpy” pillow. I had a hard time finding a comfortable support. I didn’t complain as we only stayed one night, but in the past on previous stays, there was a pillow “menu” from which we could choose a more comfortable pillow.

Exceptional service. I like the welcome text message about the Happy Hour available hours and if you need anything, assistance is just a text away. I’m impressed that I received a response back with my inquiry.

The coffee machine is quite dusty and it was not cleaned coz the used pod is still in the pod holder or pod housing.

The location was perfect for attending a concert at the National Arts Centre.

The room had some crumbs remaining from the last guests in the room.

Two double beds were provided with 8 pillows.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful experience and we'll be back again when visiting Ottawa.

We came to Ottawa to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We had a fabulous time and the staff were absolutely amazing from the time we arrived to the time we left!

Room and staff were great.

Would have liked a store or kiosk to purchase quick snacks and beverages in the hotel other than the restaurant. Gift shop hours are limited.

The coffee and tea pods could have been replaced every day without having to ask for more.

The Hotel location was great! Very clean room and staff was very friendly. Used the valet service and couldn't be more happier. So close to a lot of amenities! Parliament was so close by and got to walk around and see the amazing structures of the government buildings.

We had two double beds in one of the rooms when we were supposed to get a king size bed

Great location, within a block of the canal. Enjoyed the lap pool and sauna. The rooms are very nice, and there is a convenient parking garage nearby.

Excellent location right at canal to go skating. Great view looking towards canal. Staff is outstanding. Renovated bathroom. Will return when we are in Ottawa.

Due to historic character of the building, the toilet was squeezed into the bathroom.

Location was superb for our purposes. Had three nights of great sleep and breakfast was really good in the property restaurant (41). Staff were very pleasant and helpful. We couldn't take advantage of the pool, etc (would have been great after skating the canal), because we foolishly forgot swimsuits.

Needs some insulation for the windows as it was cold in the room close to the windows. The electric outlet close to the bed did not function .

Room was clean and comfortable. Beautiful property and excellent location.

It was unfortunate to not have a room facing the canal but not a huge deal. The pool and hot tub area really need a refresh. It’s pretty dated and tired. Also it would be nice if the pool was open until at least 11pm instead of 10.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and clean as well as the bathroom. The elevators were fast and the valet parking was top notch 👌

Location is amazing! Property is well kept and the restaurant and bar serve great food!
