Beautiful hotel, clean and comfortable rooms.

Rooms overlooking the street side were extremely noisy late into the night, from music being played on the main road, every night of our stay, making it difficult to sleep.

The staff were amazing and very knowledgeable,

You can hear the street performers all night from you hotel room unfortunately

The location

The location is excellent as it is right on the beach. I love the courtyard/restaurant and pool area. The hotel has all the amenities of a resort with classic charm and character. The pool is not huge but a decent size and you can get pool side service.

Given how expensive it is to stay beachside, it would be great if there were more "free-bies" like free rentals of boogie boards, beach umbrellas or chairs.

The Room had a view of the pool which was great. The located right on the beach made it even better.

The only thing hotel related that was not good was the path to get to the beach, around the pool to the towel hut then cross between these rows of chairs to get to the small access point with a sandbag across it.

The location is superb, close to everything you need and walking distance to shops etc

Getting a chair by the pool is just shambolic. Having to get up at 6:30am to get a chair is ridiculous and people taking chairs and not using them needs to be monitored. So many people wanting to sit by the pool and couldn’t yet so many unused chairs that people put their stuff on and then left ~ sometimes for hours. Really disappointing when you are paying good money to stay at a beautiful resort but can’t relax by the pool.

The rooms were a little small.

We couldn't use the balcony due to the structural issue. The hotel should complete the inspection and fix it shortly if needed and let visitors use the balcony.

Too expensive

The room was small, but the ocean view was really incredible. We were very close to the water. Breakfast was delicious, albeit expensive. $40 for eggs benedict.

We were disappointed that it was difficult to relax at the resort because it was always so packed with people. Every time we did finally score a rocker to sit and talk with the people next to us, none of them were actually staying at the hotel. It was disappointing, given the price point, that we could not enjoy the facilities because people staying across the street or elsewhere, in a less expensive hotel, were taking advantage of the seating on the hotel grounds. There was hardly ever a place to sit, and people would hover if it appeared you were leaving. It's a great historical building, and I understand the draw, but there should be areas reserved exclusively for guests. Most of the time, we could not find a place to sit on the front porch (which was incredibly loud), the second floor porch, or in the back beachfront common areas, and our room did not offer seating. For this reason alone, I would not stay there again. The shower also leaked all over the floor every time we showered.The service was great, though.

The Banyan Tree patio is incredibly charming. Daily relaxing live music can be listened to either form the beach bar, the pool, or the beach itself. Unique laid-back atmosphere!

Close walking distance to so many good restaurants. Bathroom had a bidet toilet Bed very comfortable with soft bedding & sheets Food was good but pricey at the beach bar restaurant.

No one could use their balcony due to an incident in January that they have not fixed yet. Bathroom way too small

Fabulous location. Magnificent views. Spacious room. Proximity to the beach. Friendly and attentive staff.

There was nothing I didn't like. I just wish I could have stayed longer!

Love the location. Love the ambiance. It is my second time staying at this hotel. My wife loves the Spa there.

The balconies in both of my rooms were shut closed due to construction. I did not see or hear any construction.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Great location right in the heart of Waikiki. Walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. They kept the beach clean even after tons of tourists use it every day. Beautiful old main building with a huge Banyon tree in the middle of the terrace bar area.

The bathrooms were a bit small along with the pool area. But then again you are there for the beach.

Can’t beat the location, right on the beach room is of course old but comfortable and nice.

Wonderful in every way.

Like Oahu in general the food was overly expensive. However we don’t go to Hawaii, or the USA, for the food (or more correctly the scarcity of real food).

Gorgeous property and conveniently located.

Air conditioner was loud and smelled musty. We both came home sick with sinus issues. Could not open the sliding door for fresh air.
